  1. x2 on the Spro Aruku shad, and xcalibur xr50's. Basically anything NOT made by Bill Lewis.
  2. Love corn, peas, spinach, squash, virtually any vegetable. Good and good for ya!
  3. Got out today to fish, 3 hours. Skunked, but no problem (was limited to where I could go), and tried the KVD line & lure out along with #6 Yozuri Hybrid. Great stuff. The L&L kept the line limp as a ramen noodle. The hybrid line is really nice, and quite strong. Look forward to using these more.
  4. Alright, here we go, some great names!: Macky Suphachad Bossie Yunlong Beegie Nyklus Laksmono Wattie Or, Bob ;D
  5. High End - St.Croix Low End - BPS, Berkley, still decent stuff. Enjoy all.
  6. Ok, here's MY threat! I'm blowing up MY bass boat in protest while snapping every G.Loomis rod I own. That'll teach you guys. Just checked, no Loomis rods, and the bass boat is parked in the neighbor's yard. Oh, nevermind..............
  7. Glenn, I think, by and large all mod's here do a great job. RW sometimes shows his political virtue, and there is nothing wrong with it as long as it is kept 'generic', in whatever sense generic can be applied to political persuasions, but even Kent seems to toe the line. My opinion, which is not worth 0.02 cents minus a penny is to not allow anything that can become politically heated, in any sense. This is a bass forum, and the BEST bar none. Having a forum that delves into areas other than bass fishing is fine, but politics (like religion) merely begs for conflicts. You don't need it and we as the lucky recipients of your forums don't want it. Just MHO.
  8. Yep, walleye (have yet to catch one...), crappie, trout, GL perch, and the occasional small spot, which can be quite tasty.
  9. Try an Xcalibur xr50 in black/gold. You'll be quite surprised.
  10. Saw them twice in '77, once in Cleveland & again in Pittsburgh. Neither show was that great. Mr. Page didn't seem to be 'of a clear mind' at either show, so his playing was sloppier than usual.
  11. Root canals? Love 'em. Absolute blast, you'll enjoy it. Seriously, its either: a. Root canal/save the teeth/tooth OR b. Become close friends with Polident.
  12. Burley, I thought you quit smoking? :-X
  13. Thinking about taking a short break from cranks to try these, but after the search, I still don't have a solid idea on rigging them. I don't fish jigs, so won't be using as a trailer. I understand you can T-rig them, but they look a little big. I thought of picking up some baby paca's to use for smallmouths. Any help appreciated.
  14. sanother sitebasser is right, the President is a excellent, durable reel. If you shop, you might find it less than the $59 price. Another alternative is the Abu Garcia Cardinal 500albi. I've seen the guts of a 700lx and the 500 is nearly the same. Reeds sporting goods has 'em $10 off at 59.95, picking one up myself.
  15. Types of salmon (common in fish markets around me): Coho, Chum, Sockeye which is usually available for a short time during the year. To me Coho & Sockeye have the most distinctive flavor. Grill a salmon steak, and add a little dried dill towards the end of the grilling period. Serve with (preferably homemade) Hollandaise sauce or a Bernaise sauce. Both very good.
  16. Well, we could buy Citibank. Or BOA. Or both and throw in Merrill Lynch. Not that they would be worth anything, but we could fire all the execs. That would be fun.
  17. Seriously, I sat and thought about this while reading posts, looking a new fishing stuff. I love how many freely give information about virtually anything fishing. I love how even the cruel & caustic (Burly?) are really nice guys who share information and offer opinions. I love the camaraderie (no, I didn't have to look that up to spell it). I love the no BS when you've found you're doing something wrong, and others come along to explain it. I love the generosity (Muddy!) among all. I love the fact you can argue & still post and get along with the person you were arguing with. Thanks Glenn for this site.
  18. Thanks everyone for the tips & suggestions, I'll put them to use. Should have mentioned, the topwater is a Spro Dawg 100, baby bass. Nice finish, gammy hooks, so we'll see what its like in the water.
  19. Fecal Matter Yea, I'm serious.
  20. Oh, and BTW, for any smartypants, spring air is heavier and more cloudy than winter air. That should fix it, that and $99.95. Check the muffler clutch as well, that may be a real hangup.....
  21. Mr.LBH, the ubiquitous UPS man quotes: NO! The issue here is simple: Either the blinker fluid needs changing, or he needs to change from winter air to spring air in the tires. I know this stuff!
  22. IF you have to buy production, Dell is ok, HP is junk, crap components. If your son has worked on PC's, he can build one. Took me 2 hours to build my first one 28 years ago. If someone knows what they're doing, it's together in under an hour with quality, performance oriented components.
  23. Thanks Marty, I'll do that. I keep 10# CXX on my BC, but stay at 6/8# on spinning gear using Yozuri Hybrid, which is suppose to be buoyant.
