Hey T-rig...
I was looking at some pictures you posted of a coupe jigs and I noticed that the weedguards were trimmed down to where they were barely even with the hook point, and I am wondering to you do this to all of your jigs? If so then what are the benefits of trimming it down that far?

Basspro48/Triton9 pond outing results
Thanks LBH, we spent a couple hours fishing the lake in front of T9's house but all we could catch was dinks. So we decided to head to the smaller pond (in which we have caught three fish 4+lbs and one fish 6+lbs in the one month that we have had permission to fish it) and heave a mattlures bluegill for some lunkers but for the second time in a row of going up there we had to leave within ten minutes...but hey I guess I won the tournament since I caught the only keeper, right? ;D

Line stretch is not a evil thing
Thanks, it's a 1968 Mustang Cobra Jet. Anyways back to the important stuff.... Looks like a '71 Ford Torino (with a 428 cu in Cobra Jet). Now, to the important stuff. The only application where I use braid is pitching, and frogs/toads in heavy cover. Otherwise, I pretty much rely on mono for al other applications. Pretty sure it was a 68 cobra jet...but I could be wrong

Sunday series tourney, 8/19
Fished a sunday series tournament on the Pamunkey river (in central VA) this morning and man was it tough. Me and Triton9's dad drew boat #48 and were basically the last guys to launch, but even after the late launch I managed our first 2 keepers within 45 minutes of the launch on a Stanley bull ribbit. But the river became the dead sea for about the next 3 hours until we finally caught a few nonkeepers and our third and last keeper of the day with about 20 minutes to go on a chart/white spinnerbait. Our weight was a measly 3.53lbs I think the winner had like 9.6lbs or something like that, and big fish was 3.77lbs. But it wasn't a complete loss as I enjoyed it and I will be fishing another sunday series on sept 2nd.

Line stretch is not a evil thing
Thanks, it's a 1968 Mustang Cobra Jet. Anyways back to the important stuff, I actually do sometimes when the Pamunkey gets real muddy in the winter and it works great. However, most of the time I can't use braid because of the water clarity so I stick to fluorocarbon for plastics and jigs and mono for cranks, jerks, topwaters, and anything else with a treble hook.

Smallie Crankbait
I'm in central VA and fish tidal waters like the James and Pamunkey rivers for smallies, my top producing cranks are... 1. Bandit 200 series, Rootbeer 2. Bandit 100 and 200 series, taco salad 3. Bagley Kill'r B, brown craw 4. LC GDS mini DR, chart. shad

Line stretch is not a evil thing
I like a fair amount of stretch in my line when I am fishing treble hook baits like cranks and topwaters. But I don't like any stretch when I am fishing bottom baits like jigs or even weightless worms, this is because a lot of stretch in your line can result in a weakened hookset and lost fish, and to counter the limited stretch I just set my drag a little more loose than normal to make sure that no fish get away with my bait in their mouth.

Frog lures
My favorite is the Stanley bull ribbit rigged on a 4/0 wide gap owner hook...my biggest fish so far on frogs came from FL back in April... she was caught @ 6:20 in the am in a canal in front of my grandpa's ranch, she weighed 6.44lbs.

High end $ surface poppers
Lucky Craft G-Splash, this bait pops, spits, and walks the dog and it drives the fish crazy.

Found some old Bomber "wooden" lures....
they certainly sound like a good find, got any pics?

Senkos or Tubes for Smallies??
Absolutely get some GYCB hula grubs, rigged on a 1/4oz rock hopper jighead they are like smallie candy. Other than that your set to go, you might also want to consider picking up some hard jerkbaits like Smithwick Rogues, husky jerks, and LC pointers.

drop shot line?
Vanish is absolute garbage, try P-line pure fluorocarbon or Seaguar InvizX they are much more manageable and perform much better than vanish.

Zoom Trick Worm Colors
If there's another tackle shop near then they are required by fisherman's law to carry trickworms in at least 10 different colors...seriously any good tackleshop should have them and if they dont get some online.

smallies on the fly
Yup, I love watching smallmouth come up to smash a Dahlburg diver or other deer hair popper. I also have really good luck on my homemade clouser minnows tied with bucktail and marabou.
