i dont know why so many of you like the shimono curoldo i dont like shimono i think there crap my favorite reel would have to be one i dont own yet but borow from my dad all the time the diawa Team Daiwa Z Baitcasting Reel it may be expensive but i think it blows the curoldo out of the water

it was most likely your drag you need to set the drag to 1/3 of your line strength you can do this by tying your line to a scale and pulling till it shows 1/3 of your line strength then loseing the drag till it comes of then
