Took my canoe out today at the pond/small lake behind my house. I moved there last year (NJ), and I never caught anything over 2 pounds out of it, and its filled with pickerel. This guy told me last year that he used to catch 5 pounders out of here, about 20 years ago. Anyway I pitched a rage tail lobster into these isolated pads in about 10ft of water.....and boom!!! I thought it was just a big snot rocket, and I saw the head come up, and I said OMG!! Then the adrenaline started pumping, she was barely hooked in her bottom lip. I got her in the boat and started screaming with joy. Weighed her (4.13) and realized that I didnt have my camera. And of course I dont have a camera phone. I'll quickly released her, and immediately called my dad at work. And I beat my dads PB (4.7). LOL but he said no proof? she was maybe 20 inches with a huge belly! First good size bass this spring. Caught only one other bass about 2 pds, but cant complain. Overall great day!!! And this was all on my First baitcaster setup!!! felt great Wish I had a pic!!

  4. x2, I had the curado in my hand, and instead got the STX. I like the STX, but I will never know if the curado was for me.
  5. x2, I wasted my brand new spool of braid on my brand new STX On the "last" cast of the day, that I just had to make. Braid/Fluro can be expensive. I reccomend like 14 #. mono, such as Trilene.
  6. Way to go guys, I cant wait till I hook my first smallie!
  7. LOL, x2 thats what I thought
  8. I've saw that floating around on some posts on bassnj.com forum.
  9. many factors: Wind, current, depth, type of cover your fishing...etc try to get away with the lightest weight possible! check out these links: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/worm-fishing.html
  10. yea, it was a pretty nice gash.
  11. I love Fishing, but being from one of the 5 boroughs of NYC, you don't see many kids into fishing!

  13. I just recently bought the stx, but I was going to get the curado but didnt like how it palmed in my hand. The lightest reel of the ones you mentioned above is the Abu Garcia Revo Premier. Zillion: 7.1:1 (8.8oz) 6.3:1 (8.6oz) Curado e7: 7.6 oz. premier: 6.7 oz.
  14. I got the Abu Garcia STX for $160 at BPS on saturday in Harrisburg, PA
  15. Thats pretty cool. What episode is it (location/city). I watch City Limits all the time.
  16. Thanks, the price isn't really the issue since I work, I think I'm going to go with the curado. Any suggestions on rods (Carbon-Lite, Pro-qualifier, st. croix Mojo, falcon low-rider/shimano).
  17. I Plan on getting something that could throw weightless plastics/worm fishing/jigs. Is the curado good for an all around setup? Even though it has a high gear ratio. I plan on getting a M or MH rod.
  18. Hey everyone just wanted your opinion. I am fairly new to baitcasters, been practicing on my brothers Plueger this past season. If you had to choose as pretty much a beginner, what would you go with the curado e7 or PQ? I have heard great reviews on the pro qualifier ($100) but I know it cant compete with the Curado e7 (but is $80 more)! Or possibly the Citica. Curado e7 vs. revo sx? Pezz, Thanks!
  19. Looks pretty cool.
  20. of course! NYC is my Lunkerville... especially Central Park... we've done 3 episodes there with another coming this season... check them out on our website if you don't get WFN. Cool man, I just watched the central park episode!
