Ive gotta do something with this bait monkey!!
WOW, you have the she monkey too. My wife never into fishing just went out and had me buy her the extreme combo, a few lure, and few other things and tells me I'm really getting into this fishing thing. Oh crap over $200 on her and maybe $30 on me. At least she sees my point pn how easy it is blowing allot on fishing gear, it just was on her and not me. NOT FAIR!! Oh well I'm happy for her she rarely gets anything for herself. It also give us some time together till I get in golf. ..."But please woman no more backlashes. I do have better things to do on the water than fool with your reel"...

baitcaster, backlash
I just got my wife the extreme combo. It seems ok. She was tossing the small bombers. She did also have a few backlash problems but she isn't use to fishing in general. I see where most says setting the brakes on 9. I have hers on i think 8. Now the pro qualifier I have and love. I have the 7.1:1 and used it for wacky tossing out yum's stickworm, 4" and 5" senkos. The pro qualifier is my frog setup so it's line with 30lb braid. I really like dbs braking, so easy to use. Another nice reel is carbonlite, I have that too. But your looking at if still the same price $119 for carbonlite compare to $79 for pro qualifier and $59 for extreme. I would get the pro over the extreme if can. Rcx is post to be a nice reel to if not minding purple.

Which Frog?
I just might have to try the ribbits. I went out today and for an hour using the rage tail probably for the most of it. I had some hits but nothing took. It was mid day.

X-factor plastics any good?
Haha! Don't you hate when that happens. Do though post a review on the reel and let us know how you like it. Did you get the rod too or at least any plastics?

Removing the skirt from a chatterbait and replacing with a swim bait, have anyone tried?
Has anyone tried this before where you take the skirt off a chatter bait and use the chatter head on your swim baits? How did you like it? This is a video on the topic.

Which Frog?
I only used the rage tails so I'm not sure bout the rest and my biggest was a 4 lb bowfin. I liked the rage tails but landed more bass with the spro.

What baits do you throw on really windy days?
I know I came close to dropping the anchor on several occasions but instead I fought with it. Like a dummy I was trying to jig.

BPS Pro Qualifier
I am a BPS fan. I am a huge fan of the PQ and many of their soft plastics. Most of the stuff I buy is from the local store (3 hours round trip). I have always been satisfied with the service. Buying on-line from them is sometimes necessary, but their shipping costs and delivery times compared to Tackle Warehouse are not very good. I would insist on speaking to a manager and explain the issue to him. I would expect them to do the right thing. I'm so glad i live about 35 to 40 minutes from mine. 3 hours is a good hike. You must make sure your loaded with cash when go. How's the store there in Illinois?

bps xps fluorocarbon
I really like it. I have the 12# on my carbon lite setup and no problems yet. So far it really seems very strong and I yet had that nick and fray problem people have mention and I'm pulling up branches, fishing lilies, and off rocks. I have only tried one other flouro so can't really compare it to anything else but I will continue to buy this brand.

Fishing the Ni Res(va)
Me and my brother went out today on the Ni and boy a day with a few fish, frustration, and unfortunate mishaps. I only caught two for the day. 1 rock bass i think that what it was on the wacky and 1 pickerel on my rattle trap. My brother caught 4. 2 bass,1 pickerel on wacky, and 1 crappie with my rattle trap. The biggest being 2.6 which was his catch. We was moving down the lake till I spotted a fish on my depth finder right on the drop off so I told him to toss out his wacky worm. Next minute I know he's yelling got him. I was fed up by then no fish for me and he has four. So I moved on to the lilies, tossing out the rage tail frog. I had hits but nothing took. I finally gave up and moved on again. While leaving I manage to tangle my line around my trolling motor. Here I am untangling my line and "POP" went my seat. I'm d**n near in the water, just my back in. I almost cap size my jon boat, close to knocking my brother in. Now my backs in and I'm trying to balance my self with legs afraid to grab boat cause it would had flipped over. My brother had to crawl-like on other side of boat and get over to me to pull me in. I was thinking to myself there's fish with teeth in these waters. Luckily I didn't go in fully and I did had my rain suit on so I didn't get my shirt wet. After that you would think one wouldn't use the seat again, haha right. Out the seat i went again but catching myself this time. Pheww two close calls. Finally though I did manage land my first fish and was leaving time for us so as I was leaving I tossed out my rattle trap to troll with it. got all the way to docks and nailed a pickerel. Happy to end the day with two but the trouble i had with the pickerel. I had him hooked. One treble hooked with two barbs in bottom lip and the other barb in top lip. The other treble hooked in his eye and head. Here's the pics I took of my pickerel and my brother bass but now do I wish to had my brother take a pic of my falling out of boat. Also the worst part being beat out by your brother is he was catching them on my poles not his. He did hooked another 2 pounder or so on my rattle trap but lost it right at the boat.
