  1. The lure that means the most to me is a Smithwick Devils Horse. It was the first lure I ever casted. It caught fish when I was a little one and it still catches fish today. Now that I look back on it, my dad must have been crazy to let me throw that thing at such a very young age. All those trebles, I am surprised nothing bad ever happened.
  2. Looking at TW and got an itchin for a new daiwa reel. Specifically for senkos. The Fuego is on sale for $131 and the Aggrest is $149. Which would be better suited for senkos, flukes, Ika's etc?
  3. Abu Garcia Aurora,7' MH Airrus Feather Touch T6, 14# Berkley Fireline.
  4. I have noticed a few of the flippin rods out there are telescopic. I don't know if I like that idea. Does anyone on here use these for flipping? Or does everyone just go 1 piece?
  5. In you guys opinion, what is the best rod for less than $100? I like the Falcon Original and American Rodsmith (champion series and limit stix). Notables Daiwa Procyon and American Rodsmith APEX. But top choice being the Falcon.
  6. X2 on the H2O sammy type. I have 3 of them and they all perform like a dream. Walk very easy, good paint,VMC hooks. If you have an Academy near buy I would suggest buying a lot of the H2O cranks and hardbaits.
  7. With the way they are made, the only part that can flipped up is the fingers your thumbs and palms stay covered. But the gloves have a thin cotton type liner in them. Thin enough where you can still feel with your fingers when holding a rod and reel. They also have 1 pc snow suits and balaclava masks/hoods on that website for cheap. I bought mine from there recently and can't wait to use them. It may not get extremely cold in south Tx, but it get's cold enough.
  8. Here is my outlook on it. Do I want the Horns to win, of course I do. I have been saying that and got into a few arguments with a few people on here before the season started that UT was gonna be in this game. Anyway, I want them to win. Do I think they can beat Bama? If they played like they did against the Huskers, they will get slaughtered. Key points in that game that some of ya'll may have missed are #21 Gideon dropped yet another INT. #11 Kirkendoll dropped like 3 very catchable passes. One of which could have gone for a TD down the sideline. Little things like that really add up. I also think they should mix up the running game. Run someone besides Newton all of the time. Also use the option. The Huskers did a very very good job of shutting down the short passing game, and it's obvious the run game is weak. Mix it up, pass down field more, let fozzy and Johnson run the ball some, and STOP DROPPING PASSES. IMO they do have a good D. Kindle is very quick, Muckleroy is also very good. Good secondary with the exception of dropped INT's. The best part of the UT D is they can shut down a run game real quick. Mcelroy hopefully will have to pass and get picked off. If the Horns do win, It will be because of the defense.
  9. This is what I use. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/heat-factory-pop-topp-mitts-with-liners-and-2-heat-packs.aspx?a=542493 They come with little heat packs that fit inside holders on the gloves.
  10. I love long A's the one I have and have caught plenty off of is the pro model. It's the shorter version, only 2 trebles. And it has a very slow sink action. I fish it just like the X rap. They have never outfished an x rap though. But they are definatley worth a purchase.
  11. I was thinking more along the lines of throwing them in place of a fat ika or kinami palm tree. it's a solid body tube except instead of a bunch of little tentacles it has like 6 or 8 thicker ones.
  12. Anyone tried these yet?
  13. I use them for saltwater. Trout and redfish love them.
  14. I tried to tell my wife, but she REALLY don't care. So you guy's are the one's I have to tell this to. I just scored 4 bags of GYCB kreatures for $6. I know it's no big deal, but to me it is. You don't see that price everyday. As a matter of fact, I never have seen them that cheap.
  15. Pretty Woman? Aww, did I get your dirt? Naw,man I'm cool. No you're not
  16. As of now, I use a 7' American Rodsmith Champions. But in the very near future it will be a 7'3" hvy/xfast vendetta.
  17. The same thing I did in 09, learn to crank off of deep structure. Also FINALLY catch something on one of my Huddleston's.
  18. Ok, I have a Daiwa Megaforce I am willing to sacrifice and practice on. It has plastic side plates. I want to paint it simple glossy black. I don't have an airbrush. So can anyone please recommend a good can of spray paint and clear coating.. Any other tips will be helpful. Like how many coats of paint and how many coats of clear. Thanks in advance.
  19. Pardon my lack of knowledge, but what is a Helin Flatfish? And how is it fished?
  20. Call me a nerd or whatever, but some of the bait's you guys build, paint, or repaint are just ridiculously awesome. I am truly amazed at most of the work ya'll do. Keep it up so I can keep looking. Cheers!
  21. Basically I fish on them, through them, under and around them. When I see heavy grass beds I will automatically grab my pegged blk/blue paca craw, punch through it,and pitch around it. If that don't work, depending on depth I grab an xrap, spinnerbait or trap.
  22. Hopefully Florida, as much as I want to see them lose. I want the Longhorns to be the team that beats them. HOOK EM
  23. What are you guys favorite fluoro? I have never used it. I am thinking of trying it. I have my eye on Fireline, is it any good. Likes and dislikes will be helpful. Thanks.
  24. The same thing happens to me all of the time trust me. I see them suspending between 8' and 15' throw DD22's, DD14's,traps, c rigs, tx rigs, senkos, and can't catch the first one.
  25. Do you know any of the T Bend guides? Randy Colson,Greg Crafts,Joe Joslin and Darrell Lyons? If you do, which one would you reffer someone to use.
