Rod Comparisons
I don't use spinning gear, but for baitcasting that 7'3" vendetta h/xf is going to be the one I use for the same application as you. I'm getting it in Jan.

Getting Frustrated
I really want to buy an Orra SX. I am not one who buys a reel without handling it first. Academy,Gander mtn,BPS, and our 2 local shops do not carry this reel. WTH? Looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and order online. >

Frogs (interesting)
After looking and thinking about it, I don't think I am a big fan of the nose hook idea. On one of the videos he missed quite a few before hooking up.

I have been listening to that song since I was a young teenager. Many, many, many years ago. That is actually the song that got me to like them. When the kite string pops is a great album.

CDM Rapala Rods - very nice!
look nice, but IMO not enough selection on the casting rods.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
You are in the area.Leaving willow oak launch heading toward where sandy and six mile meet.Notice the change in bouys, and a big tall dead tree is on the right side of the boat lane. The tree and bouys, that's how I find my hole. It's just off the boat lane between the 2 different bouys, across from the big dead tree. Maybe I confused you. Dead tree right side of boat lane. Dynamite hole left side of boatlane. It is a very good spot. SHHHH! Keep it quiet. I have NEVER seen another boat there. I think when I found it we pulled 4 or 5 good fish off of it.

Nevermind none of them work.

Here are a few of my favorite old southern metal songs and videos. And 1 that's not old or southern(I think) If they don't work I apologize. So ignore. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1YbHlAdr4g Ok, so the first 2 don't work. It was a band called Acid Bath and the song was Graveflower. The second was Down and song was Stone the crow. But Mastadon works.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
99% of the time I go I launch at Willow Oak. Not a lot of traffic and a good launch area. Good fishing in that area too. I have a secret hole in that area. Right where the small round bouys end and the cylinder shaped ones begin. There is a bowl shaped drop off. from about 7ft to 20ft. We call it the dynamite hole.

Revo winch $152 Revo sx $109
On Bing.com (click shopping)I was just searching and found those prices on those 2 reels. Pretty good IMO.

Anyone still use Abu round reels?
I do. For deep cranking, jigging and 2 of my plastics rods. All c3 and c4 4600. Built like a tank. Oh yeah, ALL of my saltwater reels are abu rounds.

Freshwater rod use in saltwater?
Just rinse and you'll be fine. I've done it for years.

Fishing VERY Murky Water
The largemouth ive caught in this murky bay are pretty small. I havent fished it a ton, so there could be some nice sized ones, but will the smaller ones bite big plastics? I promise they will. I have caught 10" bass on 12" worms. You can fish smaller if your want. IMO it's just better to give a bigger profile bait in lowlight/low visibility conditions.

Penn vs Sanchez
Make your predictions. I hope ol "nightmare" puts it to him. Diego is an animal. But Penn is quite a scrapper. It will be good. Winner = Sanchez by decision

Wright and McGill Skeet Reese rods.
I have handled them in gander mtn. They feel good and I like the guides. Some felt like a buggy whip. I think they should be good for the money. But I can't get past the color. Just a little too much yellow for me.

Baits for Muddy Water
Spinnerbaits (colorado blade), 8" or bigger plastics, noisy baits. All in dark colors with the exception of chartruese. Lots of scent, kick n bass or jj's magic.

Fishing VERY Murky Water
When I fish dark murky water, I always use dark colors. Spinnerbaits with a throbbing or thumping blade. No less than 8" worms or lizards if fishing plastics. Scents and vibration are key here. In murky water I will rescent every 4 casts. Also if you do use a spinnerbait I would try to use an Uncle Josh JUMBO black pork frog trailer.
