I would definately go used. I got my 2000 Ranger for 10 grand. 18 foot boat with a 150, 2 Down imaging units. All the storage,space,speed i will ever need. Like many of us, i would love a brand new 21 foot bass boat with a 300, but that wasnt in my budget. I had a 10 grand max spending cap. I found this Ranger at my local marina and knew i wanted it but wanted to price new tins. I realized quickly that not a single brand new tin under 10 grand was going to give me the things i was looking for that the Ranger fulfilled. I also have a kayak and i LOVE it. It seems i focus on everything more when im in my kayak. I dont have distractions like electronics,a deck full of rods, thinking i have to move. I fish the moment and focus on thing a lot more. I will have 2 rods rigged, usually one with a swimbait and the other a finesse setup. I will only carry a small bag with me with the essentials. 3 of my biggest 5 bass have been caught while i was in my kayak.

I have been very very hot over this issue (im pro gun). Recently i have been getting tired of defending myself and my beliefs. Now i just keep my mouth shut. I respect everything Glenn does for this site, i got out of line on another post and a mod disciplined me. I now know what i can and cannot do. I feel that the law abiding citizen who owns a gun is under attack. Kind of like when the school bully talks about you over and over, you can stoop to there level or be the responsible one and keep your mouth shut. I understand that no matter how much i argue or voice my opinion, its not going to change the opinion of the anti-gun advocate.

i also use the windex multi surface with vinegar. I have never really tried anything else though.

although this reel is something I'd love, it is not something i will own. My Gen 2 Premier is amazing, i cant imagine this reel is that much better for an extra $300.

i have seen most ARs going about $150-$300 over normal price. Most are in the $1,800 range. It seems ammo is the thing that is priced out of control. I was at a gun show today and .223 ammo was going for $1 a round. Before all of this happened, i was paying $5 for 20 rounds of cheap 7.62 ammo for my AK. At the gun show i paid $6. So AK rounds are still reasonable if you can find them. Even bulk boxes of .22s for going for $50, where before they were $25. Helping the economy, thats for sure.

my wife doesnt get mad at my spending. She just doesnt understand it. The only time i have ever had to explain myself was 3 months after we got married, i was backing a Ranger down the driveway. I never told her about it beforehand. After that point, i think she gave up. I still get the, " do you really need a new rod and reel" comment. i currently have a Tracker and a Ranger. I loved my tracker, but i needed to upgrade due to storage. I ended up giving the Tracker to my dad. My Tracker is a 2004, and my Ranger a 2000. Its like night and day. I paid the same price for the used ranger as i did for the new tracker. I suggest a good used glass boat. But if you fish small waters, have a tow vehicle that doesnt haul a lot of weight, on a budget, dont need the extra storage of a glass. Get a tin and call it a day. Now if you have 50 grand burning a whole in your pocket, get a new glass boat and have a blast.

i know your looking at a certain price range. But i paired my SX with a Phenix Recon and its a match made in heaven.
