I couldn't agree more, especially after watch the live footage from Chickamauga. This tournament was right during the spawn and most fish were coming off beds. The guys were fishing the same spots for multiple days and definitely catching many of the same fish over and over.

Might actually help get you on plane with all the weight up front! But man, a 70lb thrust TM on that boat would be awesome. My buddy had one on his old 175. You never had to run it above a 2 which made the batteries last forever.

That sounds like a good plan. I got the 50 on mine so I need the fuel. I have to replace my front deck so I may try to reconfigure some space up there for 2 batteries. I would lose storage space but it might be worth it.

You definitely will. If you can swing a 24v 70lb thrust motor, you'll be glad you did. I've been running a 46lb thrust motor guide on my tracker pro team 170 for years and it ticks me off when the wind picks up. If I had room in the battery compartment, I would've put a 70 on it a long time ago.

Those are usually the best places to fish!

More power to you guys. I just can't get myself into it. I want to, especially due to living in the city now where storage space is non-existent. Nothing beats the comfort of a glass bass boat on big water and my 16ft Tracker on small water though. I will likely have to settle for a Bass Raider in the interim before I can find a place for my boat.

The flat bill is goofy but I rock one from time to time. The sun blockage is way better than the normal curve. The less sunblock I have to wear, the better, haha.

Evers is not a nice dude! Watch the live BPT footage. He's a dink to his officials and he complains a lot too about other people fishing when they are having events. Marty Stone classifies him as an "intense competitor" which is code for jerkface.

I have zero confidence that BPT/MLF will attract the kind of attention they're hoping for. It may be the highest viewed bass fishing show right now but that could be due to the fact that the Discovery channel comes standard with most normal cable packages, whereas, all the other fishing shows air on the Outdoor channel, which doesn't. As negative as I come across, with regards to MLF, I really do applaud their efforts though. I think it would be pretty dang cool to have bass fishing become a mainstream sport where a guy like me could make a pro athlete's salary for doing something I love to do. Unfortunately, I don't see it ever happening. And yeah, 7-9am Saturdays...that's tough. The fishermen are out fishing, the college age kids are sleeping/hungover from Friday night, and parents are watching whatever crap their kiddos have on the tube (unless you're like me and make your 4 month old watch with you to prepare her for the future, haha). So that leaves...bored retirees?

Looks like a big increase across the board. That stinks. I love my Kistlers but at those prices, I'm tempted to go back to St. Croix.

It's pretty easy to figure out how they're catching fish. There hasn't been an episode or event where I didn't see what guys were throwing. Bladed jigs and senkos seem to reign supreme.

I use the 8.5:1 Curado K for frogging and love it. I'd like to switch out all the 7s i use for flipping and jigs to 8s. I know a lot of guys think it's unnecessary but the speed is so important for the way I fish. I like to cover water so when I bomb a frog out, I'm usually not working it ALL the way back to the boat. It gets worked around the cover I'm hitting then burned back in to cast again. A super fast reel gets my bait back in so much quicker so I can cover more water with less effort.

To me, growing the sport is making it more accessible to more people. Nothing MLF has done gives me the impression that this is their aim. I guess we'll just have to see how the new feeder system works in 2 more years (or whenever they decide to implement it).

Totally agree here, especially after hearing from the MLF ownership that their target audience isn't the typical tournament bass angler.
