  1. Not at all I'm looking forward to having a kid but I know the headaches me an my brother probably gave our parents. I'd say we account for well over half there grey hairs.
  2. I think learning how much pressure to apply to the spool and when is the trick to baitcasters. Everything else is on the equipment. Not having an educated thumb = operator error. Focus on your thumb after you get your reel straightened out.
  3. I think you would be fine with any line. All tend to have there little set backs. But I think with mono you tend to get more backlashes which is the thing I hate most. Personally I would recommend fluoro. Mainly because if you fish your soft plastics weightless like I do mostly it will give them a nice steady fall (IMO). As for the set-up you may want to give a ball park price of what you looking to spend you will get a lot of other possible to consider. Which will probably make your choice way more difficult. SORRY. Goodluck.
  4. I think my dobyns champion 766 will work good. What presentation though flip n pitch or weightless texas rig? Hahaha. Thanks guys. Will update when delivered.
  5. Wife and I are having our first child! Dr said probably looking at the weekend. I can't wait. How long before I can begin casting practice?
  6. Don't know how the 2 reels you listed are. But I use a revo stx for heavy cover flippin and pitching, and frogs. And I love it. I noticed you have 2 revo's if you like them I would suggest considering that as well
  7. I love the action of them but they haven't been very productive for me. I've used them as trailers, flippin, and weightless. I love the rage tail craws though. I can't miss when I use them.

Love the R.C. 1.5 great shallow runners. Bombers are nice to.
  9. Baby bass. Great all around color!
  10. Q-tip and warm water. I'd stay away from any alcohol product may be to harsh for the guides.
  11. I have dobyns and st.Croix rods there both very nice. And you can't go wrong with either. As for there customer service I have no experience with it but I always hear good things from people who have.
  12. I set mine depending on cover and line. I have some with 50lb braid so I tighten them down pretty much as far as I can without damage to reel. These are also fished In heavy cover so I don't like to play around with the fish just hook em and drag em out. The lighter line I set pretty loose but this is also when I'm in open water. Also I primarily use baitcasters and I find them pretty easy to back off or lock down when I have a fish on. Find what's comfortable for you but it doesn't hurt to try different methods.
  13. I believe it my brother when he was younger (like 9) passed out because of the same reason he knew he was getting multiple shots and when they gave him his 3rd lights out. Its anxiety. Some people get so worked up they blackout.
  14. Nice looking dog good luck with'em. Its nice to rescue a dog but as long as you provide a dog a good home it doesn't matter were they come from.
  15. Wow. Wish I had the time to visit there looks awesome.
  16. A lot of people do use them for crankin. Because of the low gear ratio it makes it easier to slow reel a crank or swimbait.
  17. Round reel will hold more line it also has a lower gear ratio and there usually very duarable. On the down side they can be pretty big and the low profile are nice and small and easy to palm.
  18. Razor blade works pretty well. There are a bunch of tools out there you can use. Can't remember who makes it but they have one that heats up and cuts through the barid and prevents the ends from fraying. I've never used it but it looked interesting. (I believe it was a berkley product)
  19. I had an issue with a plastic it actually bubbled and started to break down. The only thing I could figure happened is the last time I fished them it was raining and water got in the package I drained most of it but not all. So I guess they broke down because of the water. Which seems weird to me.
  20. I have both and I think tru tungsten has red also. I personally don't think it matters. But it looks better when the colors match closely. Kind of like a jig trailer you try to use a trailer close in color to the jig.
  21. I used it when it first came out with no major line problems. I did however experience a couple knots fail. So I read a lot of reviews on it and switched before giving it any more time.
  22. I have a 766 champion and I love it very well balanced. I use it for heavy flippin, jigs, and top water frogs, I've even thrown some deep cranks on it. Good choice if you decide to get it.
  23. Before you spool on whatever braid you use you need to put a layer of line (backing) on the spool then tie braid to it and spool the braid. Some people use tape its whatever your prefer.
  24. Also make sure you back your baitcaster before you spool the braid.
  25. Depends on situation. Anywhere from 0-10 max. In my opinion. I would say just use 5ft. Its a happy medium and it gives you room to make a few reties without comprimising leader length. Just make sure you practice your leader cnnection knot before you get on the water that's probably the most important thing.
