  1. Not very practical but genius none the less.
  2. No, he's a putz because he only gave Ray Rice 2 games and then back tracked when the video from inside the elevator went public and he acted like he'd never seen it. He then suspended Rice indefinitely, after public outrage. He's a putz for suspending Brady for 4 games and punishing the Patriots so harshly when he didn't have any hard evidence to support the NFL's case. When the appeal was made, Goodell was the one who heard it, seems fair. The punishment was unprecedented and his unwillingness to reduce it makes him look like a pouting child.
  3. It might also be worth checking at Dick's if you have a store close by. The stores here have the G Loomis GL2 rods at right around $100, including the swimbait rods.
  4. This, especially the Goodell part. That dude has to go. He should have been fired after the Ray Rice cover up.
  5. I like black and blue, in any combination and green pumpkin with an accent color, with a green pumpkin trailer.
  6. It looks great for your first, especially considering you used metallic. I would give you finish a few days before you do anything drastic. It might still harden up.
  7. That is very interesting. I'm not real familiar with Hydra but I've heard nothing but good things about ALX rods. I'm surprised they don't get talked about more.
  8. 8.1, the faster the better for frogging.
  9. I'm just going off of the rod building forums and the disappearance of the word "nano" on several rods. I have no real inside info. At any rate, my guess is, all these companies, (Loomis, St. Croix, Phenix, Lamiglas, NFC, etc) are using very similar carbon fiber scrim and high-tech resins in their flagship rods.
  10. Pure Fishing signed an exclusive contract with 3M. No other companies are allowed to use their resins anymore.
  11. Upper 90's here for at least another 3-4 weeks. Business as usual.
  12. St. Croix uses a carbon scrim on their scv blanks. They just aren't allowed to call it "nano" anymore.
  13. Labor day is still 6 days away, TW doesn't start this early.
  14. It sounds like 'dropshot40' knows what he is talking about. If that is true, the Elite is probably a pretty nice rod, especially for the money.
  15. I've only had that one package get held up that long and I've bought a lot of stuff from Japan over the years. It's also the only package I've ever been charged duties on. I doubt the shipping location matters much, assuming it gets shipped properly to begin with.
  16. Yeah, I remember your original post now. I wouldn't use them again either.
  17. If it got held up in customs, the seller didn't have anything to do with it. I had a reel from Digitaka get held up for over a month, just luck of the draw.
  18. The swimbait rod is the only GL2 I would consider. Luckily my Dick's happens to have one, might have to pick it up.
  19. I felt bad for BP, he fished a great tournament and had a great season. At the same time, I was happy for Faircloth too, he's had a tough year and this finish will give him a shot to sneak into the Classic. His weights got bigger every day while most everyone else's dropped. What can you say about Aaron Martens? He's had one of the most dominating seasons in Elite history. He's always been a great fisherman but he's finally got the mental toughness needed to take it to the next level. It's been awesome to watch and with BASS Live, you finally can.
  20. Awesome baits, worth twice the price.
  21. I can almost guarantee you that the rod goes through the handle. The vast majority of rods are made that way. I wouldn't worry about that.
  22. I don't have any experience with the Mojo's but they will definitely be a step up from what you're using now. I will 2nd Bluebasser's recommendation of the Rage line of rods. I bought a 7'11" HMF a couple of weeks ago and the rod is great for the price. It is cheaper than the Mojo and has a better blank. The free hat is actually decent too.
  23. Why do you think the blank stops at the grip? Did you break the rod?
  24. Pay attention to the lure rating and forget the power rating.
