  1. Welcome aboard, Fishing Cowgirl!
  2. Welcome aboard!
  3. Welcome from the Atlanta area! I agree, it is nice to see others from the area on here. Hope ya hook up with tnhiker44 and his "white, relatively clean, brand new Triton " (he sure seems proud of that thing don't he ) out there and enjoy a great day of catching some biggins.
  4. Thanks, I guess. BTW I purchased a BPS Signature Series XPS 6.6 M action rod. I think I am going to like it.
  5. I just put some on my real 2 weeks ago. It is a very strong line, no doubts there. Started out great but now it has a horrible case of the coils when it comes off the reel. I had been using the Cajun red high strength 14# and it was much smaller and more relaxed than the p-Line cxx 12# that I currently have on. I plan on going back to the red. I hope that you have a better experience than I did.
  6. LOL...Just spent another $100 on a rod and a pack of senkos. I am addicted. Wife will try to kill me but I am happy. Now to find enough space to stuff the worms into my box.
  7. Ok. I misunderstood. I do now. I will just continue to look for one that I feel is right for me. The noob thanks you.
  8. LOL. Good info Muddy. I think you passed. I am looking for what people like or dislike about the IM8 rods. Is it consistant? Does it have good accuratcy? I have noticed a few brands with a balance that does not feel right to me and a few that feel great when I was looking at them. I just want to get a general feel for what others think about this type of graphite rod. JB
  9. I have been looking at M and MH 6.6 IM8 baitcasting rods. I like the weight and feel of the rods. For those of you that have used one, what do you think about these?

Big M, I am blown away at the skill you have when making these things. I have never made one but you have sparked my interest. I have an artistic ability with drawing, painting and airbrushing. Would you mind pm'ing me with some tips about where I can get parts and some basic starting ideas (instructions) for me? My nephew recently sarted one from a scrap piece of 2x4 in the garage. I would love to be able to help him turn it into something that he could be proud of (I sure he will be anyways).
  12. He and his family are in my prayers.
  13. Ditto! Roll Tide!!!
  14. Shoot me some emails or pm me guys and lets see if we can hook up for some fishing.
  15. WOW!!!! Now that's a fish!
  16. I have had good success when using plastics during the rain. I have tried spinners and cranks with not much luck. I am no expert so this is a theory. I think a lot of it depends on what kind of surroundings are at the lake. Example: If there are a lot of over hanging trees at the lake, the fish at might be more adept to looking for critters that are falling from the limbs during a rain. Try fishing some lures that might resemble them, like lizards, small poppers or jitterbugs...things like that.
  17. You can also try Tribble Mill Park (Grayson) and Black Shoals (North Conyers, south Loganville). Both of these offer good public fishing and would be good for the kids.
  18. Thanks guys and Black Bass...I all ready do. RW, that is a nice set of Twinkies you are holding there.
  19. Hi all. I have to say that I am very impressed with this forum. Thanks to the knowledge of many helpful people and their posts, I have been learning quite a bit. My name is John, most of my friends just call me JB. I have been fishing off and on for 25+ years. I have never had the opportunity to get very involved in bass fishing but I now wish to learn all that I can and to participate more in the sport. Roughly 20 years ago I fished quite a bit, lived on Lake Logan Martin in Alabama and worked in a tackle shop there. I recently realized that I missed it a lot so I decided to get back into the action. I do not have a boat, so I mostly fish off the shores of small lakes and ponds in my area. I am looking for some people in my area to fish with and I hope to get the chance to get out on the water to learn and have some great fun. I offer a lot of thanks to those of you that have put in your hard work towards this organization.
  20. Black Shoals park has a great lake to fish from a boat with an elec motor and a few batteries. The avg bass seems to be in the 4 to 6 lb range there though it fishes a bit diff than most lakes in the area due to a lot of rocks. It also has lots of under water timber and some creeks coming in to it. I can get you in to a private lake in Loganville (it is where I caught the 8 punder on my profile pic) if you want to give it a try. I also have the ability to get you on to Norris Lake which is south of Snellville.
  21. Sorry to hear that you had a bad time out there. I used to live in Pell City, AL right on that lake. It provided some of the best stripe fishing that I have had to this day. I used to work in a bait and tackle shop there and I got to see many large fish pulled out of that lake. Good luck to you if you visit the lake again.
  22. Hey guys. I am new to the forum and wanted to say hello. I am also curious to see if anyone lives near my neck of the woods. Loganville, GA. I am looking for some fishing buddies.
  23. That is great. Congrats to your son.
  24. Glad to see your back home. God Bless every one of you guys for what you have been doing. Happy B-day to your son also! Good luck at the fishing derby and I hope that your daughters have a great time there.
  25. You guys are really making me want to try some night fishing.
