I really like the Persuader Big jig in black/blue with a paca chunk trailer (this combo has landed a 6lber and three 4+'s this year) But I also like the All-Terrain jig, Eakins/jewel jigs, and me and Triton9's own homemade finesse jigs.
  2. I broke down and finally bought a pack of GYCB swimming senko's, for $7 :). But I figured why not, they could be the next big thing, and for $7 they better be I got em in watermelon/gold glitter and am going to try them out t-rigged with an 1/8oz weight at the pond tomorrow... Man I can't wait until YUM or Gambler or somebody makes an imitation bait I can get for cheap.
  3. I'm still waitin for a day like that But after fishing the Rivanna and James Rivers in the dead of summer I have noticed that on several occasions the biggest fish were caught in the shallowest available water but most of the fish were caught in the deeper pools and riffles.
  4. VA's record is 8-1 caught in March of 2003 on none other than the New River, which has been hailed as one of the best smallmouth rivers in the country
  5. Nice couple of keepers there, and that top pic is pretty good for a camera phone.
  6. And here's another nice smallie from the James, it weighed 4.5lbs... And here's a nice 6lb largie that came from the lake out in front of T9's house, caught on a Spro bronzeye frog
  7. Well due to technical difficulties Triton9 sent me some pics to post on here, here's one of the many good fish T9 has caught out of the James, a 3.75lb smallmouth...
  8. Wow man nice fish and NAWIIIIICE BURN!!!! ;D I bet that hurt i the mornin...
  9. You mean HE did pretty good, yer dad kicked yer tail , I'm just kiddin man. But I really do think that part of the river hates you or something.
  10. I'm not sure if they make it or not, I tried to go to Mann's website but it is under maintenance. If you can't find it there then you might want to try a very similar bait... It's called the Boze ZZ Walker, basically the same bait with a "new" look. http://www.***.com/descpageHDTNATFRIEN-BZZZW.html
  11. I heard how ya did, hahaha man you just can't catch a break at that river ;D ;D ;D....but it's ok man I can't even fish in the tourney on the 8th :'(

I can't catch anything on em to save my life, at least around here. Every time we go down to Florida I tear em up on the chatterbait but they won't touch it in any of the rivers or lakes around me. But I am very interested in seeing how that "vibraspin" (I think thats what its called) from KaRu lures works at night, it looks like it gives off a lot of vibration.
  13. I swear you are the only guy I see on here that catches quality fish like that on a regular basis, you got some talent...and its good to feel good after helping somebody in need
  14. Dang dude, me and my dad should be out there with yall...but instead we're stuck on land trying to fix this stupid m************* trolling motor > >....which we still have no idea what the problem is > >
  15. Haven't heard from ya in a while, nice job nailing the lunker on the light stuff. Any pics?
  16. Is this the bait? It's a Mann's Ghost.
  17. I like a 6'6" Medium fast action rod, the light tip gives the fish time to take the bait and it has more than enough backbone to horse em in.
  18. I don't know, that sure does sound good, but I'm really lookin forward to pickin up one of these baby's... mmmm mmmmmm man that looks good
  19. Sounds good, but for a moderate retrieve I would probably try the 1 or 1.5oz with a double willow or one big willow blade. ...and one other thing, don't forget a trailer hook!!!!!
  20. Another good point, and yet again your endless pit of information has persuaded me otherwise Yeah they do cost a pretty penny but they last forever and are solid reels for anything from medium freshwater to heavy saltwater applications... But this right here is what want SOOOOOOOO bad, I just can't make myself spend over half of my cash on it http://www.***.com/descpageRLCSHIMANO-SCOCR.html#
  21. Very good point there Raul, the curado is a good reel at a decent price...the only thing I have noticed is that after handling the citica and the rado I didn't notice anything that would have justified paying an extra $80, so I bought 2 citica's...Don't get me wrong the curado is a nice reel I just went with the cheaper almost as good alternative. I guess I'm just really shocked at the prices of their new reels, especially the new spinning reels. $700 for the stella, I could get a Van-Staal for cheaper than that and be set for the next 25 years...What I'm really trying to get at here is I'm sure the new reels are amazing I just wish I could afford em
  22. I've been drooling over all of Shimano's new reels and man do they look absolutely AWESOME...but one very "not awesome" thing I've noticed about them is their price tags, $270 for a new sustain, $700+ for a new stella, and $350 for the core...this is nuts, I can barely afford $200 for a new curado (which was also given an unjustified $80 dollar price hike IMO) It used to be $120 for the most reliable and plain best casting reel for bass, what's happening?!?!?!?
  23. Those are actually really nice bags, I printed like 8 of the mail-in coupon off of All-Star's and sent em all in...Lo and behold a week later there were 8 All-Star and Pflueger bags on my doorstep
  24. I throw em in any situation where a bulky bait won't get the job done, pressured fish, clear water, cold weather, small fish/forage, etc. My two top producing finesse jigs are made by Eakins/Jewel jigs, they are the Pro Spider finesse jig and the finesse football jig. I use the 5/16oz Pro Spider jig in shallow water (1-8ft.) and in very natural colors like watermelon flash, PB&J, and blue/brown. For trailers I use a ZOOM lil critter craw or a RI smallie beaver in a matching color. The 1/2-3/4oz finesse football jig is used in deeper water (10-20+ft.) and in natural and darker colors like PB&J, black/blue, blue/brown/purple, and watermelon flash. Trimmed baby brush hogs and GYCB twintail grubs are the best trailers I have found for the football jig.
  25. ahhh...I see, thanks guys
