Labron to Miami
Boston laid the blueprint for championships. Wade, Bosh, and Lebron are smart enough to know and have seen how the 3 amigos in Boston was plastered in tons of ESPN promos before even winning the title. As for the supporting cast, who was Rondo and Perkins? Seems to me, Boston's bench showed up, and I wonder how game 7 would have been with a healthy Perkins in the middle in the finals this year. Shaq would play for peanuts to get another ring. Who else is on the later end of their careers who would play for peanuts. Last time, Pat Riley had Zo come out of retirement to play alongside Shaq. Pat Riley will fill the holes. Staying healthy is the only question here that I see in the east.

OWich!
I think his buying a license after the boat docked kinda left a clue. How many boats compete in this competion, and how much to enter?

Sad Day For The Big XII
Sam, How do you figure Texas left them out? I guess you never heard thatUniv. of Cal. didn't want Baylor cause they are Baptist, ie a religious college. How come you only hear the Pac 10 talk about asking Utah and not BYU? Why all the reports about the Texas legislature getting involved to have Colorado replaced with Baylor and keep the South six colleges together? :

The jury was quick to deliver a death sentence as well. Again, how did that turn out?

OH Ivie Report?
There are some deep humps main lake towards the dam. Summer pattern should be full swing. I love big worms for summer months in Texas. Gene Larew Plum has always been very good in the afternoons, an old worm that don't get used there is the old Mister Twister purple fire tails, give those a try on wind blown points. Deep humps is were alot of the double digits come from. Dad coached at Miles TX, not far from the Colorado and Concho rivers that join at Ivie. First trip to Ivie after coming home to Texas was tough first half day until I went to the purple firetails, been back twice since, and Mr. Twister still works and so did the Plum color in a variety of brands. From Junction, I think heading to Menard, Eden on 83, about 50 miles, then in Eden heading down 87 south towards Brady you'll see the signs where to turn off to Ivie on 87. I hauled thousands of goats from the Junction sale barn were you turn for the Eden hwy US83. Good luck, there still some 13+ being reported lately.

Sad Day For The Big XII
Ya'll see the numbers on TV contracts and the Big Ten is #1 and SEC#2, yet, get this, The Big XII still out earned most conferences. AS per Forbes, the big revenue winners all have stadiums with 80-100,000 seating capacity. Texas grossed more than any college the past 3 years. and we have 4 other colleges with earnings of 80+ mil a year not counting NU. Even KU is earning 80+ mil., basketball is alive and well in the Big XII. Yep OU, OSU, Tech, are above 80+ mil. aTm isn't doing to bad either. The rest of that list is made up of Big Ten, SEC and I think it was USC Okie state had OU's number 2 out of 3 years prior to Les Miles leaving for LSU, they are just a good coach away from being a threat. Tuberville might be able to add some defense to Tech's explosive offense. aTm's talent has improved the past few seasons. KSU has Bill Synder back as head coach, and he made big impacts finding Juco talent that made KSU contenders during his era. We'll compete just fine. Every conference has its patsies. In the SEC, the earnings very greatly from one college to the next, so not all is split equal as one is lead to believe. Vandy has one winning season in 25 years. Ole Miss won nine games twice since Eli Manning left, but still didn't challenge for the East crown. Miss St beats Florida once every ten years, kinda like Tech beating OU once every ten years. Whats it been 13 years since State was a contender? Kentucky, not basketball, my mistake. Arkansas, once in a blue moon, they might be good this year. South Carolina, even with two hall of fame coaches, Spurrier and Holtz, SC won 9 games one time. Tenn won the NC after Manning left, and that was in 98 I think, could be wrong, but anyway, what have they done since then? Fired that coach. Can't be all good in Tenn. SEC pays its patsies well, they earn it every year. All conferences pay someone in their conference to be their patsies. SEC has had a great decade, no denying that. But...... then again, most of the experts pronounced the Big XII dead, and how did that work out ?

Sad Day For The Big XII
Just picture the Big XII logo with all XII team logos on it with two bandaids across Neb and Colorado. 9 dwarfs, I like it ;D

Sad Day For The Big XII
We as in the Big XII aren't done yet either. Maybe not this year, but in the near future, look to have Arizona and ASU in the Big XII. Big XII has the rights to the Fiesta Bowl in Arizona. We gain two major TV networks, Stoops brothers rivalary makes for an interesting topic, baseball, softball, basketball, womens and mens get deeper if they joined in the future. Losing Neb hurt in football and womens volleyball, and a mere 700,000 households in Neb, not much in viewers, CU in the Denver area was the 16th largest viewing area in the US, but with ASU and U of A, we come out better all around. Say what you will about teams moving, they have and do, just not everyday. Look at the big east and ACC, lots of shifting done in recent years. It hasn't been 20 years since the Big XII came about. To say that Arkansas and LSU wouldn't be a possibility isn't a stretch either if money truly does drive the bus. Lots of options on the table for the big XII. Live or die, Hookem Horns!

