  1. Once you check everything already suggested, try a more streamlined skirt.

I've just started collecting some strike king swim jigs in 1/4 and 3/8 oz. I have no experience with them yet, but I can see the potential of them and the many applications where they can be used. I retrieved one through the water surface the other day, and did not appreciate the no action length of the skirt, so I trimmed them short to the hook for better action. Does anybody else do this or do I just like a buz cut.
  3. You can buy clip-on fishing viewers for your regular persc. glasses on the cheap.
  4. Found them at Gander Mountain today, must have just came in. I'm sure their gone by now.
  5. Big Bite , Yum Dingers.
  6. I think fish do become conditioned by their natural instinct for survival, the question is, do they pass these instincts to their offspring through the gene pool.
  7. If the fish aren't in the shallows yet, try a keal weighted space monkey, cast it on the steap banks and hop it off. Looks like a frog to me.
  8. Yum dingers are fine. Use the 5" ones, depending on cover that you will be fishing, might want to use a weedless hook. The senkos are better though, but are more expensive and don't hold up as well. good luck
  9. Springtime: Use spinning gear buy a white Booyah 3/16 oz. spinnerbait, swap out the small gold willow leaf blade with 1 size larger. Use a split tail trailer ( I like the Ricky Clunn brand @ BPS ). For a second bait buy a 1/8 oz. chatterbait ( Blk./Blu. ), with a small Yum craw worm ( Blk./Blu) for the trailer. Run the spinnerbait on the retrieve, jig or retrieve the chatterbait. Good Luck ! Have Fun.
  10. Real close to retirement, so I want to go angling more often, and just enjoy the experience. But I also need to scratch these new hard baits I bought, the bait monkey really got me this winter, with all the sales.
  11. I only have an hour! No reason to panic, I'll focus on keeping my line in the water and would'nt change a thing. Do'nt have time to change my logistics dude.
  12. I keep 99% of my plastics in their original bags so not to lose their good scent. I use to put all of my plastics in plano boxes, the boxes eventually turned black and the plastics had a foul chemical order. I believe that turned off the fish, so I ended up throwing them away.
  13. For me, I always loved being out in nature and trying to catch anything that swims as a child. So I guess that's why I love to fish to this day.But this put me in a high risk position to catch an incurable disease. It happen one day when a friend introduced me to an Ambassador 4600 reel / Berkley Lightning rod / and a strike King slow rolling spinner bait.
  14. I've heard it will warm up next week. I have a pond in my backyard and I'm always testing the water during the warm fronts we get here in virginia. I've found that two or three days of consistent warm weather put the bass in a prespawn mode, and have caught my biggest fish during these times. So if you fish on the first warm day, things will probably be slow depending on the body of water.
  15. Read the reviews on the Vision 110 @ TW.
  16. Try Sworming Hornet Sling Blade Flutter swimbait or what ever jigs.
  17. Sorry, I have'nt had much experience with skike king crankbaits. When casting shallow cranks in timber and brush piles, I like Bagley's BB1's square bills ,usually in a chartreuse pattern. When I hit timber or brush with it, stop and let the crank clear, balsa is very bouyant, and very seldom hangs up.
  18. Evalution jigs work great for exposing the trailer in a stand up posture. We all continue to experiment with new ideas, we need to these days of pressured fish.
  19. I believe fish see lures as looking similar to their pry and attack it before it can get away. But I still try to imitate as close as I can in a 3d and color pattern of their food. The abc's why bass strike.
  20. Mojo a floating worm or bush hog.
  21. Looks OK , depends on how much the twister claws really move when jigged. Not buying any more craws right now, I over stocked on crazy leg chigger craws this winter when I found them on sale.
  22. A spinner bait should be fished anytime its the percentage bait to be using. I consider the spinner bait as a high percentage bait for prespawn, not postspawn spring time fishing. There's alot of information on the "A" frame spinner bait, its too much to thing about, my head might explode, I'll stop here.
  23. I always use a splittail trailer ,because I think it helps me get more strikes. Confidence makes me fish harder, and no trailer hook , because I want to keep it weedless. I'll wait for somebody to talk about skirts, and skirt substitutes or no skirt at all

Lake fork or strike king for bass.
  25. Stay focused on the ( A-B-C ) 's that nature has given us all.The instinct for a fish to survive is to learn and remember, then pass it off to their offspring in their gene pool. This keeps the lure manufactures in business.
