  1. None of the above, my favorite fluorocarbon line is Seaguar InvizX and my favorite mono is Stren Original.
  2. Finding, reading, and fishing shallow cover not only came natural to me but is also my favorite way to fish, nothing better than pitching a jig into a thick laydown and hammering the rod back into a biggin 8-) Drop-shotting has also come very natural to me, which I think is strange because it seems way out of my comfort zone of shallow cover and heavy gear.
  3. I'm killing em right now on a 1/4oz chrome/blue back rat-l-trap burned across grass flats and parallel to laydown trees. Finesse jigs and texas rigged sweet beavers inched through shallow cover have also been consistent producers lately.
  4. Great report and awesome fish!!! Gotta love those river smallmouth 8-)
  5. tell me about it, I'm addicted to the G-top, I can't seem to leave there without spending a whole lot of $$$. Plus, like you said, they carry a lot of the smaller bait companies and harder to find stuff...which is also the reason why I still prefer Greentop over Gander Mountain.
  6. Pointer 100 and Pointer 78... However, when spotted bass and smallmouth are present a slender pointer 112 seems to work better.
  7. The action of the fluke is totally random, that's what makes it such a great bait. But you can help it keep it down by inserting a finishing nail or two into the head as weight and keeping your rod tip down when twitching it.
  8. I really like ZOOM baby brush hogs, Netbait paca craws, and sweet beavers for flipping in heavy cover. However when confronted with more sparse cover I will switch to 5/16 or 1/4oz jig.
  9. The ramp was just fine, a little crowded but William's always is. The water levels seemed ok in this stretch, however I floated the upper Pamunk from the golf course down to 360 bridge and the water was EXTREMELY low. Water temps however were pretty good, 69-71 all over the river...just a week or three more and those smallies ought to start feedin up a storm. I caught the first fish on a Mann's 1- fishing those weed edges in Macon, there was bait everywhere in there, and I also lost a nice 3+ at the side of the boat. The other keeper was caught on a LC pointer 78. But saturday made me realize that I really need to talk to some people that catch fish regularly on this river, I'm getting tired of these 2 and 3 fish days while other guys are pulling in 10 and 12lb limits...
  10. ZOOM trickworms and 6" straight tail Roboworms.
  11. Sounds like it was just an off day, the fish weren't quite in a feeding mood maybe...

    Bandit 200 series, by far
  13. Went to the local tackle shop after a tournament today and decided that if I would have just had another Loomis maybe I would have won the dang thing...But then I walked by the baby brush hogs, and the finesse worms, and the hooks...and eventually I just decided that if I was going to buy th rod then I needed the matching t-shirt. 8-) 8-)
  14. There was a tournament today out of William's Landing on the Pamunkey River that I really wanted to fish but it's a dang good thing I didn't. The entry fee was $40, which is pretty cheap for a tournament around here, and I was gonna enter but my dad brought up a good point about how we would might as well just write a check for $40 to the winner... However, even though we weren't in the tourney we still decided to fish the river. Went into Macon Creek first thing and caught a nice fat keeper and lost another beautiful 3lber. fishing weed edges with a Mann's 1-. Got nothing for several hours after that un til we pulled up to a bluff bank just upriver from the first set of pilings and I caught a keeper on an LC pointer 78. That was it for the day though...the winner of the tournament had 10.71lbs so it's a good thing we didn't enter or we would've been out of another $40. 2 fish of the day. Triton9 and his dad in Macon creek with us, they were in the tournament and also had only 2 fish.
  15. Cavitron is the best buzzer I have ever used, something about that slow gurgle with a nice squeaky chirp thrown in there that drives fish crazy.
  16. Dang I wish I could get my hands on some Paddle tail tubes...but it looks like I'm gonna have to wait a looong time
  17. The baitmonkey has gotten me yet but he will tomorrow...headin up to Greentop and Gander Mountain for another Loomis, another Citica, and most likely a whole pile of other stuff 8-)

I've caught some hawgs recently dropshotting a 6" Sculpin FX in aaron's magic and aaron's magic/red flake... I also like the 4.5" straight tails in green pumpkin neon and mean green.
  19. Love that show, Zona is IMO the funniest and most entertaining fishing personality to date. His show is pretty informative but it is geared more towards entertainment, which isn't a bad thing...
  20. Baby brush hog is an awesome trailer, I use it for all of my deepwater jigging.
  21. Nice fish!!! Nothin better than catchin lunkers on yer own homemade jigs on the pouring rain 8-)
  22. I agree, you can work a Cavitron slower than any other buzzbait...but I don't use double-buzzers so I'm not sure about those.
  23. dang man you took an ole beater and turned her into one beautiful truck, nice work man!!!
