Hey Electricians...
Lots of factors to determine. Whats the reserve capacity of your battery, this means, how long can you operate your battery with out charging. Normally, thats 25 amps of power for about 80 minutes. Or, if you used 120 watts, thats 10 aph, which would give you about 3 hours. Most inverters have alarms to indicate its time to charge the battery before the battery is too drained to start the vehicle. 3 types of inverters are made. Squarewave, the cheapest, less efficient, not for electronics, power tools and motors Modified sine wave, middle of the road in price, will work for Tv, Computers, may have fuzz in volume, and line distortions, but will work, will not run laser printers. True sine wave, same as outlets in house, will run everything, higher priced. Standard Safety, always figures convertors at 90% effiency of actual rating. Better to err on the safe side. given current is amps, volt is voltage, and Power is measured in watts. How many DC watts will the Invertor draw from the battery to covert AC? using standard formulas, P=IV and I=P/V, simple math, If you have 2 of the 3 givens, you can figure Power mesured in watts, current measured in amps, voltage n volts, or resistence measured in Ohms, knowing the formulas. We know DC is 12 volts, and AC is 110 volts, We know the Watt or power, is 8 watts. First you have to figure how much the convertor is pulling from the battery. I know the AC is 110v and rating is 8 watts, so current, I is equal to W/V, so 8 watts divided by 110v = 0.072727 amps Now I know current, I can find P, P=VI, orP= VxI, 12Vdc times 0.0727=0.87 watts. simple, AC watts/12 v X 0.87 amps, so 8 watts divided by 12v =0.666 X o.87 amps =0.58 DC amps from your battery. You would be using about .6 of an aph, or amps per hour from your battery. just multiply .6 amps x hours of useage, and the rating of your battery. you should have no problem getting 6 hours easily out of your battery. A deep cycle battery would double that, it has larger reserve capacity, again, it depends on the reserve and wattage pulled. Hope that helps.

Potential Record-Tying bass "May" be invalid
The key word in the San Diego report is "rumor". I don't put too much into the rumor mill. Sounds fishy to me.

FLW Championship
Congrats to Greg Hackney for a major milestone in his career. How about those Elites going one and two on FLW's grandiest stage? I thought the FLW put on a good show. Would love to have better footage of live coverage on the water.

FLW Championship
I'm stoked for the final weigh-in. 3 BASS boys duking it out on the FLW. I hear the Hack is on the "attack". Got limit with 2 lb kicker. Ike got his 5 lb kicker, a catfish, you know that got his emotions flowing. Reported Ike's got 5 as well. Salewske is reported to have one. He's been consistent all 3 days with 5-6 lbs every day. Consistency wins. Nixon was true to his word, they said he threw big baits today. Not much on Dave L. today. I'm ready, anglers are off the water already, concert is going on, and then the weigh-in.

quick CHEAP senko repair
Why buy new ones when the repaired ones work just as good. you can use that 7.00 bucks you saved and buy your self other needed supplies. I lost mine last year, but electric light butanes will put those worms back to fine working order fast. After fusing them or repairing them, I throw them into the livewell brief moment, or any water, that gets rid of the tackiness, sticky feeling thatthey have immediately after repairing. Not an issue, they work, and thats all that counts.

quick CHEAP senko repair
A bic lighter is faster for healing the hook wounds. Plus you can use the lighter in the boat where as the soldering iron requires AC. I do use the iron on fusing worms together.

Culling Systems
Never heard of bags rubbing slime coats. And I would have never suspected that. Very good info and something new to consider when buying weighin bags. On a side note, most trails issue their own and insist on using theirs. You can use yours if you put theirs inside of yours. The reason its become manadorty on alot of our trails is: by issuing bags after check in, they can limit the amount of guys standing at the tanks waiting to be weighed. Keeps the lines shorter, just trying to ensure fish are stressed as little as possible.

San Diego River Bass Fishing
I fished the RCP pits there in Santee for about 10 yrs. Which is the San Diego river. The ones near Los Colinas womens prison. Back then, I could 4 wheel back to them. We would back up to an opening of the bullrushes and turn the lights out on the water at night. I have caught 7 crappie over 3lbs, 6 of them came from those deep pits. Minnows in 94 were about 6.00 bucks for a dozen crappie minnows. The alternate plan for some was to go buy feeder goldfish for a nickle a piece back then. We took crappie steady for years, very above average size. Those are some very deep holes, or was. They later pushed rocks, boulders to block access to vehicles. Float tubing was the best way to fish for bass, back then, it was 75% surrounded by bullrushes. Two guys could carry a lite boat and bank launch. , Everything worked at times. Topwaters parallel the bullrushes, jigs in the tulles, cranks, frogs. The lights really made night fishing for crappie great, 5ft under a cork, 10-20 ft off the bank. We'd get a solid mess most of the time. I left San Diego in late 94, Navy. I loved San Diego fishing. Caught tons of trout during the winter at Santee Lakes. Theres some big bass in those tiny lakes. My daughter caught many a trout there. Lots of memories. hookem

Tuning Crankbaits
The primary purpose of loop knots are for topwaters. The loop knot allows the bait to move more natural, its most commonly used on Spook type baits that you walk.

