  1. i went to bps to get the Bionic spinning combo, then i picked it up and new i could never fish with it. The reel felt like a brick. I felt like i was holding a catfish combo.
  2. Snakes? you my friend are tougher than me. If i saw a snake in my garage, that would be the last time i enter my garage.
  3. iv put a #3 willow blade on the back of a swim jig. Iv gone away from it due to its lack of weedlessness, but iv caught fish on it.

nice Bersa, iv gone back and forth for the past year on whether i should get one. Everytime i decide to go buy one, i get something else. My friend has one and i love shooting it.
  5. yes, I got 15 packs, thats 30 baits. Once i rig up an umbrella rig, rig em as trailers on swim jigs, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits. That doesnt leave much left over. I do the same with Shadalicious swimbaits, when i see them on sale i grab as much as my wallet will allow.
  6. bait monkey got me too. At the bps spring sale i picked up 15 packs. They better catch fish lol
  7. beef jerky, little container of cottage cheese with fruit or a small container of Yogurt, gatorade, water, and a few IPAs or Sam Adams Summer ales.
  8. At least you had the balls to bring your lady. I just showed up at our house with a boat, wife was very surprised. It was the boat monkeys fault though.
  9. TW has the Classic winning gear sale. It says Palanuik was using the new Velocity by Abu Garcia. But when i googled it, the rods black. He also had a maroon reel on the rod. It was definately a combo. You think we would know more about it. I know he was finesse fishing with a black Fenwick rod. Does anyone know the black/copper looking rod Ike was using every once in awhile. Resembled a Lightning Rod.
  10. i fish a similar pit to you. A blue glimmer shadalicious will wreck em. I throw all 3 sizes. One of my better big fish bait is the Mattlures gill. I have found the best way to connect with the big girls is during the spawn, because you can actually find them. I have a hard time connecting with fish over 3 lbs during the summer months. It doesnt always work, but if you can find some deep scattered vegetation, throw a flutter spoon. I have had some great days fishing a flutter spoon in deep grass. Just throw it out, let it hit bottom and then rip it up about 1-3 feet and let it flutter back down. Work it all the way back to the boat. I have found that the bluegill nitro BPS spoon is the best for my lake, but i have had luck on the sexy spoon and LFT spoon. But something about the gold on one side and the bluegill pattern on the other triggers more strikes. Not to mention, i have landed 3 catfish over 7 lbs fishing the flutter spoon.
  11. cadman, my favorite jig trailer in stained water is sapphire blue trailer on a black/blue jig. We were on a trip in Wisconsin and the only way to get bit was to be using the saphire blue trailer. I personally went through 3 packs of the saphire rage craws, then had to switch to the flippin blue paca chunks. I also love that color as a trailer for a black/blue chatterbait.
  12. You still havent bought that Ranger yet? You better go get it, you know you need it and want it. Slone got a new rig, now you need one.-boat monkey
  13. talk to Speed, hes the swimbait guy.
  14. I suggest the Daiwa Lexa 100 in the high speed model. Only $130 and is an awesome reel
  15. Mega Strike, a bait doesnt leave my boat without it.
  16. awesome rod, im sure you willl love it.
  17. great idea, ill look for it. I havent come acrossed it in awhile. I probably pitched it when i was bored and going through the bait monkeys tackle pile.
  18. i have C rigged them, T rigged them with and without a weight, rage rig, jig trailer, shaky head, i have even drop shotted them. I have caught some monster smallies out of a small river near my house on the Crawbug. If you have some jig heads laying around that the skirts fell off, throw a crawbug on it and work it around any cover you can find. When people fish with me, there are very few baits i have that i wont let people use. The Crawbug is one of them.
  19. storm baits- they never seem to run true and not a fan of there colors curl tail worms- i just cannot catch fish on them tubes-no confidence in them whatsoever
  20. "Just buy it, all the cool people are doing it. You know you need it"- boat monkey
  21. wow, that is one nice looking boat.
  22. i agree. Im an Abu guy, but i LOVE my Lexa.
  23. i found that same exact rapala hung up in a tree while wading a small river. I brought it home and switched out the hooks and split rings and it was a fish catching machine. I ended up overcasting my target one day and it cracked on a boulder. I bought the same bait in color and size, but it doesnt catch fish nearly as well as that one i found. I miss that thing.
  24. How do you like those Rapala lipless baits? Im a big redeye fan, but have been thinking about getting a Rapala.
  25. everything looks good. If it were me though, id add a walking bait like a spook or sammy.
