Good post. i have not entered the tournament scene, but stories like this make me realize i am not cut out for it. Once fishing becomes work, i feel i will lose the love for it.

i also think the darker one resembles a earthworm the best.

nice to see ike, EE, and KVD in the top 10. My 3 favorite fisherman. Of the top 10, id like to see EE get the win. But KVD sitting in 4th cant give a lot of confidence to the rest of the field.

oh, my Gen 3 SX matched with a Phenix Recon is arguably the best looking combo i have ever laid eyes on. Everytime i look down an see it on the deck i think "thats just one badass looking combo"

congrats on the boat. Dont feel bad, the other day i had to pull the Ranger out so i could install my newly purchased garage heater. Well it was a decent enough day, so i decided to climb in and flipped and cast off the front deck. Granted the boats in the middle of the driveway. My neighbor came around the corner and asked,"are you catching anything?" I wasnt embarassed at all. Itll be 10 degrees and ill be out back casting and flipping towards trees and other objects. He chips golf balls, i stand in my boat and cast while in my driveway.

I hate when that happens. i hate when he has the BPS page up and the TW page up and purchases from both sites. One day he backed a Ranger down my driveway in front of my wife, and never even told her he was buying it. Hes such a trouble maker.

i change all of mine out to KVD triple grips. Not because i have ever had a problem with the stock hooks, i just dont want to take that chance. All of my redeyes get hooks changed as well. I just go in with the modo "better to be safe than sorry." I spend so much money on reels, rods, line tackle. I misewell get the best hooks while im at it.

60 yds? you must be a great caster. Thats KVD on free spool territory. what reel were you using?

Most of my setups have Sufix ProMix copoly on it. It is my line of choice. I think i pay $5 for 300 yds. So its very affordable and i have never had a single problem with it. Knot strength is great, abrasion resistence is great, memory is great, castability is great. I use it for flipping, topwaters, cranks, jigs, swim jigs, and have thrown swimbaits on it as well. Even landed a 40 inch musky on 10 lb test and a 6-6 medium action bass rod. I can only find it at my local Farm n fleet, i know BPS and other online retailers dont sell it.

bait monkey owns me. Although i buy baits here and there. My jig and spinnerbait making has gotten out of hand. Seriously out of hand. Havent been able to get on safe ice the past 2 winters, so i sit in my garage and organize all my tackle, make jigs and spinnerbaits, go over my Navionics chips while sitting in the boat and look at lakes i might visit in the future. The spring BPS sale will be brutal though. I need another Rage rod, a Hot Foot, Seaguar Red Label, KVD square bills and tons of other baits that i will pry throw once. that reminds me exactly of my first boat. I used to store it at the club lake locked to a tree. One day i was with my dad, he was in back driving the TM and i was up on the front rigging up. I could hear something under my seat but didnt think nothing of it. We anchored and started fishing and i could still hear something under my seat. After a few casts i looked down at my feet and there was a snake crawling over my feet. Into the drink i went, i am very very afraid of snakes. That little boat got me into fishing and at the time i felt like i was in a $60,000 Ranger. Unfortunately someone stole it a few weeks after the snake incident. I HATE SNAKES

i caught a still fully intact adult magazine. It was made of a laminated type of paper. It was really funny, considering i was with my wife. It was quite "graphic."

i wish gin clear strip mines that have 25+ foot of visibility. Anything natural looking will get the job done. But a blue glimmer shad strike king shadalicious in its smalles size is a fish catcher. I reel it through scattered vegetation and it flat out catches fish.

i thought Ish came off kind of arrogent. I have always liked him, but he had little comments that bothered me. The ref in his boat said "Grigsby caught another one" and he said something about how Shaw was probably explaining into extreme detail how he caught it. Then he called Shaw a poacher and said hed buzz every dock on his way out. Just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. It was awesome to see DB dominate, i loved the video editing. Theyd show someone whining or missing a fish and then have a cut of DB crossing the eyes on a 3 lber. I love this format as well. You can almost see the panic hit the guys when they hear someones catching them.