FLW IS BETTER THAN BASS!!!
- FLW Championship
If I'm mistaken, for give me. I believe FLW allowed them to go through more locks than the BASS boys did in 2005. I thought BASS put off limits after #3 lock, I think. It was said a few went a long ways and thats why there wasn't one update on Hackney and a few others. We'll get the stories after its over for sure.- Catch and Release?
Bob, I get your question. I have asked the same from the guys who like to make a big fuss about BASS and FLW rules on using a net. BASS don't allow them at this time, so guys try to bash the anglers or BASS for bouncing them off the side of the boat, the console or bouncing on the carpet. Same question, I always ask them about the ride the fish goes on when hooked, pulled through brush, sides skinned and punctured by stick ups at times, gut hooks, and etc....... before he gets to the boat. So, if they really cared, they wouldn't fish at all. I do care, I dont use nets unless they are toothy critters. Only sight fish for big girls, big girls to me are better than 9's on beds, or during a tournament, don't use c-rigs at all, chance of gut hooking a fish is greater. I do carry ice and Please Release Me, a needle, and I teach bleeding air bladder at area tournaments. I do love the green fish, and I do what I can to ensure they are gonna be there for my grandson one day. Bob, what about the guys who don't like to eat fish at all, but love to fish? We all fish for different reasons. I like to eat lots of fish. Crappie, cats, and stripers do the trick for me. I can only eat so much fish, so why keep them all? I don't begrudge any fishermen for their styles. I was raised this way, and still believe in those values today. Somethings I have taken to higher grounds on my own. Now, what does all this have to pertain to C and R and the thread?- Blue Bird Skies...or rain?
How deep of water do the docks set in.- Water temp variations on the lake
For you guys that don't think your graph displays the thermocline, my old ones didn't either or I didn't properly adjust it back then, but alls I did was drive under the bridges with deep water. Bridges always hold fish, and normally, the crappie will show up like stacked cord wood, they are always just above the thermocline with the bait. When we didn't own electronics, Dad would put the crappie jig to work around the pilings, catch a few and you would have your depth. Dad marked his line with marker, then would take the line and use the boat length as his guide to determine depth. Most of the time, I just ask the fishermen that are tied up.- your favorite big fish bait.
My best summertime big bass getter is 10-18 inch power worms and others. I also like throwing 3/4 to 1 1/2 oz spinnerbaits slow rolled or dragged on bottom. Making bigger worms is easily done in minutes. I use my old soldiering iron and weld or fuse them together. I save all my big plastics and cut them at the tail and join them to another, depends on how much you cut, as to how long they will be. Same with a Senko, take a bic, melt the hook tears and its good as new. Just heat a little and the plastic heals it self. Saves a ton of money on senkos, and they work just as good the second time around. don't use a zippo, gives it a smell.- FLW Championship
7th place Adam Wagner from Tn has zero thus far at 11am. Have seen some movement in the middle, will it be enough to make big jump? don't know. Bohannan in 6th has zero fish at 11 am Can't find anything on Curtis sitting in 2nd or Meyers, Hawkes, or Biffle. Maybe some movement if this continues to play out like it has for over half the day.- Blue Bird Skies...or rain?
Blue bird days normally have fish tight to cover or buried in it during the day time. Clouds may hold them on the edge of cover or roaming open waters feeding.- At work?
Nope, took a few days off from Poker to watch the blogs on the FLW tour championship. I'll play in 20 or so tournaments tonight though. Will be late night as usual, just with less sleep.- FLW Championship
Ike has 4 thus far. Nixon has been reported moving off his spot, too muddied, has 3 in the boat. Dave has 4.- FLW Championship
25 keepers. Thats alot for one individual in these conditions and for that fishery. Making the cut is the goal, and saving anyfish on day one could cost you in the long run. I think if he gets his five dinks, he makes the cut for sure. I don't see how guys can catch up when dinks are the main course and I have yet to see a toad make it to the stage.- FLW Championship
Twittering today is slow, most are having to twitter through ziploc bags, not as easy today, and reports are slower coming in because of this.- FLW Championship
Best I can tell thus far, it came down hard last night, is drizzling in some areas right now, more guys into the locks today than yesterday. Dave got solid keeper to start, Nixon had slow start, and Ike's got 3 small ones thus far. Nixon just got two small keepers.- FLW Championship
I think you misread the article. Dave and Larry are about 50 yards off each other, both had early limits and both stayed to protect those spots for today. The article said about 25 keepers came from the two spots, both think the current conditions will keep fish replenishing. Some other sites said he was trying a few different things to pass time, and kept getting better fish by ounces, so he was culling. He lost another 3 lber late, told the co angler, don't bother with the net, its a dink, turned out to be 3 lber. Wonder if that bites him in the butt in the end?- FLW Championship
Ike sits in 5th place going into day2. Go Ike.- New Video! Spinnerbaits
I love spinnerbaits, made me want to go throw one. So, when you getting JIGGY with us? Can't wait till the next installment comes. - FLW Championship
