  1. Another stretch I used to fish is from the wall near the new toll 43 bridge to Cox market. Lots of sauger and smallies, and some pretty big carp too.
  2. something is going wokny with my phone. this posted twice.
  3. I haven't fished pigeon in 20 years. Used to fish off the wall at Peno's and slay the white bass.
  4. High and muddy, just like the Mon. I haven't been on the water yet this year and embarrassingly, haven't fished since Labor Day weekend. Heading to Erie on the 26th to chase some smallies. BTW, I found what I want to build for my SHTF rod. Rodgeeks 6'6" M/F 4pc travel. It will be the first Rodgeeks I've ever ordered with no color! Gotta keep it subtle as to not attract the zombies!
  5. Never given much thought to it. Now that you mention it, I'll probably throw together some sort of low modulus 6.5'-7' 4pc travel spinning rod in ML or Medium power. Probably Medium though.
  6. I will donate my time, cork, epoxy and thread for another build.
  7. My summertime beers with flavor, in no particular order, are: Lagunitas DayTime Victory Cage Radler Southern Tier Lemon Drop Sun
  8. I think this topic should be pinned so it doesn't drop off the page.

  10. I'm probably 98% spinning, 2% casting.
  11. My local canoe rental business has a couple similar to this. Mokai is the brand. They use them as chase boats.
  12. Did the 2 pulls with beads make it there intact?
  13. St. Croix's medium power is more powerful than most other manufacturers. This is the case for most rods in their freshwater series. That is probably what you're experiencing with that 63MXF. I have many of their MLXF rods. They are my favorites and my go-to dropshot rods.
  14. I got tired of pulling the plug on my FC motors when I wanted to stop the rod, so i installed inline switches.
  15. Are you looking at the FSB-2? That kit looks like it has just about all you'll need. When I got into building, kits like that didn't exist.
  16. I like hand wrappers for wrapping guides. I have a Flexcoat HW1 and a Flexcoat Speedwrapper. I don't like the rollers on the Speedwrapper so I use V-blocks instead. I only use my Alps powerwrapper for applying finish at high speed. For years, I applied finish with a 18rpm Flexcoat drier.
  17. That is my favorite blank of all time. Well, the 6'9" model was til they made it 6'10". I gave my wife my 6'9" and build one of the 6'10" extended to 7' and I have another 610 to build for myself. My favorite technique is dropshot, so I always have a few on deck.
  18. I've had a ProMariner ProTournament 3 bank in my Lund for 12 years. Never any problems. Now that I say that, it'll fry this week! lol
  19. Ceramic insert guides are sized by the ID of the metal frame, or OD of the insert.
  20. Im a Fuji *****, but there's nothing wrong with them.
  21. Don't know about that. But I worked on a Villain that was.
  22. I got a Duracell group 31 AGM from Sam's last spring for my starting/accessories and it has been great. Picked up 2 more today for the trolling motor.
  23. Shoot me your address in a PM and I'll put a some in the mail for you. You'll never use a full spool of it in 2 lifetimes!
  24. I used to use Fireline for pull loops. It worked pretty good and I was able to get about 2 rods before it would get fuzzy and needed replaced. I have now switched to Nanofil. I still only get 2 rods or so, but it's so much smoother and easier to pull than the braid.
