This is my 2nd year using him and I currently have a bunch of reels that just got done. Always a pleasure to work with him.

Shimano Core 50Mg Vs 100Mg...
I would get one of each! Honestly they feel pretty much the same other then I think the 50 feels slightly smoother plus I think it feels a little more solid in my hands ( if that makes sense ). I prefer the smaller reels for pitching cause there more comfortable in my hands. I've used the 50 to pull some big fish out of some pretty thick junk, no reason to think that its only for finesse

Is It Necessary?
Agreed, if you only want 1 rod it will work just fine. I used to say that to but over the years that I've dedicated to bass fishing ive found the need for more then 1. There isn't really any right or wrong answer

Any brand Fluoro in 12#, braid I use 50# in any brand. My personal favorites are pline fluoro and suffix braid.

St Croix................what Are You Doing?
I always just buy the Fuji hook keepers instead of using the one on the rod anyways A lot of my rods didn't even come with one so I just got used to them.

Florocarbon
12# for almost every application and I fish a lot of clear water in northern minnesota.

Cranking Reel
I loved the Crazy Cranker but as time went on I prefer a 6.3ish gear ratio for my crankbait needs. I don't deep crank much and like that I can pull in line a little more quickly If needed.

What Line For Crank Baits?
Daiwa steez 12# fluorocarbon last year but this year probably yozuri or pline 100% fluorocarbon in 12#.

Shimano Core Spool Disassembly
X2! Either way you can't go wrong but the PX in my hands has the slight increase in performance still ( assuming both are stock )

Left handed vs right handed Baitcasters
Im right handed and reel with my left hand. To me it just made sense because holding the pole is the hardest part and I want to use my strongest arm for that, reeling is easy Plus no switching of hands

Daiwa Fuego Or New Spinning Reel Models?
I love my fuego, I have the 2000 on the 6'10" M fuego rod. For the price you can't go wrong but I haven't got a chance to fish all the new ones either Some do seem interesting though.

Rod Selection
For me it depends on the cover and type of frog for me but my main hollow body and popper frog rod is a 7'3" XH but its more of a Heavy. More open water and a horny toad, smaller popper and even smaller hollow body frog a 7' MH rod works great for me. So anyways to answer your question I would go the 7' heavy route.

Southern Minnesota here! Same here, watching fishing and getting more fishing equipment I don't need cause I have to much time looking online.

In The Market For A Shakey Head Rod
+1 on St. Croix but I havent held or used the Powell or G. Loomis either though. I have to add one thing, You should take a look the Daiwa Fuego (http://www.daiwa.com/rod/detail.aspx?id=452) 6'10" M XF. It ended up to be one my my favorite rods for shakey heads

Rattle Trap Rod
Any MH fast action rod will work fine.

Bc Cranking Setup
I've had the St. Croix LTB in that action and was labeled as a "small Cranker". I'm not sure what you want to throw with it but when it means small Cranker its right on the money because it's meant for small shallow cranks IMO. Anyways that's the only experience I have close to what you want!
