  1. I was really just curious about your impression of the reel. Would you buy another one?
  2. Have any of you used the Ballistic EX? I'm thinking about getting a 2500. I'm not a big spinning guy but I need a new reel. I can get the EX for about $140.
  3. Nope, it won't work. Tube jigs are strictly to be used on spinning tackle.
  4. Thanks, the info about the weight you casted was exactly the info I was looking for.
  5. You are right. I guess I'm speaking more from my own experience. To me, c-rig and ML spinning rod don't go together.
  6. I still have Torey Smith going for San Fran tonight. I'm not holding my breath.
  7. Very interested to hear your thoughts on the blank as it applies to BFS, once you've finished it of course. It sounds like a good choice.
  8. I think everyone is beating me, don't get too excited.
  9. If by Carolina rig you mean split shot rig, then yes.
  10. Let's go Cowboys!!!
  11. Hahaha, no problem!
  12. Mariota looked really good for TN today.
  13. I am interested in the Dobyn's 736 Glass that is supposed to be made for bladed jigs.
  14. The HD comes with a 100mm handle.
  15. It's not a problem. I just haven't done it this way before. It's good with me.
  16. Mine's working too. I looked at the settings and it's set for 1 point per 10 yds instead of .1 points per yd. It's working like it's supposed to, just different from what I'm used to. It's all good. That's why everyone's points are whole numbers without decimals.
  17. What's up with the scoring? Is it set not to count individual yards, only 10's?

Check this out, from Duo. http://spybaiting.com/gear/
  19. I use the 7'3" HXF Helium 3 for football heads in deep water. I find it perfect for dragging 1/2 and 3/4 oz baits. If you throw mostly 3/8-1/2 oz jigs on braid you could probably go with MH. The rod itself is very sensitive and great for that purpose. I use fluoro for all my jig fishing.
  20. The Rage in the St. Croix bargain room is the best $89 rod you will find.
  21. I started with a Zebco 33 Classic combo.
  22. How can you say that? If you've only ever owned Shakespeare and graphite Quantums, how do you know what "running with the big dogs" even means? You don't know what fishing a higher end, modern baitcaster is like. I promise I'm not trying to pick on you and I would never look down on someone for using whatever gear they like. I just hate to see someone who obviously loves fishing and fishing gear sell themselves short. You come online and give reviews of products without having anything to base those opinions on. I agree 100% with poisonokie. Take a look at Daiwa's T-Wing design. It allows the line to flow more naturally as it comes off the reel. You can get a new Tatula for under $100 on ebay. I promise you it's a better made, better designed, higher quality reel than those Super Casters.
  23. Then you aren't doing it right.
  24. That's funny. My favorite spinning rod is a St. Croix SCIII 6'10" MLXF.
