  1. lol, i feel the same way. I used to get at least 10 a year. Then every single little sale flyer and promotion.
  2. tackle warehouse has it. I have seen it at Dicks, if you have a Dicks near you.
  3. original megastrike for me as well. I love it for the lubrication of my jigs when working through vegetation. I never throw a bait without megastrike on it.
  4. sounds fun, how did all your Abu Garcias hold up throughout the day? lol
  5. texas rigged, insert weight, weighted tube jig head inserted inside, jig head, shaky head. Pry every way except on a drop shot or as a jig trailer. Im going to go into next season really focusing on tubes. Of all the baits and techniques out there, the tube is the one i have the least confidence and success in. I feel every other part of my fishing is decent, but not when it comes to tubes. After going through old tube articles in bassmaster and doing some studying, it seems that the lighter the weight the better. I usually throw it with a 3/8 oz weight, maybe i should start using a 1/4?
  6. i think im the worst tube fisherman on the planet. I have all kinds of sizes, brands, colors, coffee scent, craw sent, salted, unsalted, and i have not caught a single largemouth on a tube. I have some success on my local small river with tubes for smallies, but thats rare.
  7. I have fired a hi point .380 and 9mm. The 9mm and the .380 had no problems at all. And have seen friends and other people at the range shooting the .40 and .45 and they have nothing but troubles. A friend of a friend purchased a .40 and has sent it back 2 different times. My brother in law bought his wife a Hi-Point 9mm to practice with before getting her a Colt 1911. I have not seen it jam once. It isnt the best feeling, looking, or mechanically smooth gun, but it always went bang. Would i trust my families safety on a High Point? only if it was my ONLY option. But id take a chainsaw lol
  8. i clean all my cork handles with simple green. Works fine for me
  9. nice, that bluegill swim jig is going to catch you somet bass. really nice
  10. I have fished the Smoke very very little, my buddy has one and i played with it a few times. I own an MGX and i love it, but i love my Gen 2 Premier more. The smoke seemed like a good real, but i didnt have the MGX at the time so i couldnt do a back to back test. Smoke, MGX, Core, you cant really go wrong. If you want to save money, i suggest the Gen 3 Revo SX, i dont have the exact weight in front of me, but it lightened up A LOT compared to the Gen 2s. I know it doesnt mean much, but the Gen 3 SX is one of the best looking reels on the market, throw a carbon handle on it and its beautiful. Speaking of looks, the new Daiwa Steez is the super model of baitcasters, its a thing of beauty.
  11. The rolls arent huge, but there is definately enough there for you to tie A LOT of jigs. I have a role in white, black, and brown and my brown has the least. I say i have tied 50 or so jigs with it and have another 50 id say before its gone. Not a very costly expense at all.
  12. i use 20 ga wire, just because thats whats available. I get mine from Hobby Lobby.
  13. Fishing with a brutal hangover is really hard. Especially when its really hot out and they arent biting and waves from other boats keep you a rockin. Not to mention you have stuff coming out of both ends. Not fun at all
  14. Cadman will hook you up with all the heads you need. I get all my skirts from fishingskirts. I get my tying wire from my local hobby store. I have white wire, brown wire, and black wire. I think they were all $1.59 each. I just match the wire to the skirt.
  15. Or a Smokin Rooster
  16. although i am not a tournament fisherman, i do fish with a buddy a lot. If im up front and im on a jig bite, say a black/blue jig with black rage craw trailer. He will throw a black/blue jig with a paca green pumpkin trailer, or a different color in general. Once he started doing this, his catch rate when up. I have no problem passing up some good looking spots so he can cast at them. The one thing i do hate is when he casts way up in front of me and takes away my cast. I dont mind this when we are throwing fast baits, but when we are working jigs or plastics, this bothers me a lot.

It all depends on what you are trading for. I dont know the numbers off the top of my head. For example, if you trade in a rod for a $100 rod you get $10 off. If you trade in a rod for a $300 reel, you get $25 off. These arent exact numbers, but just an example. I have old wal mart rods in my basement that i used as a kid, those are what i trade in. It doesnt matter if you trade in a zebco 33 or a Steez, you get the same amount.
  18. great story. I was in my buddies S10 and we were coming home from basketball practice at night. All of a sudden something hit his truck, i look in the side mirror and a deer had ran into the back passenger side of his truck. I dont like killing animals, so this was kind of sad. But the saddest thing was the deer was still alive, the cops came and shot it with a shotgun. That image will stay with me forever. I brake for squirrels too.
  19. nice bass. its definately over 8 lbs. As far as the lady friend goes, asking a girl to go fishing isnt the best way to ask for a date. lol. My wife will only go with me if its going to be bluebird skies so she can lay out and tan on the back.
  20. iv fished in below zero temps quite a bit. But that is ice fishing while sitting in a hut with a heater. Coldest iv ever ran a boat in was in the low 20s, that was unbearable. I love when i have a buddy out or the wife and its like 50 in the early am and theyre complaining its cold. They have no idea what cold really is.
  21. one lure would be punishment to me. It all depends on water conditions. I would say jig, but if the ponds are choked full of weeds and such, a frog would be a good tool. I think a pack of senkos, a jig, pack of grubs and a jig head will cover your needs and take up very little space.
  22. I dropped out of junior college, so my advice is probably not the best. But it seems that the the fishing industry is all about MARKETING. All these major tournaments on tv, fishing shows, and basically everytime you walk into a tackle store or visit a tackle website. Its all about marketing. I always thought a fun job would be a engineer for a reel maker. Just ask Big O, he has the greatest job on earth.

its definately worth it if you want rods and reels. As far as baits go, it depends on what you are looking for. Its not like some online stores where youre whole cart is a certain percent off. I usually save up my Rewards points for the sale, and with the reel trade in and Abu Garcias usual spring sale rebate, i can get a good deal. This spring im shooting for the new Daiwa Steez. If i dont have the availble funds in my "fishing fund" then it will be a Gen 3 Premier. I have yet to trade in a rod.
  24. got a Gen 3 Revo SX, live target mullet wake bait. Ranger long sleeve t shirt, ranger fishing towel, ranger hat, a pack of rage tail craws in blue saphire, pack of rage tail menace in blue saphire, a couple hack attack jigs(although i use northstars and my own home made jigs, i LOVE the Hack attack) a Carbon fiber reel handle for the SX,EVA knobs for the SX, and $150 in BPS gift cards. My birthday was dec 15th, so some of this stuff was for my birthday. I got myself a Phenix Recon rod for the SX, match made in heaven.
