Multi-rod dryer
Thank you. Truth be told, I didn't cut the discs. I'm not that good. I did cut all of the notches in them though!

Multi-rod dryer
I'm teaching a rodbuilding class shortly. With a large class comes the necessity to dry multiple rods at once. Having only 2 motors and a power wrapper, I was tasked with building a dryer capable of turning 12 rods. Actually, having 36 signed up, I need to turn 3x that many! A small drum-dryer is what I needed.........actually 3! It also needed to be portable. With the help of a friend with a 3d printer to make some parts not on the market.....yet, i finished the first one this morning. I still need to apply felt to the cut-outs on the discs.

Why Are Boat Motors So Expensive?
I didn't read through all of the replies, so if this was mentioned, I apologise. You're also buying a transmission. Gearing isn't cheap. Also, unlike a car motor, marine motors are designed to turn high rpms for extended periods of time. I have never run my truck at 5k+ rpms for a half hour at a clip.

Spinning rod reel seat
I prefer Tennessee with rings. Second is an Areo, but I like it installed uplocking.

question for the St Croix experts
What Dwight said. They seem to get slower. Hard to tell of you only jump 1 series, but go from a SCV to SCIII, it's more noticable.

Legend elite blank year or period?
That looks like a custom build, so no SN will be present. Rootbeer Pearl came after the matte green. Matte green was discontinued in the early 2000s.

Grooves in ss guides with ss inserts
Quite common, despite claims otherwise. As DVT said, those guides should never be used as a tiptop. I have changed many many for others over the years and even a stripper guide and some runners

8’6 MLXF Legend Tournament - Drop Shot
I don't know how I missed that one in the blank catalog. Think I'll hold off and see if they offer it in a SCV next year. I'm not a big fan of the Cobalt blue, but the blue/green flip or forrest pearl would be acceptable to me. If they don't make it, then I'll order the SCIV. I have a 1pc 76mlxf SCIII that I'll be selling as soon as I build the 2pc SCV. The 2pc has a touch more power and it travels better when I'm not in the boat.

8’6 MLXF Legend Tournament - Drop Shot
Son of a....... I didn't even know I needed another dropshot rod!

Any blanks similar to the Loomis MagLight/XF rods?
NFCs DS6107-1 IM is spec'd as a Mag-lite XF. I have a SCIII and SCV 76MLXF and it is way more powerful than the NFC Mag-lite.

Looking at a second boat
That sounds like a fair price to me. If the motor checks out and you showed up with $3200-$3500, I think you could take it. Other than being a touch overpowered, which may or may not cause issues with the law, I think it would do what you want.

Re-powering the Lund 1875 Pro-V Bass Boat
Grrrr. Now you went and fired up the new boat bug again! I just can't do it now. Well, I could but the wife would string me up by my, umm, you know. We're working on acquiring a new house and shop! Then the Tahoe has to be replaced with a truck. Maybe in 3 years I'll be posting a video like this!

Breaking Rods, How many per year do you?
2 since 2005 and none in the last 10 years. No clue how they broke either. They were in the tubes in the rod locker in socks. Pulled them out of the sock and they were broke. Both St. Croix LE 68MXFs, one spinning and one casting.

Do you ever get used to split grips?
I can take them or leave them. I actually prefer full cork grips because it gives me more of a canvas to do cool inlay work. That being said, my favorite dropshot rods are split grip for the sole purpose of putting the weight keeper in the split behind the reel.

Can I Realistically Use My Bass Rod For Trout/Panfish Situations?
Will it work? yes. Ideal? No. That MH will suffer in the casting distance department with light lures. Hooksets will need adjusted or you will rip the hooks out of the fish, especially the crappie. I will use my ML bass rods on occasion, but I have a couple light power rids dedicated to panfish/trout.

Ranger Boat's Icon
A friend of mine bought a 522D last year. I'm not at all impressed with the glass work. The way it looks, I wouldn't have accepted it on a $2k truck cap let alone an $80k+ boat. It's pretty, but when you look closely, there are ripples in the finish.

Ranger Boat's Icon
Absolutely nothing makes this boat worth $100k or most other boats worth what they're asking!

What’s your favorite rod and spinning reel?
The spinning combo in my hand the majority of the time is a custom Croix 5S610MLXF extended to 7' with a Shimano TwinPower 2500HGS.

Reel sizes matching with rod sizes
I had a 13' Croix Wild River float rod I had to put 4oz on to make it manageable. I fished it once and sold it. Had a Talon ITM built for me after that. This was before I started building my own.

Help with Rod butt
Tractor supply in the pet care section. Many varieties of syringe needles. You should be able to find one that will fit the need to vent air.
