  1. Indeed! I always try to stay around the price range when posting. My first setup combo was the Gander Mountain Tournament supposedly now the GSX Tournament that I posted for $79 and now made by Quantum? I bought mine about 4 years ago. The reel still has same features and bearing. I still use my combo. It's my wacky setup. I wouldn't hesitate on buying another combo.
  2. I'm guess it's just depending on your Dick Sporting Goods store. Some of our VA store didn't even do the sale. Maybe PM J Francho and maybe he will let you know when and if he can gets any more Citica or Curado. Other than that You might either have to keep checking different stores out or call them. Good luck on finding what your looking for. I had to settle for the $139 Curado 200E5 price when I bought mine last week.
  3. Anything like this one?
  4. I always toss mine and reel it just fast enough so I can feel the vibration in my rod. I might burn it sometimes or even let sink and try to work the bottom with it. What color chatter did you get and what brand? some say knocks isn't always good. Chatterbaits are always my favorite bank attack when coming to small ponds. You might just have to experiment with your retrieve and different trailers as well, from flukes, Magic Shad, curl tails, craws, to split tail. I always had luck on white or white/chartreuse with a matching Live Magic Shad. Lately been tossing out black/blue with no luck but might not be in the right conditions for that one. I never tried around the lilies just the outside of them with no luck. Also don't be alarm if have a catfish on the end of your line!!!
  5. Welcome!! Another one from VA!!
  6. hahahahaahah
  7. I do like the finger grip above the trigger. I wonder if that really makes a difference or helps?
  8. I heard people using them 3 to 5 feet up from lure or so. What color marker, Green?
  9. No bull I wasn't a fan of either Citica or Curado when messing with them in store on that short handle rod rod thing but when I cast my curado 200E5 yesterday at the pond I was fishing, I was amazed how smoothed the Curado really was. I'm with anyone that says take the reeol your looking and place on a rod at store or whatever. There is a BIG difference there!
  10. On the Kopper did it make a difference or can you tell if it did? I thought about trimming mine.
  11. Cool Cool did you buy it new or from one of the Richmond boys? If want a new and don't mind use PM stjohn13 he had a Vendetta he offer me. I couldn't afford it cause I spent to much on my new combo already. He never did give a price but check with him and see if suitable for you! He said he will sell it cheap and you being in same area picking up should be cheaper than mailing. Congrats on the new reel! Me I just went broke spending more than I should already. GTG back to Dragon: Bruce Lee Story it's on tv.
  12. Congrats on the catch!! I like the block wall, what is this place you fishing at?
  13. Speaking of digging my XPS braid in 30# did that for the first few trips when I first got that line. Then I switched to Power Pro, cheap at Walmart and wanted to try it. I don't recall any digging in either the two Kaotic mention.
  14. I like both. I got 50# Power Pro for jigging and it does well for me. I have Sufix 832 50# for frogging. My problem with 832 is the fading. If do get Power Pro check out Walmart for their prices I bought my spool for $13 last year. I've read 832 was meant for sinking?? Here is a topic on braid Are you using it on the Carbonlite? If so I never tried flipping/pitching on my Carbonlite but I heard it wouldn't be good cause of the drag power, 8# drag. If still want to try it , try this .RM. suggestion on flipping Or did you get another setup?
  15. Did you trim the Koppers also?
  16. They claim you don't have to trim the legs on Koppers but I kind of think I might on mine. I had a hard time walking it actually did better with rod tip up. But recently I've beem getting better at walking my Spro65 after I trimmed legs so next time might try the Kopper again before doing anything to the legs. I might needed more practice. Here is the one I got. The Evolve might be another to look at. Hooligan spoke pretty good on them so next time I might order me the Ghost. Here was the post we had on the Evolve Nervous Walking frog. Here is the Evolve Nervous Walker frog Ghost http://www.***.com/Evolve_Nervous_Walker_Frog/descpage-VNWF.html
  17. Tell ICU, He's ridin SOLO!! lol
  18. Tell ICU ROAD TRIP!!
  19. Yea first time I fished there frogging was great then it just stop. Yesterday I only landed one but had missed several hit on my Deps Soft Crawler, Spro65 Midnight walker and Leopard. Some how my leopard has cuts on the bottom of it not sure if a toothy fish did it. Man it was walking real nice too. I lost one on the Deps that had a real nice blow up close to the boat but I didn't get to see it. It was real nice knowing the have a 4# in there at least. I knew they had bowfin in the 4# range caught one two years ago that size. Thanks ICU!
  20. Whatever happen to BrentB?? Is he still a member?
  21. If ever used Shad or Herring make sure it's fresh. Spinners and Chatterbaits does the trick for me,lol. For real though I ave caught cats on em. If I'm going to a stock ponds minnows work for me. Outside of that cut bait or liver.
  22. I would say the Abu is but I would think what I offer for in my post would be better and only $10 dollar more than what they want for the Abu and what Packard post is an excellent reel and probably a better rod as well. I had some Pflueger rods that I thought was decent. My brother is also using that same combo Packard mention and loves it. It's the same price as what the Abu is and from Cabela's as well.
  23. Bowies pond
  24. I went to Bowies Pond today off of rt 2. Been wanting to go back but my luck went from good to bad in the last two years. The stumps are still there, lol. Bump I don't know how many today. I got there around 7:30 and left at 12:00. The water temp started at 77 degrees and reach 80 if that is right. i only manage 3 for the day, A 4.9 bass which ties my PB(I'm stuck on 4#, 3 this year and 4# bowfin both came off the wacky, Senko's Plum Apple. I finally did land my first Deps Soft Crawler fish. I fish mainly the lilies with frogs and wacky the outside edge of the lilies. I tried jigging and wacky around a few fallen trees and stumps that I seen. I tried a Spro Prime crankbait 2.5 in gold/black around the edge of lilies but nothing took. I just actually was trying out my new crankbait combo I just picked up. Sorry for the wrong date. God I really hate this camera. Stupid cheap kodaks. Just realize my glasses was crooked. 4.9 Bass 4# Bowfin the mouth of the bowfin Deps Soft Crawler frog
