  1. Crime Times column in the Star Telegram, Ft.Worth newspaper mentioned $3000.00 dollar fine and community service as well.
  2. The following is the press release from the Rockwall County DA's Office: FROM THE ROCKWALL COUNTY CRIMINAL DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE April 13, 2010 On April 13, 2010, Robby Rose pled guilty and was sentenced to five years probation for the state jail felony offense of Attempted Theft over $20,000 but less than $100,000. In addition, Mr. Rose will be required to serve 15 days in jail and was ordered to surrender his fishing license for the duration of his probation. Mr. Rose, a well known competitive fisherman, competed in the 2009 Bud Light Trail Big Bass Tournament on Lake Ray Hubbard on October 24, 2009. The grand prize for the competition was a $55,000 Legend bass boat and would be awarded to the fisherman who caught the largest fish based on weight. Midway through the competition, Mr. Rose submitted a fish to win that prize. Upon weigh-in and inspection, tournament officials discovered a one pound lead weight in the belly of the fish. Mr. Rose was subsequently investigated by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department game wardens, and the case was filed as a felony by the Rockwall County Criminal District Attorney's Office. We took this case very seriously, said Kenda Culpepper, Rockwall County Criminal District Attorney. As far as we were concerned, the case was about a $55,000 bass boat, not a ten pound fish. Alex Imgrund, lead prosecutor, said that the facts of the case had garnered interest from sources as far away as Ontario, Canada. Cheating is cheating, and the fishing community, nor this office, will tolerate it. 3. Food for thought. Did the popularity of Nascar create over crowding on our highways? lol maybe some tail gaiters. To put it plain and simple. New roads and lakes can't be built fast enough to easy the congestion that some areas seem to have. This is a product of over-populating in metro areas. If you live near big cities, expect them boys to want to share your water, tournaments or not. If there were no tournaments, your still gonna see bed fishermen, people fishing for supper, and those just out to wet a line and soak up some rays. I learned to drown a worm before I ever knew what a tournament was. I love a good tournament, but now its the time to pass fishing on to my grandson. We gonna drowned some minnow and worms under a bobber for a few years. WE don't mind sharing a hole or two either.
  4. Just a suggestion, have you talked to other businesses in town that maybe expierincing the same things at the same times. Electric provider could be snowballing you and already know they have grid problems during peak times.
  5. I seem to remember the first two BR road trips to Lake Fork, both times, I slipped off and bought a couple pounds of minnows. Seems like after most had finished supper, we ended up on the big dock soaking some minnows for some crappie and whatever else decided to play. We had great time, and every one there was big time basser. I'm sorry, you put 10-20 guys on a forty foot dock casting and then you get another thread, How I hooked my buddy in the ear while casting in close quarters. lol When I was a little kid, I learned my trade by drowning worms and minnows, got start somewhere. Its amazing, guys travelled along ways to fish one of the US is best bass lakes, and guess what shows up to the dock party at night? Some of the parents busted out the kids snoopy poles and I don't remember any kids on the trip, yet the snoopy poles made the trip and soaked a shiner or two. Its all good.
  6. I normally replace the batteries when that happens on the UPS's at the hospital. But..... 3 different units doing the same thing would eleminate the inside battery being bad on all three units at the same time. Are the 3 units tied on the same breaker? Would appear to be. ?????? IF so, then maybe..... Large shredders, copier and laser copiers or larger appliances on the same circuit have been known to be the culprits when it comes to tripping UPS's.
  7. Its nice to hear something good about the west side of the DFW area lakes. Mineral Wells, don't hear much about that little lake. PK is one of the most scenic lakes in Texas, big beautifull high bluffs over looking the lake. Its a shame the Brazos fights golden algae blooms every year.
  8. Most humans will get them, its called aging. I'm no longer 20-20 without glasses, but still see just fine with reading glasses for short distances. I never needed glasses until I got into my 40's. I asked the Opthamalogist why, he said, your not as young as you once was. pretty simple and straight forward. Raul did a nice write up a few years back on how a bass see's and adjusts his eyesight. I'd like to hear Raul's take on how cataracts effect rods and cones.
  9. I like Tx rigged plastics that float. I think reading a bass and the bed is important, but getting a bait that noses down emulating something eating some roe gets them fired up at times. Say a bed is a foot in diameter, the bass maybe protecting an area not even the size of a dollar bill inside that nest. Theres usually one spot that they sure don't want you near, and their body movements will give hints when you hit that spot. You never know how many times that bass has been caught until you catch her and count the hook marks, sometimes they just aren't ready and will not get aggressive.
  10. Based on past performance, like most, it will depend on how fast the water drops past all that new growth that grew along the shorelines when she was down the past few years.
  11. Texas Stadium wasn't the symbol that made people like the Cowboys or the 5 titles that came while inside.\\ Tom Landry, Tex Shram, Roger Staubach, Whistling Ray and a host of other figures made the memories, and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders didn't hurt either.
  12. I believe that was Ivie's 7th this year over 13. she's on a nice peak right now.
  13. Skeety, you mentioned alot of the men got upset at the two ladies because they didn't qualify the same as the men. You thought they(the guys) were wrong for their feelings as you mentioned, and you said that it makes us look racist and redneck. Well the last part of your reply on the first page, you said, "you think they should qualify like the men do". LOL too funny, whats that make you? Skeety, this is the Super Bowl of bassin, the most media you'll see at an BASS event all year. What does media mean, camera time for sponsors, 50 less guys to compete with for camera time. This could mean re-signing a new sponsor or an old sponsor. This could mean a rookie coming back or having to quit cause he couldn't get enough sponsors to afford it another year. What did having a woman in the classic do to fellow competitors? It took valuable camera time away from a guy who beat out 50 other guys to earn that extra exposure time. So, yeah, I think the guys did have valid reason to be upset, just not for the same reason as you, it was a little deeper than qualifying. Flip the script, ladies don't fish for alot of money to begin with. Do you think the ladies would be upset at KVD, AOY from the mens side, for taking there Prize money or camera time away from them? And for the talent pool comment. There have been enough ladies events on some common waters to both the men and ladies, results will show the ladies will need to raise their weights up alot to hang with the men. Ladies events don't show them on the same playing field and thats not meant to belittle womens abilities, it based on ladies events and actual weights.
  14. Most mags have similar articles that give no new details, just presented differently 100's times over and over. Bass West and Gary Yamamoto's Inside Line are 2 of the best sources for tips you'll find. Most new techniques come from Japan via California. So for cutting edge new techniques, magazines that are from the west coast seem to be a cut above others.

