  1. thick enough here, wetting a line and drilling some holes next week
  2. checked the ice today. Looks like ill be pulling fish through the ice come next week. Really excited, considering i only got out once last year.
  3. I was having a rough day while in wisconsin on a fishing trip this past year. I was hammering fish on jigs and beavers but the bite just stopped. I tried everything with zero results. I pulled out a devil spear and rigged it horizontal on a weighted swimbait hook and swam it around the lilly pads and absolutely killed them. It hasnt worked since, but it sure got me out of the rut that day.
  4. great reel. I have Gen 1s,2s and 3s. My favorite reel i own is a Gen 2 Premier, then my MGX, then my Gen 3 Revo S.
  5. I have noticed the Gen 3s come packed with grease in the bearings. It should still spin more freely, but flush your bearings and put a drop of oil on them and if the problem is still there. Just send it back.
  6. paca craws and rage craws. For swim jigs its rage tail menace or a single tail grub.
  7. wow, those are beautiful
  8. i dont throw a bait out that doesnt have megastrike on it. I even put it on my little ice fishing plastics when i ice fish.
  9. you must not ice fish
  10. All im thinking about is drilling some holes for my tip ups and then planting my heated Frabill about 35 feet off that point and jigging some Maki plastics.
  11. are amberjacks off the coast of the Outer Banks in North Carolina? Im heading back there next September and wouldnt mind strapping into one.
  12. what kind of fish is that? The only saltwater fish i have caught are flounder and blue fish in the surf, but that fish looks fun.

white homemade swim jig with a white rage tail menace trailer, or a homemade bluegill pattern with a green pumpkin rage tail menace trailer.
  14. I have an MGX, gen 2 STX, gen 3 SX, gen 3 S, several gen 1 an 2 Ss, Curado 200 G,Chronarch 50E,Revo Orra Inshore, and a Gen 2 Premier. I would take my Gen 2 Premier over any of my reels. The only reason i would want a Gen 3 Premier over the Gen 2 is you can get a Gen 3 with a 7.1:1 high speed gear ratio.
  15. yeah, but 20-60% off select items is pretty good to me. Not to mention free shipping over $50. There black friday sale they had everything 20% off. You can get a dobyns and kistler rod for real cheap. Cant remember the last time i seen that good of prices. Also, check there sale items.
  16. whatever reel and rod i have a 1/2 oz redeye shad tied onto. lol. That bait just casts like a rocket. My Revo Premier casts like a dream though.
  17. i have never fished a M1, but recently got a Recon and i love it. I chose the Recon over the M1 due to reviews saying it had a softer tip, and thats what i was looking for.
  18. ahhhh, that moment you get new baits and realize you have to wait several months to use them. Bait Monkeys fault
  19. you guys in NC must have it rough . Saturday it was 55, today it was 18 and snowing. Illinois sucks.
  20. Problem is the "collection" tackle becomes filled with more stuff than youd like. I have a whole boat full of "collection" baits. lol
  21. what he said. The SX is a finnicky reel if your a newcomer to bait casting. I have not had any backlash problems. But if you are new to baitasting, the S is for you.
  22. not necessary, but A LOT of fun.
  23. i dont care what happens, as long as Notre Dame loses. I would like to see Northern Illinois get a win. Noones giving them any respect. But let me tell you, they are a talented team. But pry dont stand a chance against fsu
