NFL Thursday Night Football is back!!!!!!!
49ers and Bears tonight!!!! I have no dog in the hunt, neither team is threat for wildcard spot at this time. A good game would be real nice. Mike Singletary will be coaching against his old team for the first time since playing on the opposite sideline. Good luck Mike. Mike was always a class act on and off the field, can't ask for any better at his position. The only positive from tonights game on the NFL network is no Bryant Gumbel calling the game. 49ers are at home should have advantage.

5 nights on Purtis Creek
Pictures to follow when Chris gets time to upload them from the camera for me. First off, no bandaids needed, no blood, and who needs cartoons. Matthew wore out the 1.65 mile hiking trail with energy to burn, we did every trail everyday. Broke the bike out Sunday afternoon when everyone went home. That just wore me out more. Matthew didn't get his first bass, but he wore the redeared brim out and he caught some monsters. We saw some monster bass feeding under the lights and couldn't get them to hit anything, bait was plentiful. The second night, we had coons raid the camp, I thought I had everything secure, but unfortunately, a coon was able to pick the hasp on the ice chest and the steaks was taken faster than I could get up and shine the flash light on them. lol The biggest thief was the 3 year old. Making burgers, got out all the fixings. Was getting ready to cut whole tomatoe and I guess I forgot to get one out. Got another out and started cutting, noticed Matthew was eating the other one. He love his tomatoes. I once asked a waitress to bring me my tomatoes, and she said they were on my plate, long story short, the grandson was tomatoe thief early on. Its been noted that he don't ask, he just grabs a slice and enhales it. Can't complain about a kid who eats all veggies and fruit. He loves the fire ring, marshmellows, smores, and winnies on a coat hangar. Was watching Max and Ruby on CN today, cartoon, and they were going camping. Matthew related well to that show today. As they were talking needs, Matthew was saying we had that, and sleeping bags, and PaPa thought that was cute. Matthew got to see lots of deer, a buck fight, a bobcat, ate some fish, saw his first eagle, landed a red eared turtle, racoons, squirrels and the Texas Highway department buzzards working hard to keep the shorelines clean. Matthew lipping his first fish, priceless, beats anything I have ever done. Purtis Creek is shoreline friendly for little ones, flat clear banks, nature trails that are cleared and not rough to navigate. They have nice lighted fishing piers, playground, lots of showers and bathrooms. Great place to take a youngster to introduce to the outdoors. ;D

Bass and Seawalls
+1 and..... Seawall, retaining walls, quay walls or any other types of walls offer growth, and wind and waves knocks the growth off for baitfish to feed upon. Also, in some of my area lakes, there isn't any vegitation, and in summer, the wind and waves crashing those walls and rocks which makes needed oxygen, something that is key during certain times of the year.

Who will be the next coach and GM in Green Bay? Seriously
What did Holmgren do to rile the fans of GB? Was unaware he left on bad terms.

The CMA
Taylor Swift is a cash cow, Entertainer of the year. Not my idea of country, but then again, Brooks and Dunn weren't everyones favorites either. Times get tough, I know what songs still mention, mama, trains, robbery, and those catchy catch phrases of country. LeAnn Rimes looked dead last night on a side note. She's had better days.

Funniest pranks i've seen in a long while!
My buddy had a battery display. Looked like the real thing. He was taking it out of the trunk one day, had the face like he lifted a real battery, then tossed it to me unexpectedly. I reacted to catch it and expected to catch 30 lbs and it was light weight as a feather, almost threw my back out I was so tensed in catching it.

Who's this guy?
Have missed your input around here on this and that. Don't stay gone so long to say hi next time. hookem

How bout them Cowboys!!!!!!
Romo is 32-12 or 33-12 has a starter, and thats without a top 10 defense behind him. 18th in points scored last year is mediocre, thus the 9-7 record, mediocre. Romo has never had a consistent 100 yard rusher, and a rookie Offensive coordinator that is pass happy. Maybe Garrett is getting it as well. Dallas fans cry, "wait till Dec with Romo". Truth be told, thats been accurate with the past 12-13 seasons, so its not just "a Romo thing", too funny listenting to others try to make that a "Romo thing" out of this. What or who has won playoff games on this team? Wade and Garrett and none of the Dallas Players have won anything period. Dallas has a young defense learning to play with 6 new starters, and looking better each week. Dallas starting slow is good thing to start the season, maybe they'll be peaking in Dec this year instead of winning early and losing late. 6-2 and having the divison lead after the Gmen stormed out to a 5-0 start is a good spot to be in.

