  1. American rodsmiths champions or team series, falcon original,or bps extreme with ext cam lock handle. just got one last week and i got more than i paid for. or a airrus co matrix
  2. out of my 12, 6 of those are round. 3 c4 4600 and 3 c3 4600 and i also have a redfish nation round reel as an emergency backup. i honestly think i will always have them. built like a tank and if you take care of them they will last forever. but i like my low profiles too. but i pretty much learned how to throw a round one so they will always have a place in my heart.
  3. one thing i did that makes me feel stupid is waste my money on a pfleuger.
  4. i love the way these look. have never held one and am weary of buying without handling first. none of my local shops carry them. anyone out there have any info on them other than what i can get off the websight?
  5. you should join one for the same reason you joined bass resource. to learn more about fishing.talk about bass fishing, share stories, info, and knowledge.
  6. I own a 17.5 cc bay boat. with a draft of 12". never once have i gotten wet on a ride. other than go really fast which i dont like to do anyway what can a big $50,000 bass rig do that i cant? now im not knocking bass boats at all, i love them i just love my small bay boat more. and yes it may seem weird, but all i do is bass fish. in a boat that is made for saltwater bay fishing.
  7. 8" or bigger. big slug go, mag flukes, ol monster zooms. dont forget big jigs around structure if there is any.
  8. I see this a lot and it bothers me. if you catch a bass 10 pounds plus, PLEASE hold the fish up with two hands. a fish with that type of weight can easily get jaw damage just by being held up like that. it still needs to eat after it is (hopefully) released.
  9. i noticed and thought the same thing
  10. i personally like bandit cranks. from shallow to deep. but for really deep i go to a norman dd22. you REALLY should consider some lipless cranks, like xcalibur xr50 and xr75. or good ol rat l trap. Also a rogue or x rap wouldnt hurt. they all just take practice and patience.
  11. black/gold x rap and huckleberry big bite trick stick on toledo bend. PB&J strike king zero and bandit flat maxx on rayburn.
  12. If a bass want to eat something, its going to eat it. plain and simple
  13. Ive been really looking at the wave tiki lobsters 7" the colors look nice and the price isnt bad. just wondering about catches on them, also i bought some biffle o lizards 8" havent had the chance to use them yet but will in a few days. whats the best way to fish them? i plan on carolina rigging them with foam inserted for floatation. has anyone out there used them yet? hows the durability?
  14. I ordered 4 bags of these from bass pro and havent had the chance to use them yet. they look and feel great. like a classic ol school hook tail worm but 12". If anyone has used them and had any luck, please let me know.
  15. look at big bite baits anything by them, wave tiki platypus, grande bass mutants and rattle snakes
  16. i fish toledo bend, and have never left the willow oak / six mile area. can anyone tell me what im really missing out on? i have caught plenty of fish there for many years. is there any reason to really venture any farther? any other good areas? if so please let me know. i dont have a map i just go by sight and memory. dont really know proper names of coves and such. highline cove, cannons cove, any others? Also when i fish Rayburn i never go west of five fingers. farmers, needmore point, and buck bay have always done fine. is there any reason to go to black forest or harvey creek?
  17. me and my buddy are reading your problem, i say you should fish either a good ol slug go or a mag fluke. over the top of the grass, and at the end of the grass just let it sink a little deeper. natural shad colors on clear days, darker colors on cloudy days. and if topwater is not a confidence bait for you a frog wont work. i personally dont like frogs. they are too fast and to many short strikes. if possible go with a mag torpedo, devils horse, or pop r. frog or shad patterns. my buddy says you must be his neighbor ! similar pond, similar situation. As bad as he hates topwater it works for him early in the morning but in the heat of the day he switched to a white crankbait, went deep, cranked fast and started snapping photos. Go get em!
  18. Wow, am i the only person who like this reel? i have never had a single complaint about mine. i also have never had a single problem either. the cast control works great. i have it on a 7 ft all star 12 lb suffix seige and it will cast a tx rigged weightless 5" senko extremely well. maybe its the blakemores reel magic i put on the line while spooling. i dont know, but i would recommend this reel to anyone. i dont really use the twitchin bar like i thought i would. but its still pretty cool.
  19. Has anyone on here ever heard of this company? I own one and love it. i dont have the top of the line rod but its pretty good for what i paid. ive never seen them anywhere other than my local gander mtn. i believe they are made in houston or somewhere in tx. check them out. i believe there top rod is kevlar. beautiful.
  20. i live on the south east texas coast.I preffer sow belly bass, but when i cant make it to sam rayburn or toledo bend, i can drive 15 mins to sabine lake and catch specks, redfish and flounder all day.
  21. On a normal fishing trip, how many rods do you carry? And what brands? 12 for me 8 American rodsmith,1 h&h hxs,1 all star,1 falcon,1e21
