What is your favorite monofilament line?
Reel Magic and other silicone sprays degrade the line slightly. The negative effects your Buddy is talking about are greatly exaggerated though. KVD on the other hand is a polymer that bonds to the line, conditioning and protecting. KVD is the way to go.

Musky rod as an occasional swimbait rod?
If the lure weight will load and cast the rod, absolutely.

smallest knot
I use a regular Albright with no problem and better yet straight braid.

Has Anybody Used One of These for Knot Tying?
This worse than the line threader Dave Mercer is hawking.

Is a medium + power rod as versatile as a medium heavy? (Both fast action)
Forget the labels they’re all subjective. 1/4-1 oz is a broad range which could be versatile IF its accurate.

Fishing rods have been outside for whole winter will they be ok?
They’re fine

Medium or Medium Heavy Fast Action Rod for 1st Baitcaster
It depends a lot on the brand and model. A St Croix MH is pretty stout by comparison for example. The size of the baits, cover and fish size matter as well.

Sub 4oz spinning rods
Have you weighed these yourself? I find it hard to believe a 7’ sc2 with aluminum oxide guides came in under 4oz.

Delaware Valley Tackle
I did reply with the tracking that showed it delivered. Call me directly.

Switching to mono
I highly doubt the line is the reason for your decline in catch rate. Mono is used as backing to keep braid from slipping, not visa versa.

Why Anti Reverse
And we’ve still got a month until ice out

Why Anti Reverse
These are some real first world problems.

MBR Question
MBR is like every other designation on rods in that it means whatever the maker says it means. It’s subjective with no definition or industry standard attached. When blank shopping, MBR labeled blanks are usually in the “casting rod” powers and actions, which by the way are not limited to extra fast.

Bass pro pro qualifier 2 baitcaster
Similar is putting it politely, but yes.

Spinning reel grease and oil.
There’s no such need or requirement to use different grease in casting and spinning reels. Cals, Yamalube, Superlube are all good choices.

Disillusioned by new Shimano Vanford 500 vs Lew's Wally Marshall Signature Series 50
These two reels are not apples to apples in any way, shape, manner or form. There is no argument to made for felt over carbon drag either. Carbon drags are not all about power, but rather smoothness and consistency from let off throughout the range. An inexpensive reel can no doubt be serviceable if that’s what fits your budget, but to some level you do get what you pay for. Even if longevity is the main advantage that’s a substantial advantage to many (but admittedly not all) users.

Clicking sound from baitcast reel - play in spool bearing
What you have going on there requires some investigation. There’s no room for bearing play with the spool installed. If you’re shaking just the spool what you possibly hear is the bearing behind the pin moving on the shaft. That’s normal. Check the spool rim and frame for debris, dents or dings.

Felt or fuzz inside Stradic
Replace the felt with Carbontex. Cheap and effective upgrade.

Left my drag tightened down over winter ....
Drags should never be set and have need to achieve full lockdown. I doubt there’s any permanent damage. If they don’t have carbon drags it’s an easy and affordable upgrade.

Fuji PULS Seats
The ACS is a love it or hate it proposition. I’ve yet to hear anyone express ambivalence regarding them.

Rod Blank Painting?
If you go the decorative wrap route, yes, the same thread finish is used.
-
Rod Blank Painting?
You can wrap and finish if it makes sense considering the gap length. You could add inlays or do a tiger wrap

Application specific rods what does it mean?
You can “make do “ in pretty much any facet of life. It might be out of necessity, responsibility or preference. We here on BassResource.com are a small fraction of the angling market. The vast majority have little to no idea what we’re talking about most of the time so I can see application labels being helpful from that standpoint. I haven’t gotten the impression from manufacturers that technique specific rods are a necessity or of them labeling identical rods for different applications. That would be disingenuous for sure.

Application specific rods what does it mean?
Are you saying the side imaging hype is real?

What’s the last rod/reel you purchased that you ended up regretting?
I told you I’d leave them to you in my will. Since then I’ve found ice on my front steps and my brake line cut. What are the chances?