Bream patterned lures
This is the time of the year when the bream are getting into full swing of the spawn. Bream and bluegills change into some of the most colorful freshwater fish I have seen during the spawn, and with alot of hybrid varieties out there, colors can vary. Bass know this is the breams time to spawn, they know where the easy meals are, I love slow rolled spinners at night amoungst the bream beds for some better than average bass.

Tourney Fishing VS Catch and release
;D I still do that from time to time. I'll catch a cat while bassin and decide to keep it for supper, alot of times, I put them on a stringer to keep the slime out of the livewells and filters. Had them skiing before ;D
-
Tourney Fishing VS Catch and release
Made a few of those bonehead mistakes myself. I did learn from Jim Bitter, I have always put a worm bag on one side to protect from fish jumping when livewells have been opened when going to the weighin bag. I cover all sides if possible. Thats one practice I can think an old pro for.

Utility trailer tow problem
Same size hitch with same size receiver shouldn't be any slop unless your your pin isn't the same diameter as the hole? Alot of pins have a sleeve just incase you have small diameter pin to slide over it making it larger and removing the slop that makes it seem loose. The trailer would move whether its level or not if the pin is not the exact diameter. Just for grins, another possible, is the boat hitch and trailer hitch the same ball size? A 2 1/8" inch hitch will jump around on a 2 inch ball. Those are the only two things that make a trailer feel loose that I know of. EVen with hitches that aren't even, there should be no slop, slop allows for wear and tear on some component, thats not good in the long run.

Potential BIG XII Breakup
Texas isn't joining the Big 10. University has already said that. Big XII commish, Bebee is probably the reason this is happening. In short, the vote for +1 playoff system last year which would have doubled revenues was shot down. NU was not happy the way the Big XII voted. Big XII, Big East and ACC voted against. thats what started this ball rolling this time, $$$$$$$$ Notre Dame is the focal point of the Big Ten, if they can get Notre Dame to except, then they will not offer an invitation to anyone else. ND would be the infusion that the Big Ten would need to get more dollars for their TV contract. SEC has offer to Texas to jump. If I was the SEC, I'd hang Texas out to dry. When the SEC expanded years back, it was for Texas and Texas aTm to jump, Texas backed out, SEC got Arkansas and South Carolina instead, and that did nothing to improve the SEC TV revenue. This boils down to strengthing the conference for TV revenues. If Texas went to the SEC, Pac 10 would not take the other Texas colleges. Nobody wants to see Baylor and USC or Tech and Washington State.

How to solve the drug problem
There is noway I'll ever vote to legalize hard drugs, pot is the cash cow and the only drug on the ballot to be legalized in this discussion.

Long Mike & I Headed to Fork
Jack, Keep an eye open for Long Mike, he likes to leave his wallet laying alongside Texas highways, so help him get home with it this time. At least when it was found, it was returned to him with all contents, not all texans are bad seeds.

Shad Spawn questions????
Shad will spawn throughout the summer numerous times up until fall. Shad spawn prior to sunrise, once the sun is up, they are done and on the move the majority of the time. Bass are preditors by nature, the big girls know where the easiest meals are at all times of the year and at this time of the year in our region, its bream and bluegills. This time of the year, the bream are stacked shallow and easy targets while they spawn. Wasn't too long ago, bass beds were easy targets for bream.

Boomer Sooner!
LOL, Since the 2000 National Championship, "Big Game Bob" has not won many "BIG" games since his brother left to coach at Arizona.

When are you concidered a pro
I don't think money plays into bass fishing. Anyone can be sponsored and don't have to be a touring pro. What makes you a professional in other sports? when an amatuer no longer competes purely for the cometition of it and steps to the next level to compete for money. I'd have to say that becoming a pro is fishing against the same level of competion. I could be a professional guide, but that don't make me even close to a professional bass fishermen. Your not a Pro at the college level. Amatuer events in our area don't ask if you fished against so and so, its based on the cost of entry fee to determine if your PRO or not. Example: If you have fished more than 3 events with an entry fee of more than 2500.oo, you are considered a pro and can't fish our amatuer trails. Just how many bass trails do you know of with entries over a couple thousand dollars?

Tournament Idea...What do you guys think
Fishing as a sport is very hard to get spectators to watch it live. Giving the public a 24 hr notice just made it even harder to bring our sport to the public. 5 rods??????? I wouldn't want a mechanic trying to fix my car with just "5" tools to get the job done. And if theres info, 24 hrs isn't gonna stop them from "buying it or asking" for it either if thats what they need to do. Why no marshalls, surely you don't think some are helping them cheat, or why would you say no marshals?