I don't think thats a fair accessment of Jason and I'm not a deadskins fan. How many HD coaches has he seen, or how many years has he had the same offensive coordinator? Just like last year, didn't they take playcalling away from the HC, then hire a consultant to call plays? I know, its easy to blame the QB over the upper managment chaos.

Too bad the Iggy's didn't go out when Donnie was young and put talent around him at Wide out. Most teams that have won like the Iggy's have had some great talent at WR, something Donavan never had the luxury of until the past few drafts, except for that 18 month stretch with TO, one good WR his whole career. Donnie has put himself at the top of the passing records with a few that most NFL QB's would be happy with owning. No weapons in Washington, thats a good one, you've got McNabbs ability to scramble, Randal El, Moss, and Cooley at TE, and Shannahans made Portis a better back before. Donnie sure has owned my Cowboys for the most part, I know winning 3 times last year was nice, but that didn't happen very often over the past 11 years.
  17. Happy Easter all.
  18. Yellow Magics, pop R's, chug bugs, Spit n image, skitter pops. Just different tools in the tackle box.

8th seed Villanova was the lowest ranked seed to ever win the tournament. Expanding the field would be for money, not for added competition. Note to those who are on the Tarheels. Nothing will motivate a team more than allowing the tradition to slip on "your watch" so to speak. This does a few things for the Heels. It will keep these guys from leaving early for the draft, a problem NC normally has, and ending the season shooting and scoring the ball better as a team can only build for next year. An NIT banner hanging just might motivate this team to another run. Too many kids with talent across the US. BB can be played anywhere. Go Dayton, Go Butler!
  20. Dan, prayers and thoughts with you and your family.
  21. Cameron uploaded video to youtube. April fools joke. I was hoping it was true for some lucky person. >
  22. By the way, this year, Share Lunker #500 is worth $500 dollars a pound. Thats $6500 to start with. Good luck, and I hope some Bassresource member endorses that check this year. With a month to go for SAL's, and over 20+ being caught this year, it looks like #500 will come this year.
  23. If this isn't an April fools joke by Cam of Lake Fork Marina, this will be #7 on the all time list. Bad news, Cameron said this fish isn't looking good, swallowed the hook. Was said to be using live waterdog. Cam said pics to follow. Great year for SAL's around the state, banner year thus far.
  24. First off, those lakes have been around for 40+ years and they weren't kicking out those types of sacks or the SALs. Past SALs or lack of and tournaments prove the catch rates prior to the rains coming. OH Ivie is only half their age and has kicked out as many SALs in half the time. Can't blame BASS or FLW or out of state plates for the decline for 5-6 years of very few big girls showing up at Ivie. What history will show on Ivie, is water fluctuations, like getting 20-30 ft low for those 3-4 years and then filling up all the new growth and the fishing turned on again. Big fish showing up again. The only thing that hurt Ivie was Mother Nature and lack of water. I'm firm believer that fish go into survival mode, those big fish ya'll grow down south weren't stocked after the rains showed up, they were there, just not being caught. Best thing us Texans can do to keep the fishing great is learn to do RAIN DANCES. Rains effect deer populations, quail, turkey, and other species sought after by man. Mother nature takes care of her own in Texas, always has.
