How does the gunfish preform
The Gunfish is an amazing topwater, it slashes, spits, and walks all over the place... If you want a very noisy, frantic action the the Gunfish is perfect.

Line for drop shotting

Pamunkey River, 12/1
Well, this time of year in the local rivers it's all about wood cover positioned on the first breakline out from the bank. It's very predictable, I just pull up to a spot that is somewhat out of the current, find the break, and fish it until I find a piece of wood cover that is on the break, and you'll know it when you find it cuz you're guaranteed to get bit...

Pamunkey River, 12/1
Hit the Pamunkey today for a couple hours of afternoon bassin'. We got off to a really good start when we pulled up to our first spot, my first 8 casts produced 8 very nice fish. But then the bite died there, so we headed up to a nice point that always holds big fish on low tide, well we timed it right and I got a nice 3lber to the boat (a very good fish for this river). After that we fished around for a couple hours and only caught 2 more keepers, but a great day for the ole Pamunkey... I caught all of our fish (my dad zeroed for the day ) on 4" ZOOM finesse worm in green pumpkin on a drop-shot rig, also dipping the tail in chart. dye seemed to help... first fish. 3lber... close up of the 3lber...

My wading spot
That looks a lot like a section of the upper James river that I wade fish all the time... beautiful spot though.
-
worst fishing conditions
20 degree air temp, spitting sleet and snow, and windy as hell... or, 100+degs, 90% humidity, and not a hint of breeze... Fishing during a hurricane is also not recommended (trust me on this one )

Kistler rods
I only own one Kistler rod but I tell you what that thing is a workhorse. It is a 7' MH Graphite Plus, it's as sensitive as any other rod in or above that price range, it can winch 6+lb fish out of some nasty cover with no problem, and basically it's just a joy to fish with. Now I've never heard of or seen a Kistler with a faulty or sloppy reel seat, I have a Shimano Curado 100B mounted on mine and haven't noticed any problems, and I have handled MG's and LTA's and never noticed a loose fitting reel seat. I can't really say anything about their warranty because I have never had a problem with the rod and hopefully I never will. Kistler makes a good rod for a reasonable price IMO and I will never hesitate to buy another in the future.

Innovative Soft Plastics
Here's a couple cool baits, not exactly brand new but... first is the Megabass bumpee hog pretty cool lookin little craw imitation IMO. And the next bait most people have at least heard of, I myself have actually caught 5 bass over 5lbs since using this bait. The GYCB flappin hog Great for flippin and pitchin in heavy cover

Spider Jigs Vs Skirted Jigs
I only throw spiderjigs when I want a bait with the same action as a skirted jig, but much less bulkier. For example, while fishing Claytor Lake in western VA over the summer I tried throwing several types of skirted jigs for a while with only a couple small fish. Then I switched to a green pumpkin GYCB hula grub on a 1/4oz jighead and began to really tear up the spotted bass and smallmouth. I think this is because the fish were in a feeding mood, they just wanted something that was a little less threatening and/or less bulky as a jig. But other than that, I always have a jig tied on at least one rod everywhere I go no matter what. Because jigs can catch fish anywhere and everywhere

Yamamoto rods ?
hm yeah i guess so. Because the one's I handled had foam grips and just seemed cheaply made...

VT at UVA
Man what happened to my 'hoos? they played a decent game up until the 4th quarter and then they just fell apart, @#%$ %&^*^ HOKIES &^&*% > > > > but tell you what man Chris Long is one helluva ball player, he definetly has a bright future ahead of him.
-
Yamamoto rods ?
I've handled a couple at a local shop and didn't like them at all, not sure why but they just didn't feel right and I hate the foam grips. Gives the rod a 'cheap' look and feel IMO...
