  1. I've used high speed reels for cranks, frogs, flippin & pitchin, etc. High speeds are great. Like dave said its easier to slow down a high speed than speed up a slower one.
  2. Well Anytime turned into about 9 days, But he's finally here that's right He (got my fishing buddy). 8lbs 2oz. Can't believe I'm a DAD!!!!!

Ya I plan on running HDMI cables I have them on my main T.V. I have Fios as my carrier. Looks like I'll be getting the LED. Samsung seems to be the top LED manufacturer from reviews and what I've been reading.

Right now I have a toshiba LCD for my main TV. This one is gonna go in my bedroom so its not gonna be very big but I still want a nice crisp picture. They say the LED backlights make for a more vibrant picture. Any confirmation?
  10. There you go *** CLOSE to 5x not 6. But in my opinion a better product than BPS lead weights. I also think lead chips a lot easier therefore leaving line vulnerable to fraying. Just my opinion though. The other thing is if there is no more lead fishing companies will have to manufacture tungsten and probably have to do it at lower prices to compete.

So I'm in the market for a new TV. I've been looking at LED's anyone have any advice or comments, anything on them? I've been looking at the samsung models.
  12. I don't know why everyone gets all worked up about banning lead in fishing. I use tungsten for whatever I can. Its smaller and more sensitive. Plus how can other alternative metals cost 6 to 15 times more. Tungstens already out and I'm not paying 6x the price of lead nevermind 15. More like a couple bucks.
  13. I've had some good success this year throwing frogs over matted up vegetation.
  14. Yup I would say tension knob is the first place to look. Tighten it alittle more see if the noise is still there.
  15. Rc 1.5 is one of my favorite shallow cranks. definatley worth the money.

Any lure can get caught up when fished in heavy cover. But to not fish a jig because of it is a mistake. For light to sparse vegetation you can use a bulkier jig n trailer when cover get dense you need to use a more compact jig n trailer. The weight of the jig can also play a role in fishing different covers
  17. Flukes n cranks!
  18. Absolutely I haven't had a problem. I use it for flippin and often throw 1oz weights with texas rigged soft plastics.
  19. I guess dynamite may not have been the way to go in that incidence! Love the sound of raining whale fat.
  20. I say go with the Stx. I think its a better reel for equal price. I have one and love it. Neither one is a bad choice though.

I agree with all the above. I'd say start off with a deep crank then if there not bitting that slow down with a plastic or jig. But def try deep parts first.
  22. Ya I just got my e-mail on my phone can't wait to go home and put together an order of epic proportions. Haha stupid monkey.
  23. Thanks for the heads up. Glad you caught it in time.
  24. I guess that's one way to put a whale out of its misery. wouldn't want to be on that clean up crew though.
  25. Ya I'll agree with that. My grandparents always loved having us over but it was probably because they knew at the end of the day we were going home!
