I got a new HP EliteBook 6930p for work about three months ago and it is fantastic. We ordered two of them with some upgrades and it came to $2200.

I have the same pair. I bought the golf set of polarized lenses though, since I use mine for golfing as well. They work really well and after two years, they don't have any scratches.

Not sure if Fleet Farm is a regional company or national, but ours had a great little clearance sale. A bunch of Rage stuff was on clearance, so I picked up some frogs and craws for $3 each. Also got a couple booyah bucktail jigs for $1.25, figuring if I don't like the bucktail I can give it a haircut. Also some Strike King Bitsy jigs for $1.25 as well. They had a lot of stuff, but I didn't want to go too crazy considering I have a TW shipment on the way too.

I created a DIY version of this and it worked out great. I got two rods this past Christmas and they were both 6'6". The rod tube that I have is only good for 6' rods. D'oh... This worked great, but I think I will look into a new tube as a long term solution.

Guess you know what color scheme to use now. I hate snakes and might have dropped or thrown the fish if that happened to me. I seriously turn into a little school girl around any snakes.

This weekend I took the Citica out. This is my first baitcaster, and I was prepared to deal with birdsnests all weekend long. I set the brakes to 4 on, 2 off and made sure the cast control was locked down enough that I had to give my bait a little nudge to get it to drop. First cast, line drive right into the lake and a birdsnest (nothing major though)... Fix that, toss again, same result. It took me a good hour to get casting direction down. This is much different than a spinning reel. After that first hour, things really improved. I started getting the thumb control down and was feeling pretty comfortable. It was getting late, so I packed it up for the night. Next morning, I tried again. Control was improving, and I realized at this time I need to use both hands to cast. One to worry about the reel, one to steer the rod. I decide to take it out in my F-I-L's little boat. Everything was going well, rarely a birdsnest and if there was one, it was minor. Then I made a big mistake, I got overconfident. I didn't go through my routine, and jerked the bait back and jerked it forward...MAJOR BIRDSNEST I was done for the day with that rod. Had to bring the rig into the house and spend an hour cleaning that up. Note to other rookies -- like golf, make sure to have a smooth transition between your backswing and forward swing. I would say that the reel performed amazing and other than me being an idiot once, it cause little backlash. The other times that it did, were my fault for not controlling the reel with my thumb properly. I suppose turning on all the brakes might have prevented those problems as well, but I like a challenge.

Wish me luck, we are heading out to grampa's house for some fishing action. My son made me call grampa to confirm that we were indeed going to go fishing on Friday. Should be a blast and thanks for all the tips.

Yep, each store will have it's own inventory. At our store they had 50% off the lowest price on each item. I loaded up on some Yozuri Hybrid line for $3.50/ea and a couple Mann lures. I did see a Curado combo, but it was righty so I didn't snag it. In hindsight I likely should have bought it and flipped it for some profit, but oh well.

LOL wagn Thanks guys. Grampa already has a pole for him, I think it is a Thomas the Train one or something like that. We are going to see them this weekend so everyday he says "Go to grampa's on Friday and go fishing?" He has gotten rides in Grampa's boat many times already and he loves it, he even got to "drive" once. In his mind the boat cannot go fast enough though. We'll see how this weekend goes. Hopefully we can find him a sunny or bluegill to crank in.

My son is going to turn 3 in about a month. He has shown an interest in fishing, and I do want to encourage anything he shows interest in. Do you think he is old enough? How do I get him started, just hook on a worm and bobber and drop it off the dock?

Maybe some of the more senior members in the club should talk to him about his attitude. I mean, if the guy is ruining other members outings, then why even have him in the club? Maybe the guy doesn't know how he is being perceived?

My wife doesn't drink wine very often at all. She likes Rieslings and Pinot Grigio. I can ask her for specific brands if you like. I know she has tried a few and is pretty picky because once in a while she comes across a dry or "oakey" one and won't drink it.

I have a buddy that loves to play video games. I wrote a simple app that would generate a random number every hour. If the random number equaled the magic number in the program, then it would swap his mouse buttons around for the next 5 minutes or so. Also it would randomly reboot his computer. It was hilarious to swing by his house and listen to him cuss because his computer was jacked and it caused him to die. ;D

Don't worry, I can keep a secret, it's the people I tell that you have to watch out for.

Some good office humor is to replace the cream inside oreos with toothpaste. Takes a little work, but just to get one person to eat it is great fun.
