  1. Welcome aboard, Charlie!
  2. Well, the Bills clearly have a great D. Time to work on that O to become a complete team. Broke Peyton's games-with-a-TD streak, so something to put on the chalk board, LOL.

    Welcome aboard! Nice hawgs!
  5. The times I root against Peyton Manning? When he plays my Bills. GO BILLS!!
  6. Man, nice. I went out yesterday (Fri) to NE winds, light, but I couldn't buy a bit if I had a million bux in my yak. Had 4 rods with different rigs including cranks and lipless. Nutin'. Now the reservoir has gotten very clear, and the level is down about a foot in the past week. So I'm guessing that may have contributed. Hoping, that is.

Whatever the case, it is very sad. The old saying "where there's smoke, there's fire" seems to be the case here.

    welcome back, teal!
  9. Nice! Congrats, sounds like a great buy. I've eyed these for a while, but the price of entry is too steep for me. Easier for me to upgrade my Chronarch 50e reels over time But whatever you do, don't go to Hedgehog Studios and look at custom parts for the Px R!!
  10. I agree with Grantman that braid+leader is the most versatile. While he goes with 40, I go with 20lb braid on a baitcaster and 10lb braid on a spinning rig. Leader material can be anything you want from fluoro, to copoly, to mono, to hybrid lines, etc.

  12. I imagine Bass Pro negotiates with companies like Walmart does. Tough. Sell product to us at huge discount if you want it on our shelves, and we'll in turn sell it for whatever we can get away with... Fat Roboworms - 4.5" are $5.19 at BPS and only $3.49 at TW... But BPS does have great deals at times!! I love their Carbonlite rods and Stik-O senko knock-offs. Hard to beat when on sale.
  13. Welcome aboard!
  14. Pretty sure this is my fattest bass. She was well over 6 pounds, but I can't find the note with her data... Wasn't my PB.
  15. Welcome to the addiction! Oh and the forums, too
  16. I've been at a couple sites drooling over the Aldebaran BFS XG. Dang. 8.0:1! Would love if my 50e reels had that ratio.
  17. Sometimes Bass Pro's site makes me wanna scratch my head.
  18. Not just the Chronarch 50e, but the 200 series as well. Only Chronarch is the CI4+. They're still at TW and elsewhere...
  19. Glad to hear his first was a success. Hope the next surgeries go smoothly, as well.
  20. Here's to a speedy recovery!
  21. Do you plan to use this straight spooled, or as a leader tied to braid, or other mainline? If you're going to use it straight on spinning or baitcasting gear, try some line conditioner as some of the copoly brands can be rather springy and jumpy off your spool in coils. I don't think anyone is truly qualified to say what line is "best" as that is entirely subjective to that person's opinion. I've tried a number of copoly brands and like Yo-Zuri Hybrid and P-Line Floroclear the best. That's me, you can do a search and find others who hate the Floroclear line... experience matters. Pick one and try it out.
  22. Congrats. My wife would probably approve of that today if only to get my fishing gear out of the house. See, I have a car port attached to a "shed" which is already stuffed to the gills. So my fishing gear is inside and in bins, or like the rods and reels, against walls or on a circular rod holder. Problem is, it drives her crazy. Before I try to convince her I *need* a new reel, I *MUST* clean the fishing clutter.
  23. First, welcome to the forums! While I don't throw a lot of topwater, I tend to use M/F and M/XF for the ones I do. However, I think your choice would serve you well.
  24. Yo-Zuri is a bonding of copolymer line and fluorocarbon. Hence "hybrid". It's rated strength is high, but so is the diameter for said line. I use YZH quite often for leader. For a looong time I used P-Line Floroclear - which I still love - which is a copoly line *coated* with fluorocarbon. But I've since bought several 600 yard spools of YZH for like $9 each. So I've been using it in 6 and 8 lb test on several of my setups (as leader tied to braided mainline).
  25. LOL, yup. Turning 40 brought the inexplicable weight gain. 45? What you said.
