  1. Welcome aboard!
  2. I was about done for the evening, sun was going down. Threw out a small rattle trap, red/craw colors, let it flutter down to the bottom. I lifted it a tad, thought I caught a log. Then the log started moving...and moving...and moving. Took me about 75-80 yards before I ever saw what was on my line... Most fun freshwater catch of my life, I'd say. Right next to my PB.
  3. 14# Striper, freshwater.
  4. Welcome aboard!
  5. Matching BPS's full retail pricing. Will have to check our local DSG to see if the bad news is true.
  6. I'm inclined to agree. Two $90 rods for under $10?
  7. Welcome aboard, Snake! DSG has a lot of great sales, depending on which store you go to...
  8. Glass, amber lenses.
  9. Use whatever size rod is comfortable to you. As a kayak fisherman, I don't like rods longer than 6'6". I prefer rods in the 5'9" to 6'3" range as they work better for me and my style. I do a lot of close- up casting in areas with overhangs, etc., that I feel a longer rod would be unruly for. It is a personal thing as I know plenty here swear by rods 6'10" and longer. As well, I usually lay my rods down in front of me, but will sometimes stick them in a crate (with DIY PVC rod holders) behind me.

LOL. We love to eat the meat, but cannot handle where it comes from!
  11. I'm not there yet, but when I'm ready to add some protection, I'll be looking at KeelEazy.com's products. Have read good things on other forums from yakkers who've used it them.

    Welcome aboard!
  13. Welcome aboard!
  14. A nice one is a great one especially if there are no other ones. A good day! Nicely done!
  15. Welp... I was 1-3 in my weekend predictions. Bengals should have won were it not for the insanity at the end. Stupidity at it's most stupid. And wow, I thought the Vike's would pull it off. A reminder of a wide-right attempt back in the early 90's by Mr. S. Norwood. Though not nearly as devastating. And thought the 'Skins would bust the Cheese Heads. But the '14-15 MVP showed up.
  16. Mentioned quite a few times about having sons in soccer. Three of my four, in fact. They all play travel soccer, one is a starter on his varsity team. Needless to say we are huge fans, mostly of the EPL, but one son is a huge Barcelona fan. The other two are Man U and Chelsea fans. Me? I just love the sport and enjoy matches.
  17. Assuming you mean line to terminal tackle and not to a leader? Depending on what you're using, try snelling your hook.
  18. That sums it up perfectly. Quite disappointing for my youngest son
  19. Welcome aboard, Jake!
  20. Welcome aboard, Rich!
  21. That's a healthy catch! Congratulations!
  22. Welcome aboard!
  23. Nice work!
  24. On Lunkerville yesterday was a Native Mariner pedal-powered yak, as well. But those are now discontinued, I believe. The Slayer uses a newer pedal system than its brother yak, Mariner. More efficient. As a mechanical system, the leg-powered yaks from Native and Hobie have benefits and issues to be aware of. So do a good deal of research before you drop the cash. Also, there are some Hobie-sponsored yakkers on the forums that can answer some questions, don't think there are any Native sponsored folks. Bottom line, Google the topic, the pros/cons and form your own opinion.
