Matching vs Contrasting Trailers
I'll use a green pumpkin trailer on black/ blue or junebug jigs but not vice versa. It totally makes a difference...(not really, I just don't like the way ot looks).

Kistler Helium 3 Heavy
I have the 7ft heavy paired with a Tat SV. It's awesome. I use mine mostly for skipping 1/2 oz jigs around docks and wood. I've also tossed 3/4 oz jigs with it. The rod has plenty of power.

Championships
New Major League Fishing record....most championship events held in a single season of any professional sport! If I didn't love bass fishing so much, MLF would be the most irritating thing on the planet.

Casting Rod $50-100
Get the Ark Sniper from TW while it's on closeout. They only have 1 model (7'6' mh extra fast) but it makes for a pretty good all purpose rod. $64 right now with the Labor Day discount. Can't be beat.

Hello from DC
I've fished the Potomac a handful of times. 2 top 10s in BFL events as a co. I know what it has to offer. It's not a bad fishery. And you're right, I need my boat down here. No place to store it, with the expensive city living and all. Should be moving a little further out in the coming year so that will help. I judge harshly because my hometown is within 30 mins of Ontario and the St. Lawrence (and a ton of other natural lakes and rivers), 1 hr from Oneida, 2 hrs from Cayuga, and 3.5 hrs from Champlain. I've been spoiled...

Hello from DC
Welcome! I'm in Arlington, so closer to DC than most in the area. Gotta tell you brother, we picked the wrong place for bass fishing! I hit up the Occoquan Reservoir at Fountainhead Park every now and again. Cheap boat rentals and there are some nice ones in there.

Are HABs affecting your fishing?
Nope. I'm generally using 15 to 20lb fluoro and 40 to 60lb braid there so I don't get bit off that often. If it happens, it happens.

Are HABs affecting your fishing?
Look for rock humps with grass around them. Warning marker bouys are your friend. Dont' overlook the obvious stuff. Pretty much all of the main lake islands normally have grass patches around them with pretty significant drops. Dog days of summer can be tough. I'm usually using big jigs out there but I'm also only looking for 5 to 7 bites a day. If you're looking to just catch fish, try drop shotting a 4-6in worm around the weed edges and rock drops. The north end where it narrows is choked with milfoil again this year. You can definitely catch them flipping that stuff but it will take a LONG time to find the sweet spots among acres and acres of grass. You should be able to get some froggin the slop too. Not all slop is made equal though. Slop with clean water underneath = success. Good Luck!

Something You Have Yet to Accomplish in Fishing...
A DD bass would be cool but I wouldn't be crushed if it never happened. I'd really like to see my dad catch one though. That's on his bucket list. I would also like to fish a Pro Am tourney like an Open or Costa as a boater.

Are HABs affecting your fishing?
I've fished Black Lake multiple times during algae blooms. Never seemed to affect the fishing. I've only fished Black Lake twice this year and not since the beginning of July. It was tough which I attribute to the lack of good milfoil on the lower portion of the lake. Early tournaments this year were being won with around 14lbs. That being said, I would still fish it over the St. Lawrence (just because I like green fish more). Just an fyi, there will be a 35+ boat team tournament out there this Saturday and a smaller 10+ boat tournament there Sunday. The pressure might make it a little tougher. PS. The chunks in my avatar came from Black lake last year;)

Frog blowups, too many misses
You're up north...a lot of those blow ups are pike or pickeral. I fish frogs a ton in upstate NY and I can tell you, if a bass is 12 inches or bigger and hits my frog, 95 times out of a 100, he eats it. If I get a blow up that completely misses or doesn't stay buttoned, I immediately check the frog for pike teeth gashes. 95 times out of a 100, my frog is sliced up.

No one watch the flw cup
Yeah, I saw him take everyone's money at the Champlain Costa a couple weeks ago haha.

Action Cameras for fishing
I've been using my GoPro Hero 3 Black since 2014 and it still works fine. Battery life is crap and sound is horrible inside the case though. I've shot like 300+ gbs of video, bought a new computer last year and Adobe Elements to edit, and have still yet to post a single video haha.

Falcon BuCoo SR Rod
I would also say that the Bucoos tapers are also a little different than other brands. My buddy picked me up a 7'H fast on a crazy deal and I find it nowhere near that rating. It feels like a slightly lighter medium heavy with a moderate fast taper. Like, I feel I could throw treble hook baits on it with no problems tearing them out.

Any Luck In Upstate Ny?
Anybody know anything about Chaumont Pond near Newton Falls? It's close to Cranberry Lake up in the Adirondacks. It looks like a really cool place I just can't find any info on it.

I need heavy rod recommendarions..
Check out the Ark Sniper. I just picked up a couple off TW. They are on closeout for $85. They're a steal for that price. The 7'6 Heavy is really nice. Super light but it's pretty stout.
