Question about rigging Strike King 4" Rage Tail Craws.
if youre referring to the baby rage craws, i prefer them t-rigged weightless on a 1/0 or 2/0 ewg gamakatsu. bring the hook point out of the top of the bait then lightly skin hook it on top to cover the point of the hook and keep it weedless. cant count how many times fish have grabbed it slowly sinking down after a slight jerk on it...i also fish them like a top water too, bass will come up and get it. its really versatile and can be fished a number of ways...

Prescription Polarized Glasses?
I got my prescription polarized sun glasses at walmart as well. the frames are ray ban and cost about $99 when i got them, but the lenses were expensive, overall it was like $450 for them. luckily my aunt bought them for me as a gift. you may also want to ask if there are any kind of discounts/coupons for them if you go there, that also saved some money...

Spinning reel suggestions?
i can assure the pflueger president is anything but cheap. i own 2 of them myself and they have been great so far, i say so far because i just bought them this spring. but in the end, it comes down to what feels good in YOUR hands. the members here can give you suggestions in all price ranges all day long, but ultimately its you that has to feel good about what you choose in the end...

Not sure what I did wrong. Bass died!
First thing i would say is, if you dont want to potentially injure or kill a fish, then dont fish at all. It happens to everyone for various reasons at some point in time. There is no need to be disgusted with yourself or feel bad about it. No one wants it to happen while catching and releasing, but at times its going to. Also, always have your pliers with you, even if the house is a few steps away. It may not have saved the fish to get the hook out quicker, but you never know...

Fishing heavy algae pond
i disagree with this. my line is not always tight when fishing top water, it really depends on your retrieve. at times i pause my top water for a few seconds and there is a slack bow in the line. i often get hit on the pause. or sometimes the fish swims right at you after hitting your bait, in such cases there is slack that has to be reeled up. im not going to wait for the fish to swim around and tighten the line itself before setting the hook because im "waiting for the weight", nope, fish will have spit it by then, im going to quickly reel the slack and set the hook as fast as possible. i also feel that youre just throwing percentages out there. because i do not wait once i see the bait dissappear underwater, that means the bass has it, why wait for him to spit it? i set immediately after the bait dissappears with no wait and have a good success rate thats certainly better than 50/50.

What should I be fishing right now?
really depends on what deeper water is to you in your lake. is there a thermocline? if so, you could be fishing too deep while the bass are suspended above the thermocline. while i wont offer a specific bait, i will say try fishing something that you can cover all or atleast several layers of the water column at once until you figure out where they are...

Help! My pond...
i wouldnt even worry about the bluegill just yet. i would first focus on removing any and all crappie that you can, they compete with the bass for food more than the bluegill. Then I would remove a bunch of the smaller bass as well. Those big bluegill will spawn a lot of food for the bass if they didnt have to compete with crappie, crappie are known to school up and obliterate bait/forage fish. crappie should never be in a small pond with bass if youre looking to raise big fish...

Amnesia
you just answered yourself. once you hook the bass your focus shifts from presentation to fighting/landing the fish...

Fishing heavy algae pond
i would not wait 2 seconds to set the hook, i do so immediately once i see the bait disappear underwater. that 2 seconds is 2 seconds longer the bass has to spit your bait. think of it like this, once you reel up any slack and start the hookset motion that two seconds has already passed, so i set the hook immediately with good success...

Something Scary Is Happening
i respect your and anyone elses right not to believe as well. but how do you explain the monstrous sized bare footprints and trackways found in the middle of nowhere. with strides that cant be duplicated by humans. and also the trackways go in a straight line one foot after another, not like a human trackway would be, or any other "known" animal. the rock throwing? what animal has the hands to throw rocks? i cant think of one. the howls/screams that vibrate through a persons body and come from something with a very large lung capacity? the whoops? what the hell in the woods whoops? the peanut butter jars people leave out, come back and check and theyre clean with the lid screwed back on properly? that takes hands as well. the numerous sighting reports(sure some are lies and hoaxes)? you cant attribute it all to "teenagers in the woods playing games". the samurai chatter talk? The tree knocks and rock clacks? Also, there are a few trail cam pics out there. Videos and pictures as well.

How much do you spend on tackle?
i maybe have spent $20 on tackle all year. i havent done much fishing this year though, and coming into the year i had all i needed to begin with. of course im not one to rush out and by the latest and greatest, heck i dont even buy everything i actually want to buy because i dont actually need it. the most expensive thing i've bought this year is probably a storm jointed thunderstick...

Something Scary Is Happening
i am not offended at all, honestly part of being interested in bigfoot is there is going to be ridicule. im just trying to share info i have read about and come across, at the same time just pointing out that you dont have to ridicule but can still discuss the subject logically even if you dont believe. i wouldnt expect most people to believe, especially if they havent had personal experiences. im not sure i believe 100%, but im certainly convinced BF could be a real possibility. also, if i were being sarcastic i would hope i was a bit funnier than what i wrote lol. ive encountered odd things in the woods that people have attributed to bigfoot such as a tree pulled from the ground and shoved back in the ground upside down with the roots in the air. at the time i didnt know that though. there is a trail through the woods i used to take as a shortcut to my friends house when i was younger, there is a certain area of that trail that made me feel like i was being watched and i was always a little uneasy going through that specific area. i cant say for sure either was a product of bigfoot with any certainty, but it does make me think about it. i have a cousin claim that something was jiggling his doorknob trying to get in his house one night, by the time he got to the door and looked out the window he says he saw a bigfoot walking off his porch and away from the house. i dont think this thread should be closed at all. i was not offended in anyway either. i was just pointing out that without the ridicule, more people might come forward with their stories...
