  1. Congratulations!! I pray that you two will be blessed with a long, happy marriage!
  2. There are more than one shot... the H1N1 shot isn't out publicly yet but the regular flu shots are. I had the flu once... worst 7 days of my life. So yes, I already got the regular shot last week. And I'll get the H1N1 shot when it's here next month. (since we have a baby in the house, it's a no-brainer)
  3. ...with a flat or missing tire. I checked my truck jack long ago to a flat but when I blew a tire and lost it, the jack was too tall to fit under with the trailer on a bare rim. :-/ With a little luck and some quick thinking we made a spacer and used the truck to pull the trailer's bare rim up and onto it, creating those last few needed inches of height. ...lol
  4. I actually had your kits page linked first but saw you were sold out of them so I changed it to the article page. ...lol
  5. You can buy "pro" grade chemicals in most (or all) states. Buy something that leaves a residual- your raid evaporates and doesn't continue to kill very long. Wettable powders seem to last the longest. http://store.doyourownpestcontrol.com/category.aspx?iid=216 I use the Demon (I buy it at the feed store) the link above this says the cyper is the same chemical but cheaper.
  6. Took the words right out of my mouth. (so to speak) Sounds like nice reels aren't for him, but as long as you like them, that's all that matters.
  7. I think this is mainly an awareness problem. Do you guys have any idea how little weight the missing cork weighs? (not enough to shift balance much at all) Once sanded down to grip diameter and then reamed to the blank diameter... we are talking about a few grams. If you put the rod on a fulcrum and the tip on a scale that was accurate in grams, you'd see that there will be little (to no) difference in the mojo vs many other rods of the same price points. (if you weight same length, power and actions against each other) So many people pick up a high dollar split grip and then buy a cheaper one since it "looks" the same.... sometimes you just get what you pay for. The mojo's are decent rods but they are not high dollar. Now, mind you I haven't weighed them comparatively, but I do know those particular blanks and I do know what the cork and components weigh. As for lengthening the grips to shift balance, it would work but IME, people shy away from longer then normal grips. You might try Reel Mech's balancing article and balance them to your liking. It's about a $2.00 DIY project. http://www.rod-crafting.com/resource/articles/balancing.html
  8. I spend a little time on the dark side, but that's a $160 solution to a $25 problem. If a new reel is what you want, why not just send your C3 to ReelMech and have a set of 3.8:1 or 4.7:1 gears installed? It will also get tuned up while it's there.
  9. Why would anyone be ok with adding 2+ oz of reel to balance out a combo but not like the idea of adding weight (when less is required in the rod since it's further back) to the butt of the rod, when less weight (added to the rod) will give you a more balanced feel? Makes no sense to me.
  10. That's a horse! Way to go!
  11. no boating advice.. I just clicked on this one because a guy named "squirts" is positing about two people on the jon... I figured it was going to be worthy!! Boy, I was disappointed!
  12. Another carlisle user here. My original tires were marathons... got a whopping 3 years from them. I agree. But, my last set of carlisles lasted almost 9 years. I replaced them with another set. They wear like iron, but ride nice.
  13. Stories like this mean even more to me now that i have a child... what a sick and twisted world this has become. I have no doubt that I'll be an "over protective" parent, even though I never wanted to be. I used to consider it an inconvenience when wal-mart did the lockdowns for lost kids but now I cringe every time they do it. Thankfully most are just momentarily lost.
  14. ....... Just remember that for every thread on these boards, there is a percentage of the membership that could care less about that particular thread or topic... I'm not sure that voicing a lack of interest in every thread would be a wise use of bandwidth and memory. :-?
  15. some of them are not using what you can buy off the rack... I wasn't supposing in my previous post. No clue how widespread it is or is not. And remember, looks can be deceiving... Even I can match a factory rod with no trouble.
  16. Looks sweet!
  17. If you had roller bunks or those slicktabs on the bunks, you sure would dump it on the ramp. ...lol
  18. Same here but I am the boater. Everything except turning the key should be done before you hit the ramp.
  19. It doesn't. But there have been spirited debates on the topic and so it has become in inside joke to many of us. I didn't mean anything towards you, Koopa, just threw it out for a few laughs from those of us that have been through the debates.
  20. As soon as I saw it, I wondered who would take the first shot! Well played, Wayne. ;D Sorry Gator!
  21. You know, I bet it did... almost all the donut shops I see have one. And we have lots of drive through beer stores so it would make sense. ;D
  22. Hmm... are you bored? What's the point of looking up post counts, were you looking to see if someone was credible? : ;D Sorry, I had to.
  23. Go back to what you loved before. I've burned out a couple times but only when making it work... I gave up tourney fishing in the 90's and re-found my love for bass fishing. It had become work and therefore lost some of its luster. Now I only fish an occasional event, and then it's only team events... which keeps it more fun for me. The other times, all I needed was a change of pace... either fly, striper fishing or saltwater. I just needed a change of pace, or to catch some fish without overthinking.

  25. Going under a rating is not a problem... but if you use line and lures that fall very much under, casting may suffer a little. That's about the only real effect you might see. Of course if you went way far under, you might break line on a hookset but you are fine being #2 under.
