  1. I hear ya, they're the only boxes I buy anymore.
  2. I use an owner 1/0 most of the time, however I will step up to a 3/0 when shotting 6" and 7" worms And sometimes I will flip a dropshot with a gamakatsu 2/0 superline wide gap, a 3/4oz weight, and 30lb braid
  3. I recently got second in a tournament on the Appomattox river pitching a watermelon seed ZOOM baby brush hog t-rigged on a 2/0 gammy superline hook and a 1/8oz weight. The bass in the tidal rivers really tear these things up, especially if you put a little garlic scented chart dye on the tails.
  4. dang man, I'd take a cloudy rainy day over a sunny bluebird day every time...just seems like the fish around here are more active when it's cloudy and windy or rainy.
  5. I thought this one was hilarious...
  6. I had 2, but I lost both of em to stripers a while back, and they are a pretty good topwater. The action can be described as a cross between a popper and a sammy, it walks but it also pops and spits like crazy. Not an amazing bait but they catch fish and its probably not a bad idea to have one or two in your box.
  7. Check out the TT review here... http://www.tackletour.com/reviewtrophysticks.html
  8. I used for a little while and it wasn't bad, it had a few memory issues but then again there isn't a fishing line out there that doesn't. However I have gone back to good ole Stren original for all my mono needs and I love it! I have also now started using P-Line Evolution, which is classified as a "copolymer" but whatever it is I know it's not braid, it's not fluoro, and it is awesome.
  9. haha awesome vid LBH, and you got that whole dance thing down buddy...maybe we'll see a crank dat LBH vid soon 8-) ;D
  10. that is a dam nice fish baer, I can't think of a better way to pass time between classes 8-) what'd she hit?
  11. Awesome fish Chris, I love it when they hammer frogs!!!
  12. Paca chunks, ZOOM chunks, and GYCB double tail grubs
  13. A really hot bath and a little time in the dryer and we might be able to fit you in that boat. ;D ;D ;D
  14. InvizX is the only fluoro I will use anymore, I have put that stuff through so much abuse that would even make braid cringe and it still holds up just fine...
  15. Here's my gear... 6'6" Medium Heavy G-Loomis Gl2, Shimano Citica 200D 7' Medium Heavy Kistler Graphite Special, Shimano Curado CU-200 7' Heavy Daiwa Flippin' Stik, Shimano Citica 200D 6'6" Medium All-Star American Classic, Pfleuger Supreme 7' Medium Fin-nor, Daiwa Sweepfire 2500 (helluva deal for $15 ) 6'6" Medium All-Star American Classic, Shimano Spirex 2500 ...soon to be added to this list is a new Loomis GL2 and a new Curado 100D
  16. 1. Jig 2. ZOOM trick worm 3. Sweet beaver 4. War Eagle spinnerbait

My homemade finesse jigs, a 5/16oz black/blue/brown jig to be exact, and texas rigged ZOOM speed craws and baby brush hogs.
  18. Why yes it would, if only it was "actual size"....that is pretty cool though
  19. Hit the Pamunkey this morning and was looking forward to a good day as the forecast called for overcast and cloudy all day, however the tide did not cooperate. It was dead low when we got to the ramp @ 7:00 and was a steady incoming for the rest of the 5 hours we were out there. We did manage to get 5 and one decent one though... This one hit one of my homemade 5/16oz watermelon/brown finesse jigs. Another shot My dad caught this little spotted bass on a war eagle spinnerbait, notice how bright red the eyes are The water temp was around 73-74 all day, so just a couple more weeks before the smallmouth and Spotted bass bite should really light up.
  20. My God...now that my friends is the American dream, however I am required by my official BassResource.com Shimano Posse membership to make a witty comment about how them dang floogers n garcia's is the devil... But because of your great contributions to the baitmonkey I will let it slide this time, the baitmonkey salutes you
  21. Ahhh, I thought it was mostly due to the lack of rain but now I see the levels are mostly affected by the waterworks drawing water... Thanks for posting this.
  22. WOW ...Now that is bringin the big sicknasty (sorry guys, just a little baseball lingo :) Amazing fish, and awesome story!!!
  23. Throwing carolina rigs and deep cranks across points is a very good early fall strategy around here. However we still got a week or two more before the fish really start tearing up the shad in the backs of the creeks, that's when I'll break out the shallow cranks, flukes, Pointer 100's, and possibly the greatest fall bait of all-time the Rat-L-Trap.
