  1. Kinami Palm Tree vs Yamamoto Fat Ika. Ika costs a little more BUT you get more per pkg. Ika's also have a little better color selection.
  2. Good and cheap IMO of course. Round reel- Abu Garcia c3 or c4 4600. Low pro Daiwa Exceler. Rods H&H rods HXS, American Rodsmith Apex, Daiwa Procyon, Allstar Classic.
  3. AHHHH! A Sig, a thing of beauty and very trustworthy. My father has a p226 and it is a bad mofo. Never a problem and on point. Congrats.
  4. Dicks has just as much stuff as Academy. Normally at the same price. The Dicks here has a selection that is one step up from Wal-mart. That's not good. The one here has just about any lure you could want. A good selection of good rods. The only thing that is lacking is reels. The problem you are running in to with dicks and the main reason people want academy is the H2O line of baits. You will not find those anywhere but academy. Unless you can get lucky on ebay.
  5. Wat/red and wat/candy flukes
  6. A c3 4600. Not a thing in the world wrong with that reel.
  7. I have hauled in giant redfish on med action allstar rods. That is all I use for saltwater. I have NEVER had a problem with a one not having enough backbone for a red. Bass do not fight like a red. I love allstar rods.
  8. Xcalibur xr75, Xrap, Tx rigged 12" BPS squirmin super worm, Pegged Paca craw, Stanley wedge spinnerbait.
  9. I am at a loss for words. That guy is awesome.
  10. 4am I am working nights. Actually been at work since 4:15pm yesterday. Get off in 15 mins. While at work I ordered some baits I did not need and a vendetta.
  11. I can NEVER figure out how to post things like this. So I will just type them. Pantera-Vulgar Display of Power, Opeth- Still Life and Ghost Reveries, Down- Nola, Pig Destroyer- Prowler in the Yard, Cattle Decapitation- Humanure Forgot one, Dead to Fall- Villany and Virtue.
  12. IMO your buddy needs to learn his brakes and spool tension knobs on his reel. Sounds like he needs to tighten down on them a little. I use Sufix Seige mono on everything except lipless cranks, and I do not run into this problem.
  13. I just found a website that has Curado 200 e7 for $149, Cardiff 100a for $88. I don't use Shimano or know about the normal pricing, but those seem like ok prices to me.
  14. Sometimes you really really have to hunt for what you want. At our local store they stock the Spro frogs by where they sale pistols. No where near anything that has to do with fishing.
  15. Ya know, I honestly feel sorry for you guys out there that don't have an academy store around. I have always wondered why they don't have internet sales. It's a shame.
  16. Cool. Ray Scott said bass research.hehe
  17. Academy does make a great "G Lock" style hook. Also I use just a Gamakatsu 3/0 - 6/0 ewg.
  18. Grande Bass makes some awesome baits. Not much talk on here about them, hey that might be a good thing. I have caught tons of fish on the mutants. The rattlesnakes are very good too. Combat Craw is my favorite color. http://www.grandebass.com/gb93t/store/photo-pop.asp?AutoID=334
  19. IMO Dax has one of the best and most underrated voices in music. Deadgirl,Scream of the Butterfly,Graveflower,My Evil Friend(deadboy) are some of the songs that really show it off. But I also love the hardcore side of Acid Bath. Like Cassie eats cockroaches and Dr Suess is dead. A great band that did'nt get enough credit. Lots of good videos on youtube.
  20. Stanley. IMO they are the best. But I really want to try the Megastrike spinnerbait.
  21. IMO there is no such thing as "too large". After I caught 8" bass on 12" worms I strongly believe that.
  22. Big Bite Baits, Grande Bass, Wave,Lake Fork tackle, Gambler,Gene Larew, and BPS makes some killer 12" worms
  23. Stickmarsh/Farm 13 in Florida. If you want to come to Tx I personally would fish either Falcon or Choke Canyon. Should be able to find lodging and guides on the web. www.texasfishingguides.org
  24. IMO i would stick with Allstar. Every one I have ever had has been good. They are just a flatout good rod.