Who will be the next coach and GM in Green Bay? Seriously
This team was 13-3 two seasons ago with Brett. Brett is gone, so keeping Brett is no longer an option. In all fairness, this is Rodgers second full season and the Packers have scored in droves off and on. I haven't looked at the whole season, 2 of those losses was to divison winner from last year, Minnesota, and Minnesota won the divison with 2 QB's playing different stretches, now they have Favre pulling the trigger, and he's healthy thus far. Seems to me, allowing Rodgers to mature on the field and getting some defensive help would be the quickiest cure in GB. I don't think coaching is the whole story. Is Holmgren coming back an option?

Jack, Tyler new station did interviews with Fork guide Brooks Rogers and others on the incident. Check TFF for updates. This isn't gonna die quick or any time soon.

5 nights on Purtis Creek
Taking off late afternoon to Purtis Creek for 5 nights of tent camping under the stars with the 3 year old grandson. My campsite is always open to fellow BassResource, plenty of eats as always from the grill and smoker, coffee is always hot. Just ask for the tent site at headquarters and stop bye. I used to get pumped for big trips, now I get really pumped that my grandson is getting older and has already begun his fishing journey. Don't get much better or prettier than Purtis for fishing friendly to a little one. I'll post some pictures upon return. Hookem ;D

How Bout Them Saints?!?
Oakland beating Philly a few weeks ago was a reminder that anything can happen in the NFL. Just like many, my teams gets NO as well and it will be painfull most likely.

Cheater (Robby Rose) caught, cuffed and stuffed.
another site has that update from Gary Collins. He met with Rockwall county DA on Friday. Was asking DA what further evidence they need to collect. GW has still been gathering statements. Its not gonna slip through the cracks. Its evident. He may not get much, but the living with the known "cheater" label the rest of your life will keep on haunting him.

How to save a body of water, any knowlegde
Same deal on Town Lake in Austin which is just more of the Colorado river, no motors, except for the row team coach, his boat seems to be under gas power, never figured that one out.

MNF
The Vikings might be the only hurdle for them to clear in the NFC championship game. Philly is building and clearly better than my Boys at this time. Can't wait to see the Pats and Saints on MNF coming soon. Nice win for ya Catt!

Lure Pass #1 About to kick off!
Haven't been part of this at all. I seem to champion the underdog most of the time, or I try to give a person the benefit of the doubt. I know he's read along with all the comments from those in the lure pass and those that had nothing to do with it as well. Takes a bigger person to come back and face the music. Thats a good start in my book.

Cheater (Robby Rose) caught, cuffed and stuffed.
To me, BLT press release gave a very brief statement to allow the authorities to investigate. The right authorities I'd like to add. Police have enough street crime that a little ole fishing tournament might get some attention for day or two, but Texas Game Wardens, they'll turn ever possible stone over they can to get all the evidence they can before charges are filed.

Cheater (Robby Rose) caught, cuffed and stuffed.
Why was his website shutdown after the initial appology? I think he read what was being said on a public forum, "isn't that an admission to guilt?" and "with that alone, can't he be taken to civil court to maybe seek some money he cheated to win?" OJ won a criminal trial, but lost the civil case. For a 150 dollars, you to can become Ochocinco and move on to another state unless someone recognizes him. Need national website with pictures of CONVICTED CHEATERS for Tournament Directors to monitor. I also don't remember if you can leave comments at his site. I have heard he's not taking calls either from friends.

Cheater (Robby Rose) caught, cuffed and stuffed.
I have read it on another site today, posted it on our BassCat owners board, read that is was on Georgia, Az, Cali, and few other forums. His appology was copied from his website. What he admitted to was bad judgement and not cheating. He could simplely say he caught a fish with mono in its throat, should have suspected something and or even mentioned it prior to weighing. I have heard a few confusing stories on the removal of the weight. One it had mono attatched and so on. I take those as specualtion, cause the BLT write up didn't go into details.

Suspended bass
need depths, we can offer techniques to attack suspended bass, but in Cali, suspended can be 40 feet or deeper on some Socal bodies. Never seen the Hornet, indeed, thanks RW, just a version of the Lil George and others. Those and spoons are great suspended bass getters.

and thats when the fight started.....
I tried to talk my wife into buying a case of Miller Light for $14.95. Instead, she bought a jar of cold cream for $7.95. I told her the beer would make her look better at night than the cold cream. And that's when the fight started.....
