  1. and the non-BFers arent going to listen to reasoned replies either...this certainly could be a logical discussion if people would leave ridicule out of it even though they dont believe bigfoot is a real possibility. i bet theres some folks here who are afraid to step forward with claims of bigfoot activity and sightings simply because of the ridicule being thrown around. those who ridicule have possibly removed the chance of others here telling their stories in this thread. while there is no body to study, there is other evidence out there thats hard to just ignore...
  2. bigfoots arent known to go threw trash and throw it everywhere, they have been observed taking trash out piece by piece and putting it back piece by piece to make it seem like they were not there, or just stealing it altogether.
  3. you perhaps saw a cloaked bigfoot, there have been stories about that and potential pics. apparently their supposed cloaking abilities dont work so well when moving... actually for the most part according to BF researchers it is very hard, game cams act as bigfoot deterrent for the most part, they may even destroy your game camera if mad enough have you tried gifting them?
  4. I added to the discussion, your quote deleted over half of my post to start with. I gave my opinion, no one said you had to like it or agree with it. but since you want more clarification, if the bass sucks in your bait your line is going to move the same distance into the fishes mouth in all likelihood and i dont think the line size is going to matter one bit at all. Why do i say this? because there are times where bass suck your lures in and spit them back out and you dont even know it and never will know it, didnt feel it, didnt see your line move, never knew a bass was there or had a clue you got a bite. and how do i know that? ever watch hook n look? or Zonas show with the cone thing used to peer underwater? the guy with the underwater view sees the fish eat the anglers bait and is yelling to "set the hook, set the hook, he's got it" and the guy with the rod is standing there doing nothing because he never felt the bite or saw his line move...
  5. this thread is a classic example of someone overthinking things and making fishing way more complicated than it has to be. just use what line size you feel confident using. and i dont care what kind of line you use or if you use a $20 rod or a $5000 dollar, what Catt says below is absolutely true...sensitivity is different for everyone as its related to the sense of feeling, just like every one doesnt have the same eye sight or hearing or sense of smell etc...
  6. drop shot purple worms like that guy made hank parker do on his show on the potomac...
  7. at some point youre just paying for the name and the experience is no more enjoyable than something a little cheaper...
  8. i faced the very same question myself a couple months ago, exact same two reels. in the end i decided to go with the original Presidents(i got 2) because of long standing great reviews, the LE while touted as better in some ways, has not had that test of time like the original Presidents... I wouldnt go bigger than a 30 size reel for that 6'6 ugly stik...
  9. I'm taking the Cobalt 10 times out of 10 especially since as you say it does the same thing, except its more reliable and fuel efficient, cheaper insurance, less in taxes, more room inside, etc. And if you had my commute from WV to Northern VA you would consider taking the Cobalt too. so actually i would find the Cobalt in more satisfying in this case. Bad analogy on your part. When it comes to reels, I dont see how that "Corvette" of a reel is more satisfying, plenty of "Cobalt" type reels out there do the exact same thing, cost much less money, and any upgrades in that "Corvette" are very very minimal when compared to that "Cobalt" (im talking reels not engines)...bottom line, your analogy actually works against your argument. If someone has the money to buy a $600 reel, good for them, but that doesn't mean its the best option at all... You make an excellent point, I agree with this and it applies to more brands than just Shimano...
  10. if you truely wanted to help your wallet(which im thinking doesnt really need help if youre even thinking of spending $300-600 on a spinning reel), then why not just get one of the reasonably priced yet great quality pfluegers for much much cheaper? if i had a million dollars i wouldnt waste that money on a fishing reel when there are way cheaper options that work just as good...
  11. i figured fishermen wouldve learned by now about keeping their phones in their pockets while on a boat...lol
  12. almost fell off a friends 14ft jon boat into a pond while boarding it, i was the first one getting on and i walked down to the other end of the boat pretty good, when i went to turn and sit the boat started rocking left to right back and forth as i would swing my weight the opposite direction to counter balance it, eventually i found the seat and the boat settled down also, not a boat but i did get thrown off a wave runner once while driving it. i was out by myself on it ripping up the lake when i "turned wrong" and went flying through the air, i have no idea how deep the water was but i never hit bottom. was wearing a pfd and came shooting back to the surface like a rocket with my hands above my head in case i happened to come up right under the wave runner, i didnt want to hit my head and get concussed or knocked out. got to the surface and the wave runner was about 15 feet away. swam on over and climbed back on. glad i was in a quiet cove just off the main lake that sees very little boat action. after that i would ride out to the cove shut the wave runner down and jump in the water and float around for awhile as the water was quite nice out there actually...
  13. those hooks are not missing the hitchhiker, they come the way they are. gun dog described how to rig them without tearing up your plastics. put the hook point through the end the eye goes, remove hook point, insert eye through that hole and then complete the t-rig as normal. the only real negative is once your plastic is tore up from catching a fish or so, then you have to cut it off, re-rig it and retie it
  14. torpedo or buzzbait or rage tail toads or the various rebel floater/divers. i got a lot of top water blowups on the rebels the instant they hit the water, youre likely to catch a lot of panfish with them too though...
  15. i dont know how true this premise is for largemouth bass, but it is definitely applicable to stripers stocked in lakes. Smith Mtn Lake has a slot limit in the winter requiring all striped bass 30-40" to be released, in the summer this is removed and you can keep any size striper. The reasoning is the same as above that the stress of catching the fish in such warm water temps often will cause it to die after released. it may not die then right away, it may not die at all, but could die a few hours later.
  16. there is also a couple episodes of Zonas show where he has this cone like contraption that they use to look underwater and get shots, not sure if its helpful to your need though
  17. i voted White Castle only because of Harold and Kumar. I've never heard of Krystal. actually i have had the frozen white castle burgers, but never even seen an actual franchise in person.
  18. i like my rapalas, but i seem to have always had a problem with the lips breaking off
  19. you really got to drive the hook home on frogs
  20. On an unrelated note, your avatar photo makes it look like you have bat wings growing from your head
  21. if it were the older model cardinals i would say go for it, but the newer modeled ones that been out the last few years just look cheaper. my older model has been a great reel though. more closer to the price range of the cardinal than the pflueger president is the pflueger trions if cost is part of your consideration into what reel to purchase. i have a trion that has held up very well and would recommend it or a president...
  22. i was going to get a President LE recently but wasnt sure if it would hold up to the same reputation as the regular presidents. thats even after reading up on it here and a couple other places so i just went with the regular presidents...i didnt read much negative about the LE, i think someone here did mention something with the handle stripping out on them twice, but i also saved myself a little cash by going with the regular presidents.
  23. as for when to set the hook, i never wait to set the hook on frogs. some recommend counting to 3 or something like that. but i figure once the lure is gone under water to set the hook immediately because by the time i count to 3 ive missed my chance and the bait has been spit. as soon as your frog dissappears underwater set the hook. though there is no guarantee he has the hooks in his mouth when it goes under, its got some part of the frog in its mouth for sure though...
  24. i'd tend to agree with this for the most part. in addition i think it has a lot to do with text messaging nowadays. no one wants to get caught up in a drawn out phone conversation when its easier just to send a text. I used to be the same way, I still am kind of, but now i just get it over with instead of sitting there obsessing over making the call. get used to it now i would say, you'll find out down the road you're going to need to call more and more people you don't know for various reasons whatever they may be, whether its stuff you need/have to handle, or if its just because you want to know something and/or want some information about something that you don't necessarily need to know but are curious about...
  25. this, sensitivity is mostly in the hands of the person holding the rod as i like to say...
