Monday Night Football
Only 4 players left from Super Bowl teams, those all offense. They have young, unproven defense. We see if either of these games are blowouts. 8-)

Going to lake Fayettville in Texas friday and need HELP PLEASE
I never fished the white tails at night. Or did, but they didn't work. Great day time bait. Big dark worms over at the intake/discharge area of the plant, baffle dike is the long penisula that seperates them. At the end of baffle dike, its 40 + ft deep casting away, its gets deeper. Lots of hang ups, break offs are gonna happen 50/50. I started with braid and jigs. Expensive then, finally power worms black/blue/red/ and dark big worms fished at night in that deep water brought some 8+ 's on most trips. Too bad, I didn't know about dropshotting, I think this technique, vertical with graph would boat some big toads right there and be cheaper on tackle. Hookem

Cedar Creek Resivoir - Fayetteville Texas
I worked CC the past couple of years. Not as much this year. If you noticed, hardly any vegitation away from the shoreline. There is tons of brush piles that hold good fish in the summer. Currently, wind is one of the best indicators on CC in locating active bass once past the morning bite. Has both types of shad, threadfin and Gizzard shad. Most of the threadfin will be on the retaining walls early morning eating the growth off the walls. Lake hasn't turned over yet for the year. Thats something to watch for, it will change fishing for a week or so when it happens. Early mornings, unless visible clues present them selves, I'd concentrate on top water early along the walls with some spot remover finesse jigs or anything scaled down. Anything, minus -1, traps, spinnerbaits, topwaters, frogs along the walls is best producer early morning. I have the big worm mentality if possible, this is one lake I found 10 inch worms seem to work late summer around the bridges, other than that, downsized worm seem to be the ticket. Anything green with dipped tail is majority opinion. I have some favorites. Last year, I found BR member in FortWorth who wanted to team up. We decided on the Hwy 31 Div. Averages over 50 teams per 6 events. By the way, we have had 8 guys who fished this same tour, Media Bass who have fished the BASS Elites. We had to learn CC against the Jackpotters, we ended up in the top 10 in points, and qualified for the Championship against 8 states. We took sixth at the 2 day championships, was 18th day one. Ask any questions, To me, this isn't your basic bass lake, it don't always conform to the norm as we see it. LIke.......................... I have always thought bass went deeper in the winter, but catching bass in 18 inches of water on 30 degree days and upper 40's water temps has happened more than enough to do it regularly in the winter.. Throwing anything bigger than 8 inches rarely gets a bite except late summer. Its my opinion, that late summer, the bass start moving up from the deep 20 ft brush piles due to poor oxygen. Lakes timber is old, no vegitation, thus nothing to replentish oxygen levels late summer when the lake is super heated and the normal no rain summers to help. Thats why I concentrate soley on the wind blown retaining walls built out of big rocks. The waves crashing the rocks do two things, it knocks food loose and agitates new oxygen into the water. IF you have any specifics, areas, just ask. I'm 30 miles from the lake. I have some great days on Fork the majority of the time. I started going to CC because she kicked my but a few times and she intrigued me. I like solving puzzles, specially when the results from others are known, so you know what she's capable of. I really put the time on her for the majority of a year, I fished cold days, wet day, any day I could to learn CC in 2007, for 2008. So, what area do you want to know about? hookem

Bubbling bait to attract bass? What do you think?
FIZ pellets been sold for along time. Works great with tubes for spawning bass on beds.

Going to lake Fayettville in Texas friday and need HELP PLEASE
I have found that purple body, with many different tail colors has worked on the Colorado and Concho since the 60's. Old Mister Twister was big back then. From Ivie to to Buchanan, Inks, LBJ, Travis on down. Specially on Ivie. Dad coached around the Ivie area before it was a lake, Miles Tx. Those colors just worked. So any LCRA lakes, I always give purple/firetails/white/yellow a try/ Most often, they produce.

LOL, I couldn't find puple/wh tail worms in Austin in the late 90's. I had to order out of Bass Pro catalog. Glad you had very nice day. Will remember Culprit makes them now.

Snead can flat out play, he showed that last year. He'll be drafted higher than Tim Tebow if he stays healthy. 8-)

Predict your NFL Teams record.
Make your predictions for your team this year. Dallas Cowboys 9-7 1 Sun, Sep 13 @ Tampa Bay 1:00 PM FOX 2 Sun, Sep 20 NY Giants 8:20 PM NBC 3 Mon, Sep 28 Carolina 8:30 PM ESPN 4 Sun, Oct 4 @ Denver 4:15 PM FOX 5 Sun, Oct 11 @ Kansas City 1:00 PM 6 BYE WEEK 7 Sun, Oct 25 Atlanta 4:15 PM FOX 8 Sun, Nov 1 Seattle 1:00 PM FOX 9 Sun, Nov 8 @ Philadelphia 8:20 PM NBC 10 Sun, Nov 15 @ Green Bay 4:15 PM FOX 11 Sun, Nov 22 Washington 1:00 PM FOX 12 Thu, Nov 26 Oakland 4:15 PM CBS 13 Sun, Dec 6 @ NY Giants 4:15 PM FOX 14 Sun, Dec 13 San Diego 4:15 PM CBS 15 Sat, Dec 19 @ New Orleans 8:20 PM NFL 16 Sun, Dec 27 @ Washington 8:20 PM NBC 17 Sun, Jan 3 Philadelphia 1:00 PM FOX I'm thinking Dallas splits div. 3-3, goes 2-2 in the nfc south, afc west, 3-1, and going 1-1 with GB and Seattle as the odd games. NFC south was tough conf last year. NFC east is a beast, we might be able to take two from the Skins to go 10-6, but 9-7 looks about right. 9-7 based on a defense that was 18th in points last year, and really didn 't do alot to get better on defense in the off season. Dallas goes as far as the Defense gets them. Go Cowboys!!!!!!

