  1. I went fishing yesterday and tried both ways. Shaded black(camo) and about 4 feet of straight black. They both seem to make the line less visible I think the patrially colored would be good around vegetation and the solid black in deep water or stained. But the both break up the outline of the braid nicely.
  2. I'm definately leaning towards what your saying. Up until now I've used leaders except on topwaters over heavy vegetation.
  3. I've never tried it but I'm seeing a lot of people doing it. They say it makes it less visible. I would imagine it would black doesn't stand out as much as green but its probablÝ a slight difference.
  4. Guess I'll have to try this weekend with and without and see what happens. What about coloring with a sharpie worth trying or not?
  5. Is there ever a time you would use one? I mean most people I talk to or shows I watch seem 50/50. It make sense that its more difficult for fish to see mono or fluro than braid.
  6. One of my reels is spooled with braid (green). I use it around weeds and topwater frogs and such with no leader. My question is if I'm using it in open water for jigs do I need a mono or fluro leader? Or can I just black out the first few feet with a sharpie? I've seen both ways I'd like to not have to use a leader just because its another possible breaking point. Any opinions?
  7. I figured they would probably be a decent bait but was wondering about the action. What frog they compare to as far as sound, and how they are in heavy cover.
  8. N/A - Any Vitamin Water Hard liquor - JD n coke Beer - New castle, Guiness, Sam Adams (any).
  9. Anyone use this yet? I just saw it at tackle warehouse and its the first I've seen of it. Just wondering how it is and any additional info?
  10. My favorite chain would be pizza hut. But small timers in my state would be Fillipo's great all around food. Pizza's are awesome. Chicken alfredo, hamburg, BBQ chick, Buffalo chicken, chicken parmesan to name a few. Great stuff!!!
  11. Couldn't have said it better.
  12. I carry 3 types rage toad, zoom, and stanley ribbit. There all good baits and will all catch equal fish on one day or the next. Some just have there day were the fish may like one better than the other.
  13. I agree. Suspending baits are good when your targeting an exact depth and need to keep it there. Also there usually fished in open water because of there more likely hood to get hung up. Floating cranks are nice around timber an such because they can float up and away from the snag.
  14. All you can do is try different cadences and retreval speeds. But I would say try doing it early morning that's when topwater is best or later evening/night. I've never done well in the afternoon
  15. I was watching a show and the guy was talking about a 10 powerworm as a trailer. Never know till you try.
  16. Stanley ribbit. When the bites on there's no other way to have more fun than a topwater.
  17. Had a friend get a pair from Wallmart (20 bucks)said he could see pretty good in them. I have a pair of oakleys and a pair of wiley x. The oakleys were 180 the wiley x were free but retail for 125 both polarized and I like the wiley x better for seeing into the water there a lot crisper. Wish I could be more helpful.
  18. My sympathy goes out to you. Its not an easy thing to go through. I lost my childhood dog 3 years back to cancer. Took me 2 years till I could get another. Just didn't feel right getting another one right after. Still miss him but my new pup is great.
  19. Honestly I haven't used one or any senko type baits at all this year. Most of my plastic have been rage craws space monkeys and some frogs. But I would agree that it would be a good bait to go to when not much else is working that and a follow up bait (wacky rigged) to a missed fish.
  20. About six feet deep. 8-) Well that's helpful. I was just wondering if you were at the place I normally go to for smallies. Couldn't tell by video.
  21. Nice video! Where did you guys catch the smallies?

Perfect so 3/0-5/0 seems to work. I have plenty of the 3 and there all owner twistlocks. Excited to try them out. May have to try the wacky rig also. Thanks

What hooks are you guys using? Weighted, unweighted, flipped? I have two packs in my bag for the past year and haven't even tried them but I'd like to give them a shot. Just wondering how everyone prefers to rig them.
  24. I would say color matters the least when it comes to topwater. When you think about it most of your topwaters are loud buzzbaits, frogs, poppers, even spooks. There's a lot of splashing and comotion. I think they key in on that first color is secondary if at all. Just my opinion based on what I've seen fishing.
  25. Topwater should be nice. I'd try some buzzbaits, frogs(stanley ribbit) go for something noisey cranks with rattles. I'd go natural colors with some good fleck. I like bright colors on bright days.
