If you pulled up to an unfamiliar lake, with no maps, no prior knowledge of the lake, and no electronics on your boat (sonar, and depth finders), how would you disect and go about fishing there. Basically, what would you look for, and how would you break down fishing there?

i would suggest this... All of the timber you put there is vertical to the shore line. I would put some stuff going horizontal to the shore line. in the 2nd picture, maybe put some timber across the stuff thats already there, so they have something to hide in to "ambush" prey...

My niece loves fishing with me and I want to upgrade her rod and reel. She is using a kid's rod and reel ( 3 ft rod and zebco reel). Should I get her a spincast or just a better rod with the same zebco reel? I know she's not good enough for a spinning or baitcasting reel yet. Any suggestions would be great.

I fish in a Jon boat, so leaning over while sitting to hand land is kind of risky (I don't want to end up in the drink). So I always net fish.

I find that if I stretch when I get out of bed, I feel a lot more energized than when I don't . i also stretch before fishing. Good topic, i bet not many people think about it.

Maybe try a plastic texas rigged with weight and drag it along bottom.