NFL: Miami vs Atlanta
I haven't looked at even half the schedules thus far. You are correct, the Dolphins have one of the toughiest schedules I have seen.

Miami/Florida State
Was great game to watch having no interest in either team other than pools. Was expecting more defense from FSU as per the experts and why they were ranked as high as they were.

Chargers Merriman arrested on assault charges
Past draft experts thought Dallas dropped the ball when Jerry and Bill passed on Shawn and took Demarcus Ware instead. Shawn was suspended for 4 games on the leagues substance abuse policy and had season ending surgery before game 2 last season.

NFL roster cuts - bonehead moves?
I noticed Zach Thomas was cut from KC, 7 time probowler. Joey Harrington, the #2 pick overall in 2002 was cut. John David Booty, USC QB cut from Vikes. Eagles cut Joe Klecko's son, Dan. Eagles left Feeley on the roster since they put Vick on the "exempt list". I think Feeley gets left off the roster once Vick comes back. Seymour was traded to Oakland for first round pick for the Pats next year this morning.

Tx rigged always worked then. Should be some schooling action kicked off at the dam. You should know, you'll see boats make bee-line for the dam at launch.

Any chillie heads, or spicy food lovers???
Thai is about as hot as it comes. Got some peppers in the yard that will give ya the blue flame out the tail pipe as we speak. If I can't taste what I'm eating, its too spicy, I didn't say too hot, I just don't see any point in going beyond not being able to tell what your eating with the peppers. I like to be able to enjoy the food first and foremost.

Fall Transition
I was gonna post that as I always have Catt, but I figured someone would want to know what tournaments I won to be correct on this info. ;D

Going to lake Fayettville in Texas friday and need HELP PLEASE
Those two docks at the ramp, just west, in that cove, used to be some timber abover water, big timber, it was deep there. Good spot mouth of the cove. Purple worms with white tails during the day. BPS was the only place I could consistently find white tails. We had 35 fish days on average for years up till 2000 with the white tail worm, left that area in 2000. Baffle point at night, dark power worms, jigs, heavy line, sharp objects down there. Very Deep off baffle . I put the BassTracker on the rocks at baffle point and fished outwards. That purple worm was not something I was told, its just something I found that worked in those types of lakes consistently. There are some very gradual points, just across from the ramp looking towards 3 fingers. Its a long, long, long gradual dropping point with loads of grass or used to be grass, with prevailing southern winds, we drifted that with tx rigged worms. Back in the day, we had to suffer through the 4-5 lb blues all day. Every fish in there was cookie cutters when she opened up. For ever 50, you'd get that 6+ lber. Its no joke, the majority of fish would have 2-3 hook marks, the shallow residing fish was always beat up from the bank beaters. Try the purple w/white ribbion tail 8" worm. GL Matt

Prohibitive favorites hurting participation?
We have so many anglers north of I 35 in TX that can fish with the best on any level who haven't even considered ever being pro. lol In the past few years, some of the Elite anglers have came from my trails that I had to fish against if I wanted to play. We have trails that are for the working guys, 40hrs a week, they have the guide rule in place, may have the rule that said if you fish 3 tournaments with entry fee of more than 320.00, you are ineligible to enter, plus adding the offlimits rule in there evens it out some. In our neck of the woods, theres more guys who could be fishing another level and don't for what ever reasons. I don't care what kinda of tournament it is in TX, I like knowing it takes fishing clean, an "A" game on any day in my neck of the woods to cash. Theres not one lake that we don't have 150 or more homies (locals) that live on the lake or just know it. What we see in partner tournaments is guys who had dads or family that grew up fishing all these local lakes that have 20-50 years experience on tournament lake between partners. Very tough, but I'd rather fish against the best on any given day, in the end result, its figuring what the fish are doing, not the other competitors. But yes, in some cases, it does tend to scare some guys off.

What you don't want to see when towing...
Would you guys say that the force of the boat moved the car over a few feet off center of the drive way? Yet the car don't look damaged from impact.

What you don't want to see when towing...
You didn't see the Skeeter at Fork on the TFF did ya few months ago? That boat was launched off the trailer, through the bed and into the back window of the cab, sheered the trolling motor off. And yes, that boat was strapped down all the way and it didn't prevent it from leaving the trailer. Rear transom straps u bolts on boat where ripped clean out. I'll try to get pictures of that.

Update on the Japanese world record bass 8/25
Not true, bluegill are big no no's in Japan, so using bluegill as bait was big issue as well. There is no release on bluegills as well, so this little issue isn't clear either. Heres what I got from Japan site that had to be translated. The scale that was used to certify the bass was tested on 7/11/09, it showed to be light, which by standards is okay. Better to wiegh lite than heavy. Scale paper work is ready to submit. A tackle store, Deps, has bought all rights to the catch and story that is to follow. All info is being put to DVD for purchase. Rep from Deps said they have 90 days to cross all the T's and dot the I's. Also on US websites is specualtion of the red spots on the bass. This doesn't come out of Japan but off the Delawarebass site, this guy said he studied films for two hours. He said he's sure the red spots came from gill nets. Wasn't the Delaware site the first to report this stateside? I thought I read that they were the first with the story. Just passing info I have read the past few days from searches.

Things I learned from Japanese interview
LOL,, thats the rumor rag I'm talking about. LOL Like I said, not one news agency from Japan talks about restricted waters or 3 posssible baits, only SanDiego online. The very article Glenn responded to. And what you've just told me, the info written came form Icast just reinforces that they are nothing but rumors.
