Conspiricy II
I just want to know who the large handed guy was, who probed me...never mind, he said he'll call tomorrow. :-[...He didn't look like a Dr. to me.

What a show!
After that, I'm going to at least keep a one time use camera on the boat.

What a show!
I'm at the staging area today getting ready to launch, when a kid walks up the ramp to get his rig out. He comes around to the ramp in a vintage chevette! I'm like no way. He backs down the ramp, snatches his boat, then the show starts, The massive 1.2 liter tachs out, then comes the clutch dump, then comes the burnout up the ramp. He gets to the staging area, where he unhooks it from the bumper, then puts it on a hitch mounted on the hatch! because it rides too low on the bumper. I live in the mountains, so you're either on the gas, or on the brakes. So I ask him how his ride handles in an emergency stop, and he tells me he doesn't know, it hasn't happened yet! I can't imagine pulling or stopping 600 lbs. worth of boat and trailer with 1000 lbs. worth of car.

need opinions on power tools
I've always liked Dewalt, but my budget doesn't allow for too many of those. ;D I have a Makita drill, and a Craftsman miter saw, they both get the job done.

New ride
Can't go wrong, my 01' Tundra has survived 150,000 so far, including 7 deer, 1 bear, 3 years of drilling gas wells, and an accidental bump of the 4x4 button doing 70 mph. ;D

Update on some old motors
I picked up 2 outboards and a fuel tank for $80 last weekend, and finally got a chance to scope them out a little. One is a 1966 Ted Williams 7.5 hp, it runs, and figured it could be a backup for the johnson. The one I'm excited about is a 1946 Evinrude Ranger 1.1 hp. I ordered a new(used) coil for it, cleaned the carb and fuel tank on it, and gave the whole unit a q-tip bath, that thing is fasinating, I think once I get the satisfation of hearing it run, I'll mount it on the wall in the family room. ;D Once I pick a new camera up, I'll post some pics of it.

Pulled a prank on Dad
lol, thats pretty good. Last year, my dad had a ground hog tearing up his garden, he couldn't get a shot at it to save his life. One sunday morning, I went to his place to get the log splitter, and there he was eating dad's pepper plants, I carry a 10/22 in the truck, and made short work of him with a head shot. I was feeling proud of the years I've added back to his life, then an idea started brewing, I propped the groundhog on a 5 gallon bucket to make it look like he was getting a drink, and waited for dad to get home from church. I stood in the kitchen when he got home, while we were talking, I pointed past him out the window and said "Look at that brave SOB.". He didn't hesitate, down the hall and back with his 16 gauge! of all of his rifles, he grabbed a shotgun for a 50 yard shot! He slides the door open, shoulders the old H&R, and fires. The concussion almost blows the glass out of the door, but the shot does knock the dead whisle pig over, and peppers his water bucket with 50 or so holes. He lets out a victory howl, and yells "Its your hind end now Mr. postman.". We were inspecting the carcass, and I noted how the hole in its head looked an awful lot like a .22 shot from my truck, he looked me in the eye with disbelief at first then said "you owe me a bucket, and clean my shotgun too". He hasn't got me back...yet.

I just picked up a sears 7.5 hp, an old evinrude 1-2? hp, and a 5 gallon gas can for $80, and they work. if I find my camera, I'll post a pic, after I find the vintage on them. The evie looks to be of the 40-50's era.

Hunting license
Every year I dread standing in line at wally world to get my license, this year was a little different, I was able to purchase and print my hunting license(pa) online from the comfort of the captain's chair. I did kind of miss all of the stories of guys talking about the deer they seen last year, while holding their hands above their heads to represent antler size. ;D

For the hopelessly paranoid
With the skinning tri-pod in the front yard, and a collection of antlers attached to the garage, and me on the front porch playing the banjo, people know a gun or 2 lives there. ;D I have 3 lines of defense, the dog, the wife, and me. The dog will bite you, the wife will nag you for bleeding on the floor, and I'll just shoot you to put you out of misery. ;D Weapon of choice: Ruger P94 40S&W, with a staggered clip of CCI #9 birdshot, then a Quik Shok.

Sold my baby
78' F-150, had it 2 years, then a moron hit me head on, ripped both axles out from under his 2000 F-250, I pulled his off the road with mine, they totaled mine, but fixed his. That old girl was a tank...I miss that old 10 mpg 400 modified.

Do you think psychics are real?
My wife and I were watching tv, and a psychic commercial comes on, and she asked me if I thought they were real. After processing this complex question for a quarter of a second, I replied "Have you ever seen a headline stating that a psychic has once again won the powerball?" One of the rare times I've left her speechless. 8-)

Porky's

Shallow water fishing?
I do alot of fishing where a boat shouldn't be, I usually have to push myself out with an oar, but I catch alot of quality bass at daybreak there with pier boy specials. When I release the fish, instead of it heading for deep water or cover, they usually dart 20-30 feet from the boat, and sit. Is this usual, or territorial? I ask because for the next 5 years, my lake will be 20' lower than normal pool.
