  1. Here you go... http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1251769793
  2. I use a Revo winch for small to mid sized swimbaits. (up to 4-5 oz) Works great, is comfortable to palm and doesn't weigh a ton. If you already own one, it's a no-brainer.

What scenery! I would have called in sick to work and stayed longer!
  4. Seems like I remember a few megabass/evergreen posts last year but few this year... Lightningrod (sp?) comes to mid as one of the guys who posted about them. Are you just interested in buying them because they are JDM or is there some definitive reason? Other than aesthetics you can find just about the same features in domestic stock. (I'm just curious)
  5. It's the Indian, not the arrow. : Losing fish at the boat happens... but not at the fault of the reel, unless it imploded and you lost control of the line. ;D
  6. Just curious- when you use family money to buy do you add it back to the budget when you sell? So the "family" budget sees that profit? And if you decide to keep it, do you pay back the family budget? This is part of the reason our budget has "fun money" which is just grown up allowance. ;D No house funds are used for fishing/hunting gear.
  7. No, but if you send the reel to ReelMech, you'll get it tuned up better than new and get the part replaced for less than $30.
  8. Surely you are kidding... or just don't spend much time here. Yes there more JDM talk at TT but there are a number of threads (reels more than rods) here every week. I don't recall you starting many though... maybe you should start asking or talking about those that interest you. :
  9. Welcome to BassResource.com!!
  10. Well, what was the smell?
  11. I drooled... and found my next holster purchase. ...lol Thanks a lot, Micro... Mr. Delfatti is just about to earn an extra $185.
  12. You guys should give him a list of acceptable companies to contact... he is obviously a better salesman than anyone else in the club. I bet you aren't upset when you deposit the checks or open up the free gear. If you are serious about sponsorship than maybe you guys need a little less "club" in your club. no, I didn't read all the responses, just shooting from the hip.
  13. Ahh... I remember not that long ago when you guys didn't have to protect BR with disclosures constantly... :-/ So sad... Some idiot even got pizzed at the soldier rod "program". What a loser, thanks for not telling me who that was because I do know for a fact that I would have gotten banned from the site for the message I would have sent him. It's nice to see that the spirit of giving is alive and well, even if a few tools try to spoil the joy. Rant over.
  14. Can't you just hear it (in japanese of course) but translated to say... " dude check out this Daiwa Excellor and Shimano Castillo I picked up!! They are a USDM and I got them both for 192 Yen!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
  15. That's the one thing I love about the older round Abu's. On the cast, the line guide oscillated back and forth with the line. I guess that robs the reel of a little distance but line lay was always perfect and the cast smooth. I guess the new 4600/5500/6500's also have this, though.
  16. not in fatigue, heck my watch weighs about 5 oz. I meant sensitivity... I can feel a great difference in a lighter reel on the rod, even better when balanced out... I can't believe it's just my hands. ?
  17. precisely the reason I carry. It's everywhere, not just in bad parts of town.
  18. I like it! I wouldn't have thought to drop that little yellow accent in it. Looks cool. Nice job. I went with Cobalt (no CP) and just a few single turn inlays of metallic silver. But it goes nicely with the 50MG that on it.
  19. It's not that we (those that like light weight stuff) are wimpy, it just feels so much better when properly paired. You guys should handle a well balanced, lightweight outfit and then make up your mind. I have a 784 with a 50MG on it the is not only superlight, it balances completely neutral in the hand... you practically can feel the sediment in the water on a slack line. Everyone that's held it so smiles big & says "wow", and it fishes better than it feels. With a 7+ oz reel on that rod, it's still awesome, but it loses some of the "wow factor." Don't get me started on line capacity. :-X
  20. Might just be a worn pawl... that's all I've had to replace in the past, never the worm gear, itself. (about a $2 part) But those were Abu's, not Daiwa's. EIther way, send it to ReelMech for a good clean, lube & tune up, he'll fix it while it's there and it will be better than new for about $20. + shipping.
  21. Would you use this in place of Stabil, even if you were not constantly using E/10 blended fuels? I only occasionally have to get E/10 so it's not been a problem yet. And I use Stabil at almost every fill up. Don't store it in certain areas! From the MSDS:
  22. Could be a number of things... load balance, new motor, weak older motor, transom height, fuel in the tanks old or bad, etc. Different shaft lengths are offered because some boats have to mount them differently and at different heights. Sailboats come to mind as often needing long shafts, due to where and how they are mounted. Most small aluminum & Jon boats would take a short shaft.
  23. The LMB fishing has always been decent. But Sandlin was the best White bass lake I've ever seen, for both size and numbers. Mid october has them schooling all over the lake... and they are big, I mistook them for Hybrids the first few time I fished there. I haven't been up that way in 2 years now though.
  24. It's opposite of that, I was kidding about the lack of line capacity on the core50... I use #14-#20 XT which as you know is quite large in Dia. I can almost cast them dry with a fresh fill up, which is no good. But more importantly, since we are fishing flooded mesquite fields, we have to cut and retie constantly. And in the case of the Core 100, and Ch50MG I have to respool at lunch time- which is a bit ridiculous. I had to replace the spools on the Core 100 and CH50Mg, just to get enough line to make it through a day on the water. :-/
  25. To confirm what RW said... a H Loomis is like a MH St. Croix... example: the MBR844 would be comparable to a **70MHF in whichever series you want to compare. (I haven't owned any St. Croix spinning blanks so I can only confirm this in casting rods)
