Fly Fishing for Largemouth
Yup, when throwing those big deer hair poppers and streamers a tippet is not necessary. I get by with just a 6-8ft. leader of 14lb mono or 12lb fluoro for streamers.

Removing in-dash flasher
There is a lowrance Bluewater Pro flasher unit mounted in the middle of the dash of my X18 and I'm gonna take it out because I just don't like flashers. But I am wondering if I could mount a depthfinder in there or what I should put in its place, what do you guys think?

Opinions.........help
My first boat was a 1996 Pro 17'6" Basstracker with a 45hp Mercury, it was a great first boat and worked wonderfully. I have since graduated to an Xpress X18 with a 150 Merc but there is a pattern, they are both aluminum boats. The tidal rivers I fish can be very dangerous and would chew a glass rig to pieces so I stick to the dependability and durability of aluminum boats. So in conclusion, go with the tin boat it'll stand the test of time on the water better than any glass rig out there...

Rattle Trap
I only throw traps in the fall and winter and my most productive retrieve by far would be ripping. Throw it out there and let it sink to the bottom, then pop it off the bottom. They usually nail it on the drop or right when you rip it off the bottom.

What's the most crushing soft plastic to C-Rig?
The best C-rig bait is as follows...THERE ISN'T ONE!!!! As far as I'm concerned the c-rig is the most boring and unproductive way to fish. Now others will argue that it is very effective and it probably is, but not for me. When I am confronted with a situation that would require a c-rig I do the following... Step 1. Shudder at the thought of throwing a c-rig and trash the idea Step 2. Tie on a heavy jig and start hauling in lunkers Step 3. Repeat However, if you must put yourself through the pain of dragging that useless rig around then try a ZOOM trickworm or finesse worm

Barry Bonds
I hope he breaks his leg today and is out the rest of the year, I cannot stand that guy > And everytime I turn on the game, even if its not a SF game, it's like the Barry Bonds show. That's all they talk about the whole time, and you know it's not about baseball anymore when the camera is focused on Bonds sitting the bench half the game..."And there goes the god of baseball Barry Bonds walking off the field after is third K of the game"...makes me sick...

Is it worth it?

Is it worth it?
I'm definitely gonna shoot for this job, I just hope they still have the openings when I get my license in a couple months. And thanks to all yall for voicing your opinions, it really helps hearing other people's viewpoints...and I found a saweeet Bronco for sale thats got a 12" lift, 38's, and its really cheap. Just a little engine work and she'll run good, I just gotta save up the money first

Favorite Rig
Most productive would probably be a GYCB hula grub on a jighead, but I love it when they'll smash a crankbait...

New Smallmouth record??
A nice fish for sure but no where near a record...and welcome to the forum stepchild!!!

Is it worth it?
not sure yet as I'm still looking, it will probably be an early 90's Ford F-150 or Ranger standard V6 which will get much better mileage than my dad's F-150 V8 that I currently drive.

Re: riverside soft plastics
Riverside's are awesome at 97 cents a bag. What I have found is that most all of the Riverside baits I see are just YUM baits that were thrown in a Riverside bag and sold in the bargain bin.

Drop-Shot Technique in Pads, heavy weeds etc...
I drop-shot in thick cover with a 7' MH Kistler baitcasting rod and 20lb fluorocarbon or 40lb braid. The rig usually consists of a 2 or 3/0 wide gap offset Owner hook, a RI sweet beaver, 6-12 inch leader, and a 3/8-3/4oz weight. However, sometimes I will drop down to a 2/0 worm hook and ZOOM finesse worm or 4inch roboworm.

Is it worth it?
I can't take a bus because I live out in the boondocks and there really is no bus service until you get into Richmond city, and I think minimum wage is like $5.15 an hour here in Virginia.

Is it worth it?
I'll be getting my license soon and I am looking for a job to pay for my own truck, gas, etc. and it just so happens they are building a Gander Mountain near me. They got plenty of positions open in the fishing department and not only would I be makin money but an employee discount and I get to talk about and mess with fishin stuff all day. The only problem is the store is about 18 miles away which is about 25 minutes one way, and I'm not sure, with minimum wage and having to pay for gas, if I'll have much money left over. What do yall think, is it worth it?

Dobyns Rods...
I'm lookin for a new spinning rod and I am almost set on another Kistler but before I pull the trigger I want to know if anybody has any opinions on Gary Dobyns' new line of rods? They look sweet and the price isn't that bad for a rod of that caliber...

Shimano Core
Yup, it's brand spankin new and so are Shimano's new Cumara rods. If only I had a couple hundred more $$$'s then I could be using em instead of drooling over em...
