My New Rod From Otterods
Someone wanted me to post my new rod...so here you go! Sorry for unprofessional pictures! North Fork Composites IM Series SSP 768-1 7’6” Ex-fast action Mag-medium power 8 – 15 lb ¼ - 5/8 oz Reel Seat – Skeletonized Fuji ECS Guides – Fuji Concept titanium framed SiC guides spiral wrapped to the right. I had this one made for specicily throwing my lighter trigs. I wanted a rod that wasnt to over powering so I could still enjoy the fight yet if needed pull it away from trouble. Its actualy a Salmon blank

Texas Rig/crankbait Rod
It's adequate if you don't want to the spend the money

Texas Rig/crankbait Rod
A 7' MH fast action rod and just back off on your drag a little when you throw a crankbait. It'll work just fine
-
Core 51 Rival
The majority of my reels are Daiwa except my 3 cores

Shallow Vs. Deep Crankbait Rods
When I'm using a deep diver I like a more powerful rod (MH) to help with the resistance of the bait plus when setting the hook I have the proper backbone to get the hooks in good and bring the fish up. As for length anything above 7' is just fine but I'm more for accuracy then distance. Another benefit of having 2 rods is that you can keep 2 different style cranks on without spending the time changing. All that being said 1 rod will serve you fine if you dont want to spend the extra money

Core 51 Rival
I've personally never experienced those problems with the 3 I own so I don't have much else to comment to that other then Daiwas do take a little more getting use to then a Shimano, I agree on that
-
Core 51 Rival
Daiwa Steez is on sale at TW for $399...only $30 more then a core 50 NIB. Best $30 extra dollars you could spend If your looking at NIB anyways.

Farewell Calais
I'll do that within the next few days
-
Px Type R
Granted I don't use it for jerkbaits, it will make a fine jerkbait reel. 75 yards would be way more then I would need. I'm not sure what it wouldn't excel in other then maybe deep cranks

Farewell Calais
Mattman just sent me my rod he did for me last week! I'm not a huge shimano fan but that reel does get me excited since I first found out about it. Ive heard great things about it on another site, please let us know what you think.

P Line 100% Fluoro
It's the only line I like from them now but I only use it crankbaits though. Good line IMO

Extending Trolling Motor Cables
I was wondering if I can extend my trolling motor cables just by using a 10 guage jumper cable? It will only need to go roughly 6 feet and the it's 70lb 24v trolling motor.
