  1. so i was just wondering what type of line you put on baitcasters and spinning reels, and what types of lures and techniques you use on each. I figured I'd ask for askings sake...
  2. I use the original hooks until they get dull. then I'll change them out.
  3. Silvercliff, you aren't alone. I live in Pennsylvania, and I don't ice fish. I'm starting to go crazy also. About a month/ month and a half before I get my boat on the water. In the meantime, the bait monkey is killing me
  4. I like friday night on Versus. It's a good way to start the weekend
  5. lipless cranks (crawfish color)
  6. you definitely lose some of the fish being navy blue with the background. Maybe try more white and orange in the fish, or white and black. Or the orange "I" blue backgroung and the fish all white with black outlines. The arrangement of the logo is good
  7. So I had ankle surgery yesterday and I'll be laid up for a month. This isn't totally bad. I get to study about bass, maps, and everything bass related. And I could spend more time on bassresource.com !!!!! ;D
  8. I prefer to cast right handed then switch it to my left hand and reel right handed. I can cast with either hand on spinning gear, but only my right with baitcast. I have tried to reel left handed, but it feels really awkward.
  9. i bought a depthfinder late last summer, but I'm not getting it.I fish out of the back of my jon boat, and my transducer is mounted on the left side of the boat ( i clamp it there). I know you are supposed to look at structure and humps, dips etc. I still dont get why you would want to see whats directly under your boat. You cant fish under your boat. Please fill me in a bit. Thanks
  10. the water has a green tinge, you could see about 2 feet down, and the bottom is really mucky, and soft. It's in Northeast Pennsylvania, so I wont be fishing for another month or so.
  11. My home lake is 250 acres, manmade, and only 8 feet deep. It is known as being a good bass lake. I know bass move from deeper to shallow water depending on water temp and pre spawn, spawn etc. I was wondering is 8 feet deep still considered shallow water. The lake has no steep drops or ledges, no creeks in flowing, but it does have lots of vegetation( the whole lake bottom is weeds), and a decent amount of timber and stumps. Any thoughts, or how to break down the breedind cycle and where they would be would be great
  12. I have some line that is 1, and 2 years old. I keep them in my apartment, so they have been kept at room temp and out of the sun. Would they be ok to use, or should I buy new line, and use the old stuff for backing?
  13. i primarily bass fish so I don't spend a lot of money on trout gear. I have a 5 foot ultra lite shakespeare, and I use 4 pound mono. Its really all you need for small streams
  14. I like to collect old lures. Mostly stuff at garage sales and flea markets. I never use them though
  15. 1. Is it really tough as they say it is? 2. Is it as clear underwater as fluoro? 3. Would you use this instead of fluoro? Basically, for the same applications you would use fluoro?
  16. congrats. he's really cute. his eyes are awesome. good luck with him
  17. go to a pharmacy and ask if they have any silica packets they don't want. They are the little bags that say "do not eat". put a few in your box in different areas and trays. They absorb moisture, and they help keep things dry
  18. This past summer, I missed about 20 fish on hollow body topwater frogs. I don't know if I'm setting the hook to quick or not letting them eat it or what... Any suggestions or tips would be great. Thanks
  19. Gouldsboro Lake, tobyhana lake, white oak pond, Lackawanna state park lake
  20. I'm looking for maps for a couple lakes in my area, all I could find are topo maps of the land around the lake (not elevation, ditches etc in the lakes). What kind of map (or type) should i Be looking for? Can I find these on a web sitem or should i look somewhere else? Thanks
  21. Just wondering how old is too old for backing line? Would you use line that is one or two years old? I live in Northeast Pennsylvania, so I only fish 6 months out of the year, and I change my line twice a season... Thanks
  22. who in their right mind would actually talk about this topic on camera? I guess he has no shame...
  23. I have a 14 foot jon boat, and I sit on the back bench, with my trollong motor behind me. I was wondering where or how I could mount a fish finder, any suggestions? thanks!!!
  24. I was fishing at dusk one day and on a cast, I hooked a brown bat that was flying over the lake feeding on insects. That was a fun fight, but it sucked getting him off a treble hook.
  25. I usually bring my ipod. If the fishing is slow, a little music can pep you up a bit.
