Lowrance Spotlight Scan
Does Lowrance still have the spotlight scan? Is it compatible with the HDS Live? I personally would prefer the spotlight scan to the new livesight. I would rather have a better image of the bottom in front of me than seeing live fish.

Trolling Motor
Great debate: buy trolling motor now without spot lock or wait till December or January for the new motorguide or lowrance trolling motor. Planning on upgrading to Lowrance TI2 depth finders.

Considering a new Depth Finder
Unless you want to network your bow and console unit the Hook units are just fine for fishing deep water. I would get a larger unit but other than that just make sure you get one that has side imaging.

Boat Trouble no fishing for months
I had a Terrova with spot lock on my boat. twice since owning it a wakeboard boat would fly by me while I was cruising down lake and the wake would hit so hard that the trolling motor would would unlatch and go into lake. When this happened I would kill the engine but the forward momentum still bent the shaft to pieces. The first time this was under warranty. The last time happened last month and is out of warranty. Not only that but the last time the control module and head of the motor broke off as well. It will cost more to repair the motor than to replace it. Since I want to have lowrance electronics I am not without a trolling motor until the lowarance ghost comes out. They have moved the date from October to December release now. So I have tried to go fishing without a trolling motor using my anchor but it is not the same. So until the new trolling motor comes out and I can get it installed I am lost. The worst part is that the dealer told me that if I had added a secure holder for the trolling motor like you see on pro walley boats or pro bass boats that it would void the warranty.

Deep Jig Rod
I would not recommend the Curado. It is not the same as the old Crucial. The sensitivity is not the same. I believe they made it more indestructible this loosing sensitivity.

Favorite chunk trailer
What is everyone’s favorite chunk trailer these days?

line weight for deeper diving crankbaits
That line would work well as it is around same diameter of Trilene xl and / or stern mono. Which is usually the basis of Crankbait depth testing. They test using the 10lb line and your 12lb flourish is almost same diameter

Have you seen this reel yet?

Best Places to Fish and Launch on Lake Limestone (TX)
You would be better off asking that on TFF. Might try to post this in the regional forum. Never been to that lake so I can’t help you.

Buying used rods and reels
I buy most of my reels used on this forum. Since I don’t buy high end rods I usually buy them when on sale, or get the last of the older model when they update.

KVD moving to Lew's
I am wondering what is going on with Quantum. In last year or two they have lost all the pros that have been with them for 10 or more years.

Question on brand choice
You don’t want to do that. That’s how the bait monkey gets you. Once you try something new it becomes a virus that takes over your mind and wallet.

Working Class Zero
Where do you get them because they are sold out on their website

Storm Arashi deep Crankbait being discontinued
Just got notice from tacklewarhouse that the storm Arashi deep crankbaits are no longer going to be made. I really like these because the always run true with that special bill and line tie system.

Sunglasses$$$!!!???
Never hear of eye surrender. I have used Oakley, Costa, and Wiley X. I prefer the Costa and Wiley X. I use the Wiley X when on plane as it protects my eyes more from debris or splashes.

Braided Line Selection
8 carrier an be less noisy. Otherwise I see no benefit. I have tried many of them and keep trying new ones as they come out. I keep falling back on Tuff Line XP which is a 4 carrier braid. Nothing gives me the sensitivity and the control as much as this line. Never had any issues with or a bad batch. Some people prefer braids with some sort of coating. I just prefer regular braid. I freely admin though that Dodgeguy has much more time with braid and experience than I.

Single tail or double tail Curly Grubs
Single tail will usually have a larger thicker tail this moving more water and creating a larger disturbance and more water displacement. Better for muddy or dirty water. For clear water and fishing on bottom with a jig twin tail as trying to represent either craws or baitfish so the twin tails can be pinchers or rigged sideways can be the tail.

God I love Pflueger but...
It used to be that pros would start with pflueger and allstar or fenwick rods. Then when they started winning or got big name recognition they would be moved to Abu.
